Lionessza: So zuma fans congratulate him and this is supposed to prove that this was a wise decision by your governor? . What is the point of this thread?. Majority of Nigerians seem to hate the idea but the governors followers don't see anything wrong with it. Samething with south africa, majority even Zuma's followers ( which i partly am ) think this is a waste of money especially from a state that can't even pay its civil servants. It's a slap in the face to them. They serve the state and should be a priority not zuma. Zuma gets a salary and can feed his family but what about the workers in imo state? . The positive comments come from people who didn't not look at those but see a kind gesture by a fellow African leader. If they could get the full story of that state they would be disgusted too. you african,me nigerian...we have nothing in common....thats why... |

I don't know what you studied in the university but one thing is certain, once there is a reward for innovations, scientists engineers technologists and craftsmen, do develop unbelievable things.

nemesis4u: reverse engineering is not that easy , infact it is very tough
why ?
eg. u want to reverse engineer a air drop dumb bomb of 500kg class
first u will need mastery over the explosive components and their functional parameters of the bomb to be reverse engineered , u will have to figure out the composition , then their performance characteristics , then realize test facilities to figure/test out the parameters , if successful u will need to develop tools and production methodologies to develop the same and then ensure QC through out the process.
2nd u will need to figure out the working of the fuze which involves micro electronics, high G resistant piezoelectric components etc , this will require state of the art test facilities like electronic foundry and top notch equipment's , after that u will need to test the fuzes over the entire operational regime to ensure its desired performance , this will involve firing of thousands and lakhs of shells to unsure compliance with standards.if successful u will need to develop tools and production methodologies to develop the same and then ensure QC through out the process.
then u will need to figure out the composition of the shell ie metallurgical aspect , u will need to replicate it successfully and test it to ensure desired parameters r met .if successful u will need to develop tools and production methodologies to develop the same and then ensure QC through out the process.
after the finished product comes out u will need to certify it for the weapons platform u r going to use on , this is a long process and involves lot of flights in different flight regimes in dedicated air range testing facilities. also u will need to develop the ejection pylons or certify existing ones
the domains involved for the simple task of reverse engineering a dump air dropped bomb r
1.chemical engineering 2.metallurgy 3.structural engineering 4.micro electronics engineering 5.mechanical engineering 6.electrical engineering 7.electronics engineering 8.software engineering 9.production engineering 10.QC engineering
etc etc
and all the related trained man power together with infrastructure, R & D and test facilities at all the stages
till date electronic/mechanical fuze for bombs r made by less than 10 or so countries , so u understand the enormity of the task of reverse engineering it inspite of me making it sound so easy.
chinese were able to reverse engineer becz they invested massive human resources and billions of dollars for the same , labor cost is cheap in china and they have single party rule and even then they took considerable time money and resource to accomplish it .
no other country can replicate what china did it is not possible becz of huge costs involved and lack of massive human resource plus a draconian government willing to push/break all boundaries.
best way will be to go for joint production so that u can get initial hands on experience on a weapon system of interest , study it over a period of time , identify the sectors/domain u r lacking or good in , send ur people abroad to acquire experience etc on these domains / or set up departments within the country to do the same , concurrently develop facilities to support R & D and other infrastructure for the project , once done formulate the design parameters , start working on the critical base technologies , once these r realized get ready to integrate the same and ur half way through to develop ur desired weapon system.
all in all reverse engineering is a difficult and expensive proposition in real life which needs way more resources and time, but if u have them be my guest. ahaaaa....now we are talking...we have all this courses in nigerian universities....soooo,we start learning...... ...step by step.... we already sendt 2 satelites to space...we build drones...we build ships...and computers too... nobody says you must build everything from scratch...components,guy...components....what we can build localy we build..what we cant build,we learn how to build.... |

baralatie: war does not follow the way you make it sound. this was the major mistake Japan made against China and it most an opportunity to be among the world security alliance in terms of decision making. the error came from a certain general who said he would run over China in three months ended with a war of three years and later surrendered to China and the allies. Nigeria should stay clear of war politics some nations like France have seen it twice! what Nigeria should pursue is economic growth, prosperity and a formidable armed force as if they will allow that to happen...dont you still get it??...they dont want you to progress...its bad business for them... i say only concentrate on building the military...am not saying to go to war...just to make them scared of messing around with you... then the rest can follow... |
