Pls my seniors advice me,pls i need a quick fix 4 my burnt 20a controller.
1:A 60amp pwm charge controler with lcd monitor and was said that can work with 2000w of panal. OR
2:A 40amp mppt charge controller without lcd monitor and said to work with 1000w of panel though not high end controla.
So which one shd i buy as quick fix 4 my 500w 12v system.All a product on Aliexpress.

12v!...strange it survived uptill this moment./i guess the placement of ur panels isnt optimal, thus u r not harvesting the full 500w from the panels....or ur panels could be fake alaba panels that are not upto the name plate wattage thus might be 300w n not 500w as stated

i wud recommend u save up and buy a 45amp/40 amp charge controller, that would be cheaper than converting ur system to a 24v n still maintaing a 20/30 amp charge controller

d panels a imported from china 125w each for street lighting contract,using d left over from d contract.concerning placemt,sun rises east at my place and was place facing east at almost 45degree.wayforward now is saving to get 40-60amp charger controler thinking 4 upgrade later

OK..REMAINING piece of puzzle is..if your system is 24v or 12v..........i suspect its 24v...cos if it was 12v...it should have burnt long ago....cos 500w/12v = 40amps n ur CC is just 20amps. 500w/24v is abt 25amps..........since most panels/installations arent 100% efficient, 25amps will not be getting to ur system except on rare occasions and being that ur batt bank was full again...compounded the problem as the CC was now battling 2 very dangerous problems.

the scenario i painted is scenario A.

SCENARIO B is the cable +ve batt cable pulling free/somehow disconnecting

it is a 12v system,i've using it since 1st of january 2015

sry abt ur loss..but note that connecting ur batts direct to solar without charge controller will deep fry ur batts........within 2 wks of this assault...they wud be irredeemable.........

i feel its the+ve cable from ur batt disconnecting that burnt ur charge controller.......it happened during the day abi?...most charge controllers cant handle the excessive energy output from the panels..if they dont hv anywhere [batt bank] to send it.........i recommend you incorporate DC fuses in your next design

yes it happened in d afternoon when d sun was high up and as at that time d controler indicator shows battery full.

my 20amp charger controller for my 500w panel just got burnt now,the cause unknown.what i could say is that i was on my pc when it happened and i notice that d +ve cable from panel and the +ve cable from d battery both got cut off frm d controller while d -ve was still intarct,though both +ve cable are next 2 each other on d controller.Could it be that both +ve cable touched each other?or is it over heating?.while d controller was burning my inverter continued working it was d odour of burning wire that alerted me.Anyone with d idea of what really went wrong,for future guidance.note the panels is still working because i put it directly on d battery

George D, dats great, wanna know the type of lnb i can also try to enjoy fringe satellite although you have a massive five meter, mine is just three meter, there is this tp on hotbird which has foxsport, men which lnb i never buy, iverto utra, red extend, fuji gold etc this stubborn tp na wahala, the signal strenght fluntuates badly though i know the bigger the size of your dish the more signal you pull in, any suggestion on the lnb to use

i have same problem with that foxsport tp,with signal moving btw 58%-60%,i'm using strong quad lnb on strong 4922a.any idea of any lnb that can add abt 2-4% signal gain

This beans 1&2 is making much sense o,even with my hotbird 13e it is igbadun all d way.this beans remind me of jsc sport on 13e that gives everything call sport but epl but left 13e immediately they got epl right.

Anyone with d best lnb skew 4 hotbird 13e.i,m currently btw 2'oclock and 3'nclock and have highest gain of 73 on 10719 but my foxsport is cracking w 58% and 60%,i,m using strong quad lnb,with 4922a.Any help to gain more on foxsport will be welcomed.

Anyone using 3metre fibre dish for hotbird 13e shd leave his contact here,i need some info thanks.

Though i have 500w panel and since january 1st 2015 uptill today it has serve my light,tv,fan,blending needs,most expecially weekend 12hrs tv and decoder need.The CDA is begging me to connect to phcn because of d money they will get 4rm me and my has always been that rather than pay them i will use d money to add 2 my panel,so off grid dey sweet belle

Talking of durability and ability 2 repair by many technicians strong is d best,from experience i once use tlink 900hd as advance as d decoder is nobody was able 2 repair it,i had 2 buy 2 in a yr and all develop fault b/4 six mnt of life and i had 2 run away from tlink since then,d two is still in alaba as i'm writg.for qsat same issue of repair and durability i have 2 at home and no one has been able to repair it meanwhile i have 3 strongs,d mpg2,4669x and 4922a and all is still working uptill now and d list in age is 2yrs,d mpg2 that mytv started with is still with me working,so strong all d way

Who says there is no light,tv and fta without phcn.for complete 1mnth and 14days now,i've been on solar without phcn.i just moved to my house and have decided to stay away from phcn in my estate.i've been able to power d following with my 500watt solar panel,20amp charger controler with 2 150ah toks batteries and 1kva inverter:
1: 4 15watt energy saving bulb for 5hrs at night daily.
2:80w tv and 25w decoder for 6-8hrs during d wk and 10-12hrs during d wkend.Blending,use of fan as situatn demand.I'm d toast of my estate and everyone want to use solar and i on a daily bases i educate at least a person on solar.
With d igbadun unlimited of offgrid world,i'm more than ready to upgrate very soon.thanks to all d guru in d house whow will all look upto in fta and solar world.

@Faithchild,d no1 problem with ur dish is that is not plumb i.e d pole is not at 90degree,second is dat is not firm i.e shaking,2 solve these use concrete to hold firmly to d ground and get a plum from bricklayer when u a puting it in d concrete.I had d same problem when i moved from my rented apartment to my house last yr,due to d problem i had when removing d pole from concrete in my previous apartmt,i decided not to put concrete and d pole will shake anytime i'm tracking,so i had problem getting my hotbird 13e with my 3metre until i put concrete and make sure it was plumb.Taking about lmb,since installatn in 2010,i've been using strong 4way lmb with 74% on 10716 and vod,so tweek ur lmb well and u will be okay though i want to lay my hand on other lnbs as d guru's said

PLS HOUSE I NEED A BIT OF CLARIFICATN ON THE FF CASE:
I HAVE 4 125W SOLAR PANEL,WITH 2 200AH BATTERIES TO BE CONNECTED IN PARRALLEL TO GIVE 12V because I HAVE 1000W/12V INVERTER AND MY CHARGE CONTROLLER WILL BE RENOGY TRACER 40A MPPT 12/24V.
MY PROBLEM IS HOW DO I CONNECT MY PANELS IN ORDER FOR IT TO WORK WITH MY MPPT CHARGER AND MY 12V PARALLEL COMBINE 2 200AH BATT AND MY 12V INVERTER.UR CONTRIBUTN WILL BE APPRECIATED.
