The wife of Tunisia’s late president, Beji Caid Essebsi died on Sunday, as Tunisians were voting to elect his successor less than two months after his death.



Chadlia Farhat, Essebsi’s widow, died at the age of 83, their son said without details.

“My mother Chadlia, widow of Béji Caïd Essebsi, is dead, God bless her,” their son Hafedh Caïd Essebsi said on Facebook.

Listwand recalls that Mrs Essebsi, 83, in July welcomed many heads of state who had come to pay their respects to her husband who died at the age of 92, after having been the first democratically elected president by universal suffrage in Tunisia.

“We tell each other everything, and he always asks me for my opinion,” she said in a rare interview with Leaders magazine in November 2014, during her husband’s campaign.

“This time, I felt that he was so eager to save Tunisia, and I couldn’t stop him. You have to make sacrifices when it comes to the country you live in. Since then, I have realized the extent of the necessary security measures, but we are trying to keep the same pace of life,” she added.

The couple had two daughters and two sons, including Hafedh Caïd Essebsi, who retained control of the party created by his father, Nidaa Tounes, at the cost of struggles by people who decimated the formation.

A Zambian Bank worker has been suspended for allegedly sleeping with over 200 men while promising them jobs.

The men are reported to be both clients and job seekers, most of whom she lured into bed after promising them jobs at the bank.

The 39-year-old woman, Mutale Winfridah, is reported to have been using her influence as Senior Bank Executive at the Bank’s Kitwe branch to lure the men into bed, with several promises of giving them jobs.

She also lured them into bed with the promise of approving their bank loan applications.

The Zambian Observer reports that after 10 men formally lodged complaints against her, stating her sexual advances towards them, the management of the bank decided to officially suspend her.

It is, however, unclear what further sanctions the bank intends to take concerning her.

Uzoma Asagwara, a 39-year-old Nigerian-Canadian, has been elected into the country’s legislative seat for the New Democratic Party.



Asagwara was one of three black people in the 150-year history of the Manitoba legislative house, CBC News reports.

She has been working within her community as a psychiatric nurse and for long has been a community activist in Winnipeg.

Until Tuesday's vote, no black person had ever been elected to the Manitoba Legislature in the 150-year history of this province.

Uzoma said she is grateful to everyone, who has supported them long before the election.

The Nigerian-Canadian is not only a politician and activist, she is also an athlete.

Asagwara, a first-generation Canadian whose parents are Nigerian, has worked as a psychiatric nurse and is a longtime community activist in Winnipeg's core.

Speaking on her victory, Mrs Asagwara said, “This is a historic moment for our team and our communities.”

Mrs Asagwara said that being one of the first Black Member of the Legislative Assembly elected in Manitoba was “wonderful…incredible,” and a “sign that folks are really making sure that our elected officials reflect the communities they serve.”

Sometimes i just can't help but wonder... How can someone travel to the US of all places con decide to embrace crime.. Asin how? Knowing fully well that it is just a matter of time before the law catches up with him/her... How.. I don't think people who do this are normal..

Doing it in Nigeria is understandable, the country is a shithole.. Considering the fact that we worship money here atleast If them gbab you, you can always pay a huge sum to escape been punished... But for yankee, them catch you, you are gone.. I'm not sure these people are normal..
