Politics / Re: Obasanjo Presents Soludo As Finance Minister, Tinubu Kicks by ucheewa: 8:47pm On Apr 06, 2015 |
Reference: I may not know much about politics and history. In fact I am so naive that being an Ibo I told my folks Jonathan needed not to have contested for Presidential elections and this was last year. But one thing I know is this: once the electorate get more informed these cabals will fear us. Rather than being sarcastic, why not support Buhari, seeing it is inevitable and educate people around you to ask intelligent questions especially from our politicians. i'd tell you a story once, a man on my street wanted to run for house of rep, yet he called no one in his neighbourhood for a meeting to inform us of his interests. His immediate neighbourhood was completely ignored. Can this happen in US? No. I've read Clinton's autobiography and see how the campaign to grassroot cos every vote counts. The electorates know the power of the ballot. Obama the same. Why not educate rather than discourage man? |
Politics / Re: Alleged Anti-igbo Comment: Catholic Church Group Tackles Oba Akiolu by ucheewa: 8:39pm On Apr 06, 2015 |
raumdeuter: Hey lets preach peace rather than hate. Two wrongs make no right. If the Arthur made a mistake must we quote him as if he has won the noble award for his stupidity? I am an Ibo but Jonathan made a mistake to air such a derisory comment. Airing negative publicity as such belittles a man. I refuse to comment on the Oba's statement cos it may not be true and even if it, it is now too politicized. I am not in Nigeria but I think the Ibos should vote who they think will improve Lagos rather than spite Buhari or fear any threats. Let's join hands to make Nigeria better. |

cheaperstores: This is the issue. Did you ask him intelligent questions like how is he going to achieve all these? Did you ask him how many jobs he will create? Does he know how much income Lagos currently earns? How will he improve that? How will he upgrade taxation? Loads of questions to ask. Look we don't need to played again. See how this Agbaje and the other APC candidate are polarizing Lagos. And we are educated yet we allow ourselves to be used. Come on folks. What is really important to us? Do we really care whether it is APC or PDP? If yes why? What we want is good governance. Time to start asking intelligent questions. 1 Like 1 Share |

Reference: Why? Come on be optimistic my friend. Nigeria is bigger than Obasanjo, Tinubu, Jonathan or anybody so be optimistic. This is why we the electorate need to be more proactive. We have left them for too long. For crying out loud this may be propaganda from PDP. It may also be true after all majority of APC folks decamped from PDP so none is holy. What we need are people who would put Nigeria first. If it is OBJ or Tinubu let's give them the support. I understand we need new players. But if we don't stay proactive any new comer will still be influenced to act the same. Change doesn't end here. It has just started so cheer up. |

Danrizzle: That is why we need to be united and stop allowing these guys divide us. Abraham Lincoln said the ballot is stronger than the bullet. Do you know we can recall a senator? These guys have been campaigning. How many of us cared to listen and weigh what they said? Were the realistics or just saying what we wanted to hear aka playing to the galleries? Are we being too emotional? Brothers and sisters let us unite and show what our collective efforts can achieve without being partisan and these politicians would respect us. |

tommykiwi: Don't be scarstic. Let us give Buhari a chance regardless of who you voted. With this attitude we will win. What do you really want? A healthy Nigeria or XYZ as president. Brothers and Sisters please lets stop all these. Be intelligent and let reason and logic rather than tribe, religion and politics win. Once our politicians realize we know our rights Godfatherism which is the bane of our politics will die because the president will appoint the best because he knows got their on through the help of masses who voted him rather than a Godfather. This what killed Jonathan. i thank God Buhari has a strong character. I pray God helps him |

What do you stand to gain with all these? Let's wake up and stop being tribalistic? If its Soludo, is he going to be working for SE or Nigerians? Enough of all these pointless tribal sentiments. What did the North gain from all their Generals? What did SE gain from Okadigbo, Anyim etc? These guys just trade on our ignorance. How does where the finance minister come from that affect us? Lets be honest, does Nigeria need 36 Ministers? No. I knew Jonathan was not going to do well when he appointed a lot of political ministers. Let's pray Buhari doesn't thread the same path. We Nigerians need to be more intelligent with our politicians and stop all this shallow tribalism and partisan bias. For instance, while Jonathan failed on a lot of things, not everything his Govt attempted to do were wrong as APC made us believe. For instance, they way out of the Power and oil crises is definitely removal of subsidy. Think about it the economics is sound. Investors can't invest in our power or downstream oil and gas with all these subsidies. Investors coming in will create jobs for us and even exploit for Eg. coal which we have in abundance. But APC let us think of the present alone and we kicked against it. I for one didn't trust them and I know many didn't but that's the way forward. I pray with Buhari (atleast he is honest) in power, we can attempt that again cos Nigeria is in need of investments which will create jobs. Lets think this way and stop being tribalistic or partisan. If PDP critizes APC for wanting to remove subsidy (every sane Gov will cos its killing us) or do anything positive in the interest of Nigeria lets resist PDP cos we youths need job opportunities. 1 Like |

For those who have not received any mail I suggest you check your alternative mail you provided when you were applying. I saw mine in my gmail spam although all correspondence with them so far has been through yahoo. However, I have also submitted my admission letter since. Just for clarification of doubt. 1 Like |

lazinc: Are you a past scholar lazinc? A former scholar mentioned something about PTDF making some arrangement with either our landlords or agents. Anyways, how about if you intend to go to schools without accomodation? Where do you start? Can you give us more generic tips. And I second the motion of a BBM chat group. |

DMainMan: @greatdave, catchdwind4rmkd, kenevics, ucheewa. I think this is where we need the help of past scholars or perhaps we should just wait till induction. Who has gotten a Cert of Acceptance? That's most crucial for now. |
