Hello guys
I was supposed to resume my Graduate teaching assistant position in August 2023, in the US but due to visa delays, I deferred my admission to Fall, 2024.
Now my visa is approved and my program coordinator says the GTA position is no longer available.
Can anyone please advise me on how to get grants to my PhD study.

I just had my F1 interview this morning.....
Only one VO, a female.
Served all the 8 persons before me the blue paper.

She gave me a white paper with my passport and said I will be getting a mail in the next 24hrs.
I should follow the instructions and fill out the form.
I asked why is she not taken my passport, she said I have been placed on administrative processing and that my program starts in August so I still have four months.

Any suggestion is welcomed...

Looks good overall. But can you try to include the timeframe you have the two Masters degree? The officer might get confused, and When they're confused, they won't bother to clarify from you as they don't have time like that.

You already have an edge. For an F1 Visa, they most often just want to know how you'll cover the cost. With you assistantship, that is already covered.
Thank you, I will remember to do so.

Hello Everyone, trust you are doing well. Spring break will soon be over, by next week admission and funding decisions will start rolling in.I pray we get that congratulations news we all long for.

Anyway, I have been invited for an interview for a GTA position, please what should i prepare for? What are the likely questions that I should look forward to.

As you tell your story, ensure that you discuss the research experience you have acquired no matter how easy/simple you think it maybe.
Also, tell your story in such away that will show that you have been doing something since you graduated, i.e don't leave any year in between. For instance, you can't graduate in 2015 and you are applying in 2023 without stating what you have been doing and how it concerns your study.
Goodluck......
