ottersberger: The problem with most laptop bandits is that their arguments are intellectually shallow and hopelessly incoherent. You expect school buses provided to Nigerian schools over a decade ago to still be running today, under our toxic maintenance culture and entrenched corruption?. Even that is not saying that these vehicles are not serving until this day, but you would not know seeing as most of you have not ventured beyond your hamlets and gifted laptops.
Since Peter Obi left office, Anambra has had two governors. He handed them a structured, fiscally sound system. Whose responsibility do you think it is to maintain and expand on that legacy?. Certainly not Mr. Obi’s.
Now, show me the buses Tinubu ever provided to Lagos schools. And please, spare us the embarrassment of bringing up that eyesore called BRT, that’s a disastrous fraud deserving its own thread.
Perhaps we should discuss what Obi is taking from Anambra state as a pension today, versus the daylight robbery of Lagos state that has the imprimatur of Ahmed Tinubu in the guise of a pension. Shall we?. I won't insult you since insult is Obidients trademark but I will continue to shred the lies Obidients post here daily. A legacy project as expected from a president material will not be small korope buses that can't stand the test of the time. That shows Obi is a mediocre and poor administrator. In Lagos these are project carryout by council chairmem. El Rufai introduced Arabia in Abuja metropolis at a time Tinubu introduced BRT, today Arabia has packed up but BRT is still standing Now you can see the difference. While my governor is building bridges, massive rail lines, seaports , housing estates, with sustainable reforms like waste management system, transportation system agency, FTZ, your failure Peter Obi was rendering services meant for LG chairmem, no wonder he couldnt conduct LG election for 7 years of his failure in Anambra. We would never allow a failure like Obi rule this country, never |

We can all see BRT in Lagos is still functioning.
Let's see the product of Obi legacy project in action. |

omoredia: here’s a list of Lagos areas whose names show Edo/Benin influence, mostly from the prefix “Idun/Idumu” (meaning “quarter/settlement” in Edo):
Lagos Island & Environs
1. Idumota – “Idumu Ota” (Ota’s quarter).
2. Idumagbo – “Idumu Agbo” (Agbo’s quarter).
3. Idumagbon – “Idumu Agbon” (Agbon’s quarter).
4. Idumadan – “Idumu Adan” (Adan’s quarter).
5. Idunsagbe / Idunsagbe market (old records).
6. Idunsare – settlement named after a leader/family.
Others
Idumota Market (famous Lagos market) keeps the Benin-rooted name.
Idumagbo Avenue still carries that Edo heritage.
Many smaller streets on Lagos Island begin with “Idun/Idumu.”
Why this happened
In the 15th–16th centuries, Eko (Lagos Island) was a settlement under the control of the Oba of Benin.
When the Benin Empire stationed warriors, traders, and administrators in Eko, they organized the island into quarters (idumu), naming them after people, families, or guilds.
Over time, even as Yoruba became the dominant language in Lagos, the Edo naming pattern remained in place.
👉 That’s why today you see many “Idum–” names in central Lagos, especially around markets and old quarters, reflecting Benin heritage woven into Lagos identity. Theres no need arguing with you. Every true Lagosian study GNS where the history of Lagos is taught. Carry your nonsense talk elsewhere and stop chewing Lagos for mouth as if it will belleful you |

In Enugu which is in your Igboland, the Red Cross building which houses almost a hundred motherless babies was pulled down while the babies were in the building with no alternative made for them. This sudden destruction led to the death of one baby who couldn’t survive the shock.
How many parties have ruled Enugu since 1999? Yu dey mind those people who are just bitter and fixated on Lagos and SW. Thank God my people have woken up, no amount of SM epistle can change this trend, Lagos will be iberated |

This is why no state should be ruled by one party for too long.
Dear Yorubas and Lagosians, you guys need to rise up against these impunity of the APC-led government installed by Tinubu.
They now see themselves as god and reason they talk and brag anyhow cos they know that during next election they will use one tribalism line to rally their people to help them remain in power and after election they go back to their inhumane acts and policies.
This is democracy, how can one party continue to rule Lagos state since 1999, for what? Even UK, USA, France, Germany, Canada, Australia, etc that are all developed countries with sensible leaders, no one party remains in power perpetually despite glaring leadership failures
This Lagos insensitive demolition jamboree is enough reason to vote APC out in Lagos to send a strong message to the politicians that power belongs to the people and not to political office holders No long story che na Apga you make e rule Lagos ni abi LP because ayam not understanding |

The executive should come up with executive order for immediate action and send executive bill to the Nass to mandate governor to account for security vote, that was archaic idea of the military. Redistribute the security budget towards the state governors, redirect the activities of the military and remove means at which they siphon money.
Let every state deal with its security problem, we are a Federation and not a Unitary state |
Politics › Re: My Own Curiosity About The Killings In North by Ttalk: 8:26am On Sep 09, 2025 |
helinues: The governors will abuse state policing. Let's be realistic with ourselves. Regional policing should instead be supported fully by the FG. In every region where there have been insecurity, it's still the same people from the same place attacking their fellows That's a backward thought that I don't subscribe to. It is better to have power in the hand of elected governor than to have it in the hands of terrorist. There are constitutional provisions that checkmates the governors power, if the state failed to exercise those powers it's their problem, they have option of voting such governor out after 8 years. |

Yes the overall blame goes to the president as the CIC but what about those who are in the immediate position to protect their own people? Blame Tinubu for that, he is the one delaying creation of state police, he should be bold enough to tell state government to go and secure their states, that is the definition of federalism constitution we practice, all these patch and joint won't help the country. He should withdraw military from state and only assign them to borders and external invasion, any state governor who can't control his state should sink with it |
