michlins: I don't know the exact locationin Lagos but if it's possible for a truck to get there, I will be there with my team and execute your job. Let's discuss and iron out the issues, I can do it Ok, give me the quote for the following: Size.......Units 4x4..........31; 3x3...........9; 2x2..........15; 2x4...........1; 6x4...........1; Please provide an indicative amount for the transport as well. If your total cost is close to what’s obtainable here, then we have a deal. This design is ok but I hope it is strong though.

michlins: I'm based in Nnewi Anambra State but I can work where the job is. Stuff like standing tank MUST be done at the site, handrails is my duty to hang them and weld them together. So yes, I can work where you want me to I really really love your works as displayed on this forum. But that distance is a tough one for me, given the site is in Lagos. Maybe we can plan it properly and work something out on my next project, God willing. Compliments. |

multikolour: mine I got a quotation of 285 from 4 different people, I bought 300sqm because of wastage. I was on ground at the shop during loading and I was counting them in bulk of 30sqm. But to my surprise, after installation 300sqm finished with the work still pending and I have to add 15sqm to complete the house.
If they will cheat you they have so many ways to cheat. I read your comments and can relate; I feel sorry for people. The truth is, a roofer that wants to cheat you would still cheat you irrespective of any control you put in place. Just hope for an honest roofer and leave the rest in the hands of God. I just don’t get why we are terribly wicked against one another for no just cause. |

I was hesitant after reading about the lamentations of some people that have been scammed on this platform but with courage and after doing some due diligence on money121’s work on some pages here, I decided to give working with him a try.
I chatted him up and he responded immediately even though I didn’t mention I was a prospective customer, but was only trying to gauge his professionalism. I was satisfied with his responses and for the first time in my life, I chose to do business with someone I have never met.
After negotiations, I transferred over 90% of the cost (2.4m) to him and in less than a minute I got a response confirming payment. Few minutes later he sent pictures and videos of the roofing materials being loaded. In less than 24 hours, the materials were on site and the roofers had already started work. His turnaround time is unbelievable!
The materials supplied was 22sqm short (this was my fault as I initially disagreed with his measurement but now I know better). Despite the inconvenience I caused him, he personally brought the remaining materials to site and that was really touching. He completed the entire work in less than three days despite the imposed curfew and some restrictions in movement.
In all of this, some qualities I noticed are: 1. Good interpersonal skill 2. Honesty and transparency 3. Customer service 4. Respect and commitment 5. Amazing turnaround time 6. Real time two-way communication and feedback.
I recommend Imran (money121) for your roofing works based on my personal experience with him. God bless you sir and may your business continue to grow!

chimexdnice1: Good day everyone. Please I would like to know the difference, or rather which one is better, between itara and kokogbo hardwood? My capenter prefers the later as opposed to my choice. Please advise. Thank you. I will go with Kokogbo. It’s reddish in colour and looks very beautiful on your house after the wood works are completed. I was told it also doesn’t require any treatment. It’s a little bit more expensive than Itara though. Both are good hard wood, but kokogbo is it for me. |

earthrealm: so who is correct btw these 2 gentlemen, has anyone tried this parapet approach?. the conventional method has always being coming from the ground up, and if your tank is at least 10ft above the parapet, you would have good pressure everywhere. from my lil understanding of physics/hydraulics, this ground/conventional method will deliver more pressure than the high/parapet method.. i am waiting patiently too for someone to bridge these two perspectives. it looks like the solution is subjective, but im tending towards 'ground-up' approach since everyone seems to agree there'll be no pressure problem with this approach. will ensure the tank is high enough. |

jabolo: Correct. This is the only issue. Utility and maintenance.
Water pressure is determined by difference in height between the tank and point of use so doesn't matter if the pipe runs via the ground floor first but any longer pipe run will involve more losses. than you for your contribution. |

shortgun: Don't connect the water supply through the parapet...this will not increase water pressure rather it will decrease it. There will be no enough head. The best solution is to use weight of the water from d water tank to drive pressure.....as the water descends from the tank it will gain pressure to push up. many thanks for your advice. i will consider this proposal. |

Hello All, please I need your advise and counsel on the plumbing work below. The plumber advised we connect the water pipe through the parapet because of better water pressure and because the Stanchion would be placed very close to the building, hence the pipe connecting the water tank to the first floor won’t be noticeable. While the water supplying the first floor passes through the parapet, the one for the ground flow will be connected to the building underground. Please I need your advise if this is ok or otherwise. Thanks!

pheemeehan: Having valid US Visa is not automatic approval for Canada Visa. I once experienced that too. Canada only honoured a used America Visa. I will advise you visit US first and when returned you resubmit application definitely you get your Visa. Using a US visa does not also guarantee a Canadian visa. I have legitimately been to over 12 countries including the US and was denied a visit visa to Canada. I wrote a strongly worded mail to them and requested for GCMS notes. They wrote back and apologized and promised to prioritize my application next time and ensure a different set of visa officers attend to my application next time. I can bet there was a mix up with my application. My view is that there is no straight jacket approach to this Canada visa thing. Just put up a tight application and hope for the best. |

Is this a visa renewal or does the applicant have a valid US visa? Does it really matter? That application was refused! Your US visa twist would have been applicable if the visa was grated. I believe it’s either this is a terrible mixup by the VO or the application was badly put together. |

Sholaystar4me: Hey Zee,
I don't know if you have gotten help to this but I just wanted to point out the reason your mum got rejected, I have read on so many thread and of the reasons for refusal is the fact that you stated YOUR MOM IS COMING TO HELP NANNY YOUR BABY. that singular line is the only reason or one of the reasons she got refused.
Remember, when you are applying for TRV, esp as someone visiting, YOU MUST NOT WORK , so stating that ,triggered that fact, which means when your mum gets to Canada she will be working as a NANNY.
To anybody applying for supervisa, never state in your letter that you are having a baby and your mom will come around to help you with the baby cos then you have to go back to work etc.
Disclaimer: I am no immigration expert, it's only through the research done over the months that I have noticed this pattern of rejection.
Victory is from God alone! Your assertion is not correct as there is nothing wrong in stating that grandma is coming to take care of the new mum and the little one. People state that in their letters and they are granted Visas. She was denied because of something else. Maybe she did not have sufficient funds in her bank account at the time of application to prove that she can take care of both herself, grandma and little one for the number of weeks grandma will be spending with her. |

Aduke02: It is very clear that there is something in your GCMS notes that they do not want you to see. You can file a complaint about the delay of your GCMS notes to the Information Commissioner here: https://www.oic-ci.gc.ca/en/submitting-complaint . They are required by law to release your GCMS notes within 30 days of your application.
Also, the trend with the London Office is to just deny applicants without actually doing a thorough review of their files. My boyfriend's GCMS notes confirmed this and we are taking the appropriate steps to contest this ineptitude. Its a long, expensive process but IRCC has left us no choice. We also sent a reconsideration email the same day we received the decision but we have not heard anything back from the London office. I am just waiting patiently for the 28 days within which they are to respond before following up with their office. Na wa o. I’m a bit surprised they are yet to come back to you despite asking for a reconsideration on the day of receiving the decision. Thanks for sharing the link though. |

Bhorbymills1990: A friend of mine applied for visa but got rejected due to the following reasons 1. There are reasonable doubts about your intention to leave the territory of the Member States before the expiry of the visa.
2. The purpose and circumstances of the intended stay have been insufficiently demonstrated
Should he Appeal or How would he solve this issue on his next application?? Are you sure this is not a Schengen visa application? |

Update Just to give the house an update on my previous application and my learnings from the whole process. You will recall I got denied sometime in December and a number of people here believed I’ve got a strong profile. I was shocked I was refused as well but life goes on.
Letter to the immigration office After ruminating on the whole issue, I decided to write them a strongly worded letter. I sent it to all email I could get a hold on including their minister. After a week without any response I sent them a reminder stating I thought I could get justice to an obvious error from their part but they have proven me wrong by failing to respond to my mail and then wish them best of luck. As if that was the joker, exactly after three days of sending the reminder email, I got a mail from the London office stating that they have forwarded my enquiry and reconsideration to the appropriate section. A week after, lo and behold, I got a very long email from the London immigration office. It was indeed a very long mail. They explained that they were sorry about my application and that in most cases the VO’s decision is final and that unfortunately my case file was already closed. They said if they had gotten my enquiry earlier, they might have been able to do something about it. They advised I reapply and that they will do everything possible to make a different VO review my application this this around.
GCMS note I applied for my gcms notes since last year to understand the thought process of the VO and up till now I do not have the document. I have called severally, and they keep telling me that my file is classified and that the immigration office have instructed them to inform me to wait for another 6months. Perhaps the content of the gcms note is ridiculous and they are just buying time.
My thoughts These guys make mistakes. And it’s a shame that their secondary reviewers at times do not pick these obvious mistakes. If you have a true ground for a review, please do not waste time, do it immediately you get the refusal mail. I am 100% sure I would have had the decision overturned if I had sent in a reconsideration email on time. I intend to reapply in April and lets see what happens then. |

If one of his supporting documents is the correspondence from his doctor for him to come for a medical checkup on the previous procedure, then his application is definitely for medical. Medical visa doesn’t preclude you from visiting people and places, so he would be able to visit his daughter. But he might be denied because he abused the previous visa by using a visit visa for medical. He should have notified the embassy back then before traveling for the procedure. passionup: My people,Good evening to you all. My uncle want to apply for a Canadian Visa. He has had 2 diff sets of Canadian Visa ranging form 3 yrs and 2 years respectively. During the validity of his last visiting Visa, he undertook a medical procedure in Canada which he had paid for fully. The doctor is requesting him to come over for a check up and his previous Visa had expired. I want to know which Visa is he going to apply for now. Is it medical or visiting? It's a bit confusing to me because he would also be visiting his daughter who is schooling in Canada too within the period of him attending to his health there. Gurus in the house, kindly respond and explain the appropriate step to undertake in renewing this Visa. Thank you |

Patience is a virtue! Just be patient they will eventually release it. Those guys are erratic; they can be pretty fast (within two weeks) and I’ve heard of 3 months as well. Just recently, my boss had to write them to cancel his visa that he doesn’t need the visa any longer as he needs to travel the following day after waiting endlessly; that same day was when they released his passport to him with visa on it. At times, they run out of visa slip as well; this is Naija. Timioguntuyaki: Hello all, thank you for all the good job you are doing here.
I submitted a visiting application for my wife and it got approved on November 21. She submitted her passport as requested at the VFS global office on November 22. They sent an email after the submission that the passport is under processing at the IRCC Office in Lagos OC. Since then, there has not been an update on her application and when the passport was tracked, it showed 'No Records Found'.
We have sent emails to both the VFS and Lagos IRCC office, no response yet. Please has anybody had a similar experience before? what do we need to do, please? |

Like I said before, the refusal is baseless and hilarious. I honestly think the VO made a mistake; they are humans you know. To answer your question, both of them are legal residents, they went to Canada via the PR parole. I believe they are also comfortable as one just bought a house. They come to Naija once in a while. I wasn’t just interested in relocating otherwise I would have been a naturalized citizen by now. I am not offended by your questions at all, please feel free as others may also learn one or two things from them. I have requested for the gcms notes as I would love to understand their thinking pattern that led to the refusal. OmoBendel24: @the bolded is fair enough in my understanding, it most likely isn’t the issue then, and it couldn’t be coming from your other visa usage too as it seems.
You didn’t touch on the below quote in blue, no offence intended please, just trying to zero in on what may have gone wrong based on my understanding of your lead post sir.
“But then, were these in-laws’ details stated in your application, and how did they get into Canada? There may be a strong perception by the VO of deliberate dissociation of self from them for evasive reasons due to one shortcoming or the other, and even a personal ulterior motive.”
Regards! |
