A young man was killed after a stray bullet believed to be fired by SARS (Special Anti-Robbery Squad) operatives attempting to carry out a raid at Onipetesi junction, Lagos.

According to reports, the operatives were in the area Sunday afternoon to arrest a guy for carrying dreadlocks when they shot indiscriminately.One of the bullets fired by the SARS operatives hit the young man watching a football match at a viewing centre in the area.

The young man was rushed to the hospital but was reportedly confirmed dead on arrival.

After pulling out of the festival, the rapper has announced that he is bringing his Sunday Service to Weekend 2 of Coachella on Easter Sunday, April 21.

Nipsey Hussle, the Grammy-nominated rapper, was shot dead at his Marathon clothing store in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Prince Chizemdere Ezuma, the founder of Jesus Intervention Household Ministry, Ejigbo, Lagos, has been arrested for allegedly sodomising, prostituting and infecting underage boys with HIV virus, The Nation reports.

According to the report, he was arrested at his residence after an informant notified the police he had resurfaced, three months after he was declared wanted.

It was gathered that the suspect climbed his ceiling where he hid for over two hours to evade arrest when detectives stormed his home few days ago.

The suspect was declared wanted after an alleged male prostitute, Prince Chinecherem, was arrested and charged to court after a 16-year-old victim, Anthony Ikem, made revelations that implicated them.

Nigeria’s minister of power, works and housing, Babatunde Fashola has attributed the road accidents to the recklessness of drivers, Punch reports.

The minister disclosed this in Abuja at a capacity building workshop on the activation of the five United Nations’ Convention on Road Traffic acceded to by Nigeria.

Fashola said most of the accidents on the Nigerian roads were avoidable, adding that overspeeding by drivers has led to more deaths than bad roads.

He said the ministry would soon embark on the deployment of manpower for the erection of additional road signs to provide the required guidance, support and direction to road users.

The minister charged the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to intensify efforts on public enlightenment campaigns, orientation and education of drivers to be of good behaviour while on highways in order to ensure the safety of lives and property.

Twelve people have been confirmed dead, while 42 are receiving treatment after a three-storey building that collapsed in the Ita-Faaji area of Lagos Island.

Kulichang blog earlier on Wednesday reported the tragic incident when a building which houses a primary school on the second floor, collapsed while pupils were in their classrooms.

Some of the children trapped in the building have been rescued by Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and other rescue officials while those who sustained injuries among the pupils were taken to the hospital.

Akinwumi Ambode, governor of the state, arrived the scene around 2:45 pm and was briefed by the head of the LASEMA team.
