please does anybody here have the experience of going to the German consulate with a bag and finding a secure way to keep it? I'm likely going to fall in that position. Thanks |
Greetings to all! I am just a few weeks old on this thread and have tried to read through as much as I can; i have seen how you try to help one another in your own way, reason why i have decided to table this issue. Actually, I am a Cameroonian resident in Cameroon. Have tried booking appointment for student visa application here in my country for over four months now to no avail - seems I'm always a minute too late on the online appointment booking system. A few weeks ago, I tried the consulate in Lagos with my documents. This is the email i sent: "Good day Sir, I wish to book an appointment to apply for a student visa at the German Consulate General in Lagos, Nigeria. I am a Cameroonian and for the past 4 months, I have been making several attempts to book an appointment at the German Consulate in Yaoundé, Cameroon to no avail. The online appointment portal keeps displaying the following message: "Unfortunately, there are no appointments available at this time. New appointments will be made available for booking at regular intervals". I have also written several emails to the Consulate in Yaoundé with no positive results. I will be willing to travel to Lagos if I am given this opportunity. Attached to this email is my official affidavit of support, admission letter and passport. Thank you in advance for your attention to these materials. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Sincerely" Next day this reply dropped: "Dear Sir/Madam, thank you for your email. Hereby we would like to inform you that due to the high demand on student visa appointments a next student appointment will be allocated for 29.10.2015 and visa processing time takes 6 weeks after interview. We need the consent from the Aliens Authority at your future place of residence in Germany in order to issue a student visa for you and can therefore not speed up the visa process deliberately. We are sorry but we cannot give you an earlier date since we are fully booked. I would therefore advise you to contact your university and see if it is possible to get an enrollment extension letter or defer your admission to the upcoming summer semester 2016 so you have sufficient time to apply for your visa in your country. We regret not to have a better news for you and only advise you to apply for visa appointment 3 month before your enrollment starts. Thank you for comprehension." I then contacted the international office in my school - they don't defer admissions, and I had already paid the semester fee as it was a condition for accepting the offer of admission. They sent me a new admission letter with an extended enrollment period (up to 30th December) which I sent to the consulate in Lagos. I didn't get any reply in a while until after I had sent up to 3 emails on the same subject. I then received the appointment mail from noreply@diplo.de At this point, I have some fears. I will be traveling to Lagos for the appointment but I'm not a legal resident in Nigeria. I hear it's a requirement if you're applying for visa out of your home country. I'm really worried. guys abeg una help Cameroonian brother |

Please house I need help on these questions on the visa application form: - "Do you intend to maintain your permanent residence outside the Federal Republic of Germany? If so, where?" I don't quite understand it, and what's the right answer for a student visa application? - "References in the Federal Republic of Germany (e. g. employer, educational establishment, relatives)" Is it preferable I fill in my university info or that of my aunt in Germany who signed the sponsorship letter? Thanks in advance |
@dcitizen, pls can u paste a section of the reply here? I also tried booking an appointment; received a reply mentioning 30/10/15 but there was no time. Im a little confused. Written several emails with no reply dcitizen: |
Yes I did. Actually I'm a Cameroonian and this is my first time on this forum. For the past 3 months I have been trying to book a stud visa appointment through the online appointment booking portal of the German Embassy in Yaounde, Cameroon to no avail. Even wrote several emails with no positive reply. So I tried Lagos with my docs and got the above response. However, it also stated in the same reply that I should contact my university to find out the possibility of getting an enrollment extension letter which I did and forwarded the letter to the same consular email address on Thursday. Haven't read from them since then. Just wondering if their first email to me is enough for the appointment. thanks ogagaejay: |
Hello house! Is this all about an appointment confirmation? There's no time mentioned: "Hereby we would like to inform you that due to the high demand on student visa appointments a next student appointment will be allocated for 30.10.2015 and visa processing time takes 6 weeks after interview. We need the consent from the Aliens Authority at your future place of residence in Germany in order to issue a student visa for you and can therefore not speed up the visa process deliberately." |
