well, okay. My vote count has increased to 51 but still a long way to go. I'll stay hopeful on Seun and the moderator(s). |

Friends, vote for i-Solutions, for upliftment of our motherland, Nigeria! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRE0bgAvP_o |
Thank you sweet-pawn for helping me start this thread. Though I have just 36 votes presently and will need nearly 1000 to qualify (because the Egyptians in the competition are quite overwhelming), I believe that as soon as it gets to the home page nairalanders will make 1000 seem like a small thing and vote for me overwhelmingly too. I just hope it gets there soon enough. |
Oh sweet-pawn, i cannot thank u enough for this kind gesture. I am sorry i had no idea of the process of getting a thread on the frontpage. I really appreciate this. I have seen the thread, its just perfect! God Bless You. |
Hi Seun, I have a special request to make. I am a final year student of Electronics and computer engineering at the Federal Univeristy of Technology, Owerri. Currently i do only .NET programming that's why I am not able to apply for your python contest. My request is this, i applied for a young innovator competition organised by an international body CRDF for Asia, middle east and Africa. The name of the competition is Global Innovation Through Science and Technology (GISTech). Contestants are to create a 2minute video presentation of how they can solve a world problem using Sci and Tech. My idea is geared towards reducing infant mortality in developing countries. The App i propose(i-Solutions), detects pathologies in newly born babies from the cry sound they produce using neural networks. Next thing is that all competition entries (videos) are to be voted for by public on you tube and only those with the highest votes qualify to the next round. Please Seun, I am asking that you watch my pitch video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRE0bgAvP_o and if you find it worthy (which i believe you will), please put it on the nairaland home page so that my fellow Nigerians can vote for me to increase my chances of making my country proud. Please I really need this opportunity to make my idea a reality. I have followed nairaland posts for about a year now and you seem to me like a person who is concerned about helping the Nigerian Youth (and i am not saying this to flatter you). Please just give me this one chance and watch my video. Hope to hear from you soon. |
Who says Nigerian youths do not have the potentials to cause a positive change? Please watch this video on Youtube and click the "Like" button to make this dream a reality. You will need to sign in with a google account. Here is the URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRE0bgAvP_o. |

Someone who understands how the PhD program works, especially in the United States should please enlighten me, i have been successfully confused with the things i read. I just completed my undergraduate study in Nigeria and am looking to further in the US. Clearly doing PhD is different from doing a First Degree right from the manner of application to the program's modus operandi. I'd really appreciate an answer that is informative. Thanks in advance. |
