On convention date there was never any politician that can oppress anyone with police, dss etc because all these securities would take direction from their institutions under buhari

So the idea that a minister resign is not a big deal, if the president backs him, the same protocols would cover him while his resignation is only on paper

Section 82(1) of the new Electoral Act 2022:
Every registered Political Party shall give the Commission at least 21 days' notice of any Convention, Congress, Conference or meeting convened for the purpose of "merger" and electing members of its executive committees, other governing bodies or nominating candidates for any of the elective offices specified under this Act.

It is not new...It was just taken wholly from Section 85(1-2) of the Electoral Act 2010.

It is a practice that has long been done. Whenever there is a NWC or NEC meeting of political parties, INEC is informed or invited.
INEC cannot monitor meetings that don't involve mergers, election of members or nomination of candidates but they are in the know for record purposes. These meetings must have an agenda.

What INEC is saying is that: There was no notice or invitation of meetings wherein Buni & Akpan Udo-Edehe were removed or resigned. There is also no Court Order.

Election only takes place at Congresses or Convention that is why the Electoral Act 2022 grouped Section 82 as "Notice of Convention and Congress."

They were informed before the NEC meeting that produced Buni....they also need to be informed of the meeting wherein Bello came to be.

Let us assume the National Chairman of a Political Party dies or resigns, what happens? There will be a NWC meeting, wherein someone will be called up in Acting Capacity. It is not an election.

I am not arguing that they failed the 21days dead line

My point is even if buni wrote a notice letter to inec saying he has handed power to bello it still would be illegal without a meeting inec attends to that effect, signature letters can be forged by anyone intimating change of guard

The section 82 (2-3) says INEC must be involved in meeting.

"Notice" is one thing, "involve" physically is another, from below screenshot Bello wrote a letter "notifying" inec of a NEC meeting and inviting them to be "involved" (attend) even when it was a meeting that didn't have anything to do with the major decision of choosing new NEC

Inec reacted the notice wasn't even signed by the right people and so can't be "involved" attend the meeting

APC is actually useless without buni so it must wait for him to give them the next direction

Buni would probably move convention by the usual one month interval

While he does this i urge all those in severe pains not to annoy him again because he can take another leave and apc would remain grounded

Any decision he takes on the new date should not be challenged because his NEC is empowered to do so

Before a national convention holds apc constitution stipulated that the delegates for the convention have to be informed at least 14days to the date of convention

Today 12th March brings an end to that deadline which means even if buni the real chairman comes tomorrow convention still won't hold on 26.

The law itself has cancelled apc convention awaiting the official notice by buni on the cancellation since Bello is illegal to even release any statement on buni behalf
