How wld u feel when a certin tribe keep insulting ur tribe? So I think the moods shd check any activity that has a tone of tribalism. Ban anybody DAT make any tribal comment. U won't believe it that when I was in Ukraine for my masters I was so happy to see a Nigerian (an Igbo guy to be precise). We became best of friends so close that am getting married to one of his cousins soon. My point here is that outside the shores of this country there is no Igbo or Yoruba or Hausa... We are all Nigerians at least for now.....
abegi, park well..you have to see the igbos beating the living daylight out of other tribes if the have the chance...

bashing is sports-man-ship not realy tribalism..that the igbo even give you his cousin tells you that, you are the one seeing it the wrong way....

we are a family, critizicing each other..its nothing tribalistic about that...

I've patiently scanned through all the views expressed by various contributors to this topical issue.

Could it be true that negligibly few Nigerians are advocating for the unity of this country while others are troubleshooting the various possible ways of dismantling this great Nation.

I would have expected the a greater number voicing out and proffering various ways of getting it right as a whole rather than as disintegrated fragments.

This is thought provoking. Is Nigeria going the way of USSR judging from the mindset of an average Nigerian?

Numerous questions begging for answers.

Very simple, the six republics or whatever you call them will simply divide further into scores of other countries.

As an ND girl I can authoritatively tell you that we are NOT united. Is it the Ishekiris and the Ijaws that will live peacefully togetherhuh Let's look at my state, there's a serious supremacy battle between the Ibibios, annangs and the Oron people. The Efiks being the most powerful people in Cross River does not go down well with the other over 20 ethnic groups there. So how will an Akwa/Cross country look like? undecided

As for middlebelt, do we need to remind ourselves of the numerous community fights going on there?
What about the Christians and other minority tribes in the core North? How will they cope with the overbearing majority of the Hausa/Fulani Muslim community?

The SW may thrive for a little while because of their system of checks and balances and the fact that they have leaders that they collectively recognize and respect. However, Yoruba communities also fight a lot, it will just be a matter of time before they start back stabbing themselves.
all republics will splinter more and more...we all know that...south east my left foot...they dont even agree with each other even now.....

halfbreed,cast-systems....in year 2016,they think any tribe will want to be with another tribe??..

rubbish....uno has absolutly no right to interfere in the nations business...or else we declare war on uno...!!!...
Foreign AffairsRe: Boko Haram Attack: 50,000 Flee Town In Niger by tsdarkside(m): 7:10am On Jun 08, 2016
akereconfi:
The UN High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) has expressed concern for some 50,000 people, who have been forced to flee a town in Niger after a devastating attack from armed group Boko Haram.

Adrian Edwards, UN refugee agency (UNHCR) spokesman, told reporters in Geneva on Tuesday that tens of thousands of people were forced to flee the town of Bosso, in south-eastern Niger, after the armed group attacked a military outpost based over the weekend.

Edwards said that many of those fleeing the town were headed towards Toumour, some 30km west of Bosso, living in the open and in pecarious conditions.

"This is a desperately poor area where the general insecurity has destroyed the socio-economic fabric. The self-reliance capacity of the displaced and their hosts is extremely limited.

"Many people are reportedly traumatised and worried about their safety. People are sleeping in the open and urgently need shelter and other assistance," Edwards said.

Authorities said that at least 30 Nigerian civilians and two Nigerian soldiers were killed during that attack on Friday.

Quoting the mayor of Bosso and a Nigerian military source, Reuters reported on Monday that Boko Haram retook the town on Sunday night following clashes with soldiers from Niger and Nigeria. It was unclear on Tuesday who was in charge of the city.

Martin Ewi, researcher on counter-terrorism at the Institute of Security Studies (ISS) in Pretoria, South Africa, said that Boko Haram's move to capture Bosso suggested that the group were searching for a "new safe haven".

Ewi told Al Jazeera that the group were desperately searching for a city from which they could launch their attacks. He described Niger as the "new frontline of the war".

"Being in the forest is good for hiding, but having a safe haven in southern Niger is what they need for sustainability," Ewi said.

The UNHCR said in May that security and humanitarian situation was worsening in the Diffa Region in Niger as the rebellion spread from Nigeria to Niger.

"Nigeria is really cracking down hard on their operations. And Niger has until now been able to detect Boko Haram's plans, so I am curious to know how they managed to get into Bosso this time," Ewi said.

Niger, Cameroon, Chad, Nigeria and Benin, have all contributed troops to a 9,000-strong regional task force dedicated to fighting the group.

According to the UN, more than 20,000 people have been killed, and over 2,000 women and girls have been abducted since the conflict began in 2009.

At least 2.5 million people have fled their homes, of whom 2.2 million are internally displaced. A further 177,000 are seeking refuge in the neighbouring countries of Cameroon, Chad and Niger.

Yea...... They like money so much that their anthem is Biafra or Death.

They love money so much that they willingly give their lives for the release of Kanu.

Stop living in 1967.

If you read the post, you will know that Nigeria cannot win war against biafra this time.

I don't pray for war though but it is good to state the obvious.

The country is broke and cannot fund military in war front.

The oil they may need is no longer completely theirs.

So stop inciting war and make peace because Niger Delta has begun starving Nigeria which you and I know was what they used to defeat Biafra.

You pray for one Nigeria yet you're here spreading hate speech which is what makes Igbo want to leave in the first place.
what??...are you high??....not even america can defeat us now,,,you are talking about biafra that need to first build a strong army like nigeria to even stand one week....

All you morons up there saying thrash. Do you need a prophet to tell you guys that we are headed for a failed state? Once the crunch occurs, many of you are going to become victims.

Every single politician, both actively engaged or otherwise, knows that this system is not working, and IT CAN NEVER WORK except there is a massive restructuring of governance. They just pay lip service about things getting better soon because supporting the entity called Nigeria is what puts money in their pocket.
Let's assume the NDA suddenly repents and disengage from destroying oil facilities, and Boko Haram makes peace with itself and the society, what happens next? We keep operating a sham system based on ethnicity and nepotism. Way to go! Will it stop the rampaging herdsmen from their activities? Will it make the Fulanis suddenly realize that every other tribe has an equal stake, and nobody can be lord over others?

The sooner we face reality, the better chances we have at coming out of this predicament intact. We don't have a nation. We have never had anything close to a real nation since independence. For all those who keep pointing accusing fingers at other tribes, saying IPOB or Biafra is behind the report. Ask yourselves one very honest question: Would you willingly give your life up in exchange for your so called country? If you were told that your death would mean a better Nigeria, are you patriotic enough to forfeit your life for that?

Test your loyalty then. Know where your allegiance truly lies.
tahhhhh.....nigeria doesnt need your loyalty...you igbos love money too much...we will pay you to fight.....

whatever............
