Family / How Your Child Can Benefit From Coding by TuteriaNG: 2:04pm On Feb 23, 2022
Coding is a language on its own. Language helps children communicate and gain vital skills. Coding is the language of technology There is no better way for children to fit into an increasingly tech-oriented world than to learn to speak its language early.
Children need to be empowered with the vital digital skills they will need to fit into our world as we continue to rely more on tech products and skills.

Opportunities in other fields

Recent research puts coding at the forefront of future careers, even the knowledge of basic HTML and web design is essential for all career paths as the workforce continues to evolve. Traditional jobs are now being re-invented to incorporate more technicalities for better productivity.

The best way to teach them Programming is one of the most lucrative career paths in the world. According to a recent study, skilled programmers are likely to earn at least 4 times more than their peers in other fields.

Other fun benefits of coding are:
Coding improves cognitive skills
Children who learn to code understand how to plan and organize thoughts. It also helps them to visualize abstract concepts and apply math to real-world situations.

Coding helps strengthen resilience
When children learn to code, they develop the ability to bounce back after failure. They learn that failure isn’t necessarily a bad thing, and in fact, it serves as a learning opportunity.

Coding boosts creativity
They will have the chance to design something that is entirely their own. Just like learning a language children need motivation and seeing results along the way is enough to cultivate this, this is what happens when children learn to code. Because coding is easy to pick up, for children especially, confidence comes easily.

When children learn how to code it gives them the opportunity to be confident and create something in a fun and exciting way.

At Tuteria, we are focused on ensuring all Nigerian children have access to the essential skills they will need to thrive in this tech-driven world.

Family / Why Nigerian Children Aged 6 - 16 Should Learn Coding In 2022 by TuteriaNG: 5:47pm On Dec 21, 2021
Here’s a scary statistic - 5 to 10 years from now, it will be almost impossible to get a top role in the workforce without some knowledge of data analysis, programming or machine learning. Shocked? Yes, it’s that serious.

So as you spend time with your kids this holiday, let’s ask some tough questions;
Are your kids aware that the world is becoming more and more tech-driven every day? How are you preparing your child for the job market they will eventually enter into?

Regardless of whether or not one wants to work in programming, even regular jobs have started being infused with elements of technology and advanced analytics. Advertising is now Adtech. Education is morphing into Edtech. Even the health sector is being shaped by Healthtech.

It doesn’t take a genius to know that the future is tech-driven and children should be prepared to thrive in such a world. Sadly the average Nigerian school are not equipped to provide the necessary skill-set to compete in such a scenario.

Hence why as a parent, it is important you prepare your children not just for the present scenario but with the mind towards the future.
- Coding has a lot of immense benefits for kids. It can help them:
- Compete in international opportunities
- Be selected for global tech scholarship opportunities
- Boost their cognitive abilities
- And boost their career

So as they begin the holiday, ensure they take the time to boost their productivity and learn how to code.

Fashion / Before You Let Your Kids Fail, Read This.. (as Seen On Lindaikeji) by TuteriaNG: 2:21pm On Apr 09, 2016
I had 61As, 10Bs and only 1C throughout my five years in the University finishing with a 4.85 First Class CGPA, and also won numerous competitions in secondary school – but that’s not even the main story. Up until primary 3, I still couldn’t read or solve simple Math questions correctly, always coming 22nd out of 24 pupils in class.

My classmates and teachers thought I was dull, but they were wrong. Very wrong actually. All I really needed was someone to patiently explain many things that were hurriedly discussed in class – and at that time, my grandma came to my help.

She was a head teacher then and had some free time, so she began teaching me privately. Two hours of lessons every day, was all it took for me to move to 10th position, then to 4th position, then to 1st position – and eventually graduating with a First Class!

I succeeded because, instead of allowing me struggle, my grandma took action on my behalf. This was my experience, but it could be that of your child too. A new session has begun for you kids, you want them to have A’s, pass all exams and become successful in the future. But are you really doing everything you can to guarantee their success?
