The two master degrees were for two years. i.e one master degree covered one year and the other for another year. The visa subclass was 573.

You just fingerprint as it is required and mail it back (ground mailing) with other information and that is it.

In other words, you are emailed the form from Nigeria... and u do the fingerprinting on it and complete those other fields and dhl it back to Nigeria... then it is taken to Alagbon for their part and payment and have it couriered back to u.

I really spent a lot of money for studying and living in Australia. I am waiting patiently for my invitation. I need to get police clearance certificate from Nigeria and I don't know the fastest and easiest means of achieving this. Any advice on this will be appreciated. Thanks.

I foresaw that accountants occupational ceiling would be reached by may after I had achieved my band 7 in IELTS, I had to estimate the time for skill assessment, this made me to select external auditor. I was confirmed by CPA that all 12 core knowledge areas were completed. Although, I have work experience as an accountant and also an external auditor but I didn't want to claim experience on these since I have my 65 points already.

You can get 5 points for studying in regional area. I studied for 2 years in a regional area and I was granted temporary graduate 485 visa (Post study work stream). This has already been confirmed and no further investigation. I have also done the EOI for 189 visa.

I am already in Australia. I came in as a student. Concerning police report from Nigeria, if that is your question, I am working on that.

@BossladyMo, thanks for your advice but my 65 points is exclusive of work experience. As for IELTS, I had at least 7 in each band that was how I got my skills assessed by CPA.

No I didn't apply for any registration or license. External auditor is on the skilled occupation list jst as other professions. All u need is to get ur skilled assessed positively by an assessing body of ur choice.

@preacher, I have gotten my qualifications assessed by CPA and I was confirmed academically suitable for migration. My bachelor degree was assessed as comparable to an Australian associate degree, ICAN qualification was assessed as comparable to an Australian bachelor degree and my two master degrees from an Australian university were assessed as comparable to an Australian master degree. Although, I didn't include my experience since I have 65 points. In addition, I have already filled the EOI online. I would appreciate your advice and your experience. Thanks.

@ewagbamio, I wouldn't advise you to apply for a remark because it is a complete waste of time and money. Ielts have a reputation to protect and they wouldn't want to jeopardise it. I have experienced similar issue. I had L 7, R 7, W 6.5, S 7 in general test and L 7.5, R 7, W 6.5, S 9 in academic test, I applied for a remark for both results and the outcome was unchanged. I had to take the exam again then I had L 7.5, R 7, W 7, S 7. Ielts is an exam of luck. You need to work hard on your writing and speaking. Speaking is quite easy. Best of luck

Greetings people. Sorry i am just responding to this. I have been on transit the last two days. Just arrived and its good to know that most of ur querries to me have been handled already. As for my timeline/experience, i believe i shared this in here (some pages back), but i will repeat for benefit of those that do not have time to go back.

Application received at CIC Novia Scotia - 30th April 2014.
Credit card charged - May 2014
PER mail - 5th June 2014
Additional Documents/Medical Request -28th October 2014
Medicals done - 30th October 2014
Additional doc received - 13th November 2014
Passport Request - 26th November 2014

The experience has been great (ofcourse it could not have been without everyone in this great house- special thanks to all the seniors). My candid advice to everyone still in this process; PLEASE learn to wear the garment of patience and always ask when not sure! Also learn to be meticulous and pay serious attention to details to avoid mistakes. Check, double check and tripple check!!!

@ Zeleez, mine took about 4 months before my account was debited. My method of payment was debit card. If you look at the payment form, it was stated that your credit card must be valid for at least 9 months after submission of application. I have no idea of how it takes for other methods of payment.

Proof of status:

Copies of
1)Record of landing (IMM 1000) or
2)Confirmation of permanent residence or
3)Permanent resident card
4)Photo page of a Canadian passport or
5)Canadian citizenship card

Proof of residency:

Copies of
1)Lease agreements
2)the most recent Notice of Assessment from the Canada Revenue Agency
3)an employer's letter confirming employment
4)monthly bills, e.t.c, (one page of each bill is sufficient)
5)credit card invoices and bank statements
Note the evidence should show the relative's name and full address in canada and must be less than 6 months old from the date of your application submission.


The above documents can be confirmed from the checklist.

bbamega: As par accommodation in Armidale ,presently when I know the exact time tyrex arrival he may just be fixed in Smith House I will actually confirm the cost of a room but I am currently paying 250dollars simply because of my family but I am trying to sort out my accommodation 2bedroom flat at queens Elizabeth drive at 220 dollars partially furnished,i don't think there is problem in getting accommodation .
This to anybody coming to Armidale please try to change your money at Sydney Airport and may be you sleep at Sydney and join train to Armidale the following day however,from Sydney to Armidale is about 8hrs plus with train ,Armidale is relatively cold and try to buy enough naija food ,I can assure you jst be bold with Immigration they are very friendly with us when I arrive and answer them all what they request if you don't understand try to ask them any question they are helpful.
