This is not clear to me. I am not aware that you require a family tie in Canada before you are issued a Canada visa. obilec: Application refused today on account of family ties in canada and travel history. I was told i don't meet eligibility requirements, what does that mean? |

So sorry to hear this. Its never advisable to rush into re-applying without knowing the basis of the refusal. 'PURPOSE OF VISIT' is generic if you ask me. My advice is that you request for the detailed notes - gcms, so that you can understand the details of your refusal. You can then adequately address them before re-applying. Nickoko: I got a final decision on my application today. Unfortunately, the visa was refused on the ground of PURPOSE OF VISIT.
What are you opinion? Should I apply again immediately or wait?. I earlier purpose of visit was vacation/tourism. |

Is there any reason why your salary is 'cash deposit'? Also, who deposits the cash into your account? kizzo4u: rgent Enquiring by kizzo4u: 7:27am Good morning nairalanders, pls I am intending applying for a UK visa next month and my bordering is that,

My question is can I try applying through France, and if yes, what documents will be required? When is your business trip? |

mayo47: Flight - 280,000 Accomodation - 400 pounds Living expenses (Inclusive of feeding & transport) - 400 pounds Duration - 7 days City - Manchester Looks ok, plus your previous trips to the UK will also greatly boost your application success. My few thoughts: 1. you can further reduce your budget: you can look for a cheaper flight to Manchester - please let your budget agree with the amount on your flight booking. 2. There are also cheaper accommodation options on bookings.com. 3. Your letter of introduction from your employer should state that your leave is with pay. 4. I’ll advise you to include shopping and miscallenous in your budget as well - I always do this whenever I apply for tourist visas. 5. Overall, let your total budget be in the neighborhood of 600k, given your current salary and account balance. |

mayo47: Hello,
I plan to visit UK in April about easter period (For 7 days) to see my girlfriend although i plan to use hotel booking when applying. I am looking at applying last day in February (About A month away). I earn about 300,000 monthly (about 5 million per annum including other benefits). I have about 900,000 as account balance now (Salary account) and should have about 1.3m by end of february.
Do you think the account balance is sufficient and also not sort of lodgement?
NB:I have been to the UK 3 times between 2011 and 2014 for both studies and visiting
@justwise, @FrontPageLawyer, @OGreene, @ekpotek, @ty01 The bold item is not clear to me. Please clarify. Do you mean you some inflows that are not your salary in your account? |

fehinebony: Congratulations on your visa approval ... it seems the male VOs are more considerate in matters relating to this. I guess so too. My 6 months+ pregnant wife and I and two kids met a male VO and it was a success story; the four of us were granted the visa. I honestly thought he was going to deny us at some point as he kept on typing and typing and typing like forever and suddenly asked ‘you already had two kids in Nigeria, so why the US for this one?’ My wife was going to answer but I told her to allow me. So I responded by saying ‘well, we were already planning a beautiful vacation in Texas when we discovered we were going to have a baby and we were like what better way to have our last baby. Being the last pregnancy, hopefully, I intend to give my wife the best delivery experience ever and would love that our other kids witness it as well. I am hoping you wouldn’t deny us this anticipated beautiful moment - with a smile.’ The VO took a deep breath, typed briefly and then for the first time checked my passport. He asked if the UK visa on it was for family vacation as well and I answered in the affirmative. While he was typing yet again I bent towards my first son and whispered audibly, ‘ you’re going to America son’ the VO paused at this point and said ‘I heard you’ while he smiled and then said ‘I have approved you visas bla bla bla.’ I rubbed her tommy, kissed her on the forehead before even telling the VO thank you. He then said safe journey and wishing you a memorable delivery. I may be wrong though, but my experience with the male VO was different, the other lady VOs denied every single person while we were there. |

Opeyinka: I was last in The UK in 2010 for Visit( 3 weeks). I have been to the United States more than 6 times after that and have been to some european countries France, Germany.
I want to apply for a UK visit visa but I am on my second passport after the one with the UK Visa. Do I drop my Application with All three passports, ( 2 are expired - The first with my Used UK visa, the second recently expired has a valid American Visa). I will like to show my travel History?
Is there a section in the form where they ask for Travel history? Do they ask if you have ever been to the UK or they ask with Time limit eg in the last 5 years or 10 years etc?
I want to go with my four year old child who is an American Citizen. How do I go about entry permit for my child?
I appreciate if any one can be of help. Thank you. 1. TLS guys won’t collect any of your previous Passports from you; they’ll only collect the current one as that’s where your visa would be stamped. However, there are questions in the application form relating to your previous passports - just fill in the details there. You then make photocopies of the bio data page and the travel histories from the old passports. TLS will scan the copies for you. Please make sure they are in A4 size, otherwise they’ll be rejected. 2. Yes there are question on how many times you have been to the UK in the last 10 years, the purpose and date of visit as well as the length of stay for each visit. There are also questions around how many times you have visited Australia, Canada, Newzealand, USA and Schengen area. Similar questions on date, purpose and length of stay are asked as well. Finally, they ask you about your visit to any other countries in the last 10 years - this is the category where mother Africa falls. 3. Your 4 year old is good to go. Americans don’t require a visa to visit the UK as long as the trip is for tourism or business. They are stamped in for up to 6 months on arrival. However they are required to provide justifications for their visit. Please note that you need to state in your form that your child would be traveling with you. The child however does not require to fill any form given the child is an American. 4. All the very best! |

rochf10: Hello again gurus. In my reapplication, is it okay if I submit a 6-month bank statement of my salary account with the normal incomings and outgoings of our salary, but with available balances only in the last 3 months (with still sufficient fund of 3-month worth of salaries and then submit as a supporting document my savings account (but only for the last 3 months)? Or will it appear suspicious as my reason of refusal is unexplained deposit in my savings account. I just want to cover all bases and leave no room for the ECO to again deny my application. I am paranoid that he would not accept my explanation (which is if course the truth) of the unaccounted deposit? Thanks in advance for your input I will advise you wait for another three months and have a single clean 6 months bank statement. Please do not give the ECO any room to refuse your VISA application. |

worry357: That is a lawyers answer! If you state that you are visiting for severn days, then stay for three months. You will have some very hard questions to answer when you next try to renew your visa. VO will think that you lied to them.
Well, inasmuch as you do not overstay your VISA, I do not see the hard question you have to answer. Please note that circumstance changes as well. I have stayed in the UK for over two months at a go before (was on a 6months VISA then), even though I indicated 5 days during my application. Up till today, I have never had any issue with respect to renewing my VISA and I am yet to answer any hard question! I am not convinced that it is a crime or a potential lie if you do stay beyond the time stated in your application; the application is just a guide if you ask me. Mind you, I have also not said people should stay for 180 days at a go, if there is no major reason to do so. |
