That's the procedure and unwritten tradition when it comes to dethronement of a first class monarch. His Grandfather Emir Sir Muhammadu Sanusi I was deposed and exiled to Azare in Bauchi (but later died in Wudil, Kano, many years after). Also,, Emir Mustapha Jokolo of Gwandu (Kebbi State, who was ADC to the then Military President, Muhammadu Buhari) was exiled to Nasarawa.

I beg to differ - Emir Sanusi is not more educated than Governor Ganduje. Sanusi holds a BSc in Economics (A.B.U) and an M.A in Islamic Law ( International University of Khartoum, Sudan. Ganduje, on the other hand - has an M.P.A degree (A.B.U) and PhD in Public Administration (University of Ibadan)

Going by acquired degrees alone, Ganduje is more 'schooled' than Emir Sanusi. Ganduje has a PhD in Public Administration from the University of Ibadan. He was reported to have submitted an outstanding thesis towards his doctorate.. One should be careful not to underrate Ganduje. He is as well-read and scholarly as Emir Sanusi even though he is not half-as-fluent.

Pamela Sadauki is not a Christian from Southern Kaduna (as one would expect). and she was indeed a deputy-governor under the transitional military regime. I don't think that the different accounts of how Buhari was arrested by the coupists in 1985 are too conflicting. It is generally agreed that the following five Majors were assigned to arrest him: Abdulmumuni Aminu, Lawan Gwadabe, Sambo Dasuki, Yohanna Madaki and Dangiwa Umar. We know that the majors effected the arrest after watching the 9pm NTA news with the general. The General was not handcuffed but a gun (or guns) was pointed at him. The point of argument is whether all four majors brought out their guns or whether it was just one of them that pointed his gun at General Buhari. It is pertinent to note that at the point of his arrest, Buhari knew that his Chief-protectors Col. Sabo Aliyu (the Commander, Brigade of Guards) and Major Mustapha Haruna Jokolo (his ADC and later the Emir of Gwandu) had been arrested at the Lagos Garrison Command Ikeja. Hence, he couldn't have resisted arrest.
