Good plan. For the mini van, you said Ikorodu is your jurisdiction. Just keep away from Isawo Road at the moment, if you don't wanna spend more than what the vehicle is worth on repairs due to the bad condition of the road, plus the police are pests on that route, extorting drivers on every trip. You could go for Uber. You'd probably earn more. |

Police in Benue State have rescued a seven-year-old boy, Ebuka Ezewugo, who was abducted a week ago. Ebuka was said to have been abducted by gunmen last Thursday at his father’s residence in Naka, headquarters of Gwer West Local Government Area of the state. The kidnappers earlier demanded N30m ransom. But Ebuka was rescued by men of Operation Zenda, an elite squad headed by a Superintendent of Police, Justin Gberindyr. The team was said to have engaged the kidnappers in a gun battle in a community along Naka Road. Three of the abductors were subsequently arrested while others fled with bullet wounds. The command Public Relations Officer, DSP Catherine Anene, confirmed the incident. She said, “it is true that a little boy of seven years old was kidnapped but our men have rescued him. “When I get the details, I will brief you but the good news is that the boy has been rescued by the police.” The same operatives rescued a medical doctor after he was kidnapped from his residence in Gboko Local Government Area of the state, three weeks ago. 1 Like |

Crime / Mob Kills Policeman, Sets Church Ablaze In Ondo by TwistedInsane: 1:09pm On Dec 18, 2019 |
A yet to be identified policeman was on Wednesday killed by a mob at the Sotitobire Praising Chapel, Oshinle Quarters, Akure, the Ondo State capital. The angry youths also set the church ablaze following the protest over a missing one-year-old boy during church service in November. The little boy, Gold Kolawole was kidnapped in the church and his whereabouts were unknown till the present moment and it was alleged that the police were not conducting a proper investigation on the matter. It was gathered that the residents of the area got angry when some pastors of the church started morning service on Wednesday. They attacked the church and one of the policemen manning the place was mobbed. They alleged that the church was not showing remorse about the missing boy. The pastor of the church, Prophet Alfa Babatunde, was said to be in the custody of the Directorate of State Service.

Phones / Locked Out Of Your Apple Device? — This Should Help by TwistedInsane: 10:59am On Dec 05, 2019 |
Evan Osnos is a staff writer for The New Yorker who, like many other fathers out there, probably just wanted a few minutes of peace and quiet. So, like many other fathers out there, he decided to let his three-year-old son play on the family iPad for a few minutes. Little did he know when he handed over the iPad that he would end up getting locked out of it for 25 million minutes. Naturally, Osnos took to Twitter to find a solution and the internet and yes, it's as funny as you think it is. Apparently, you just never know when your toddler is going to press "9999" a ton of times and lock you out of your device for eternity. Osnos learned that the hard way when he returned to his toddler to find that he'd been locked out of his iPad for 25,536,442 minutes. That roughly translates to about 47 years. Osnos had no hope but to turn to his Twitter following and plead for help. In his tweet, Osnos wrote "Uh, this looks fake but, alas, it's our iPad today after 3-year-old tried (repeatedly) to unlock. Ideas?" The internet hit back with some pretty funny suggestions. One person advised Osnos to just wait it out and another suggested rebooting the 3-year-old instead. Another follower even went so far as to suggest time travel as the safest option. There's a ton of reasons why people get locked out of their device and we can only imagine they're equally frustrating. Maybe you're like Osnos and have a toddler who likes to use the iPad as a drumset. Maybe you gave the device to an elderly grandparent who can't work technology to save their lives. Or maybe you have the unfortunate luck of dating someone with trust issues who wants to get into your text history. Whatever the reason may be, don't worry. There is a solution. Luckily for Osnos, Twitter actually did come to the rescue. People were quick to reply with actual fixes to the problem. If you ever encounter the situation, all you have to do is plug your device into your computer and a pop-up should ask you if you want to "restore" the device. After iTunes downloads the software again, you can import your saved data. You also have the option to get your device into DFU (data firmware update) mode. Each device is a little different but it should restore the device to its previous state. If there's anything we've learned from Osnos' unfortunate luck, it's that all parents should back up their devices ASAP. Since all of Apple's gadgets are now secured with an auto-delete data setting that you can't turn off, it's definitely worth making the time. The only thing you might not recover are all those accidental selfies your kid probably took while trying to unlock the device. But don't worry, we're sure there are a lot more where those came from.

Health / Tyler Robinson Foundation — Robinson's Battle With Cancer by TwistedInsane: 3:55pm On Dec 02, 2019 |
The Tyler Robinson Foundation begins with the story of Tyler — one of many heroes who chose not to let his prognosis dictate his outlook on life. Tyler was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare form of cancer, at the age of 16. In the following year leading up to his passing, he was able to touch countless lives. Those who knew Tyler were inspired by his courage, and his insistence on enjoying life and spreading happiness despite the physical and emotional strain of living with cancer. Determined to continue Tyler’s legacy of creating something positive despite the odds, his family and members of the band Imagine Dragons, who had grown close to Tyler, came together to create the Tyler Robinson Foundation. Below is Tyler’s own story, penned just a few months before his passing. Some people say that Tyler lost his battle with cancer, but we couldn’t disagree more. The real battle is not whether you live or die, but how you respond to the challenge. 'My name is Tyler Robinson and I would like to tell you my story.' 'When I was 11-years old I got a staph infection in my leg that went septic – the infection spread throughout my body and my organs began to shut down. I spent two weeks in intensive care at Primary Children’s Hospital on a respirator and had seven operations on my leg. I was fighting for my life and many people thought that I wouldn’t make it – but I fought hard and after five weeks in the hospital and five months on antibiotics – I was cured.' 'Last year, when I was 16 years old, I noticed I had a lump in my groin. I had been working out so I just thought I pulled my muscle; but it kept getting bigger. I finally told my mom about it and she took me to the doctor. After the biopsy I learned that I had a cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma. I was told that I had a racquetball-sized tumor near my bladder and that it had spread to my lymph nodes and throughout my body. After a spinal tap they told my parents that my bone marrow was 95% full of cancer. My parents didn’t tell me that it was stage 4 because they didn’t want to discourage me. It seemed surreal at first, but I was OK with it. Then I went to meet with the doctors and they told me what I was facing. I needed to have 20 rounds of chemotherapy and it would take a whole year. I would also need an operation and six weeks of radiation. I would miss my junior year at Brighton High and some of my senior year. I remember going home and feeling so mad and depressed. I told my mom that I didn’t want to go through it – not a whole year of it.' 'Our local church leader came over that night and counseled with me. He told me that people who go through hard things either become bitter and angry, or they learn from it and become stronger. He told me that I had a choice to make. From that night on, I chose to be the bigger man.' 'In February I had my first set of scans and tests to check on my progress. My doctor came into the room and told us that everyone was amazed that my tumor was gone and I wouldn’t need an operation. I still needed to go through six weeks of radiation and to continue chemotherapy until the fall. In June the tests showed that my bone marrow was completely clear of cancer. I am now officially cancer free and I will be done with my treatments next month.' 'This year I’ve learned to be patient and no matter how bad I felt, I pushed through the pain. I found that there is no use complaining or feeling sorry for myself – it doesn’t help anything. Always try to stay positive and have faith.' Tyler’s cancer unexpectedly returned just after writing his story and he passed only a few months later. But his optimism and zest for life stayed with him to the end. He taught those who know and love him the power of positivity and its ability to extinguish darkness even in the face of adversity. This foundation wishes to honor his example by reaching out to lift up other children with cancer and the families who support them. Tyler loved music, which became the catalyst for his relationship with the band Imagine Dragons. One of his favorite lyrics during the time he was battling cancer comes from the song “It’s Time,” which says 'the road to heaven runs through miles of clouded hell'. When the band heard about this, they dedicated the song to him at a show – this was the beginning of a long friendship.
