Did you vote for EMI LO KAN! Cjrane2: Please, I am urging Tinubu and the APC leaders to stop blaming Buhari and take meaningful action for Nigerians. We are aware that Buhari's tenure was problematic, but we expected that by now, Jagaban would be more focused on making positive changes rather than continuing to blame Buhari, whom he helped bring to power. This behavior mirrors how Buhari wasted eight years blaming Jonathan while overseeing unprecedented theft and corruption by government officials.
I am pleading with Jagaban to address the extremely high cost of food and stop shifting the blame to Buhari. It is unacceptable to expect people to simply ignore their hunger and the soaring cost of living because of constant finger-pointing. Nigerians need real solutions, not excuses. |

You should not be surprised by his viewpoint. As a Fulani and member of the ruling Muslim North elite, a restructured NIG will end his freel lunch. His nit the problem. We understand his fears. It is the Yorubas who mouth restructuring when out of power and when finanlly wins power, they sacrifice cause of restructuring for political peanuts. ElSudani: The system was not allowed to mature before it was thwarted. Yet, these were the golden years of Nigeria as a nation. Go back to regionalism. i see the below as very instructive
For it is absolutely impossible to establish any political stability on the foundation of the present consumptive, prebendal, and pathologically unproductive economy with its suicidal dependency on oil. Is anyone talking about the moral structure of a country with a few bloated billionaires and millions of impoverished, disarticulated people? The way things stand today, every corner of Nigeria is a potential den of hungry Avengers.

What were your leaders doing when the born-to-rule power mongers were forcing the colonial masters to rig the system for their exclusive favor? Why didn’t your myopic leaders protest by insisting on having their own independent country where merit & competition will be the criteria for recruitment? Una no dey shame. Always blaming Northerners for your political enslavement when you should be blaming your own MUMU leaders. Racoon: The colonial masters ensured merit counts to the letter Only the most brilliant and academic sound goes to Sandhurst Military Academy( SMC) England where they spend about two(2) to earn the Queen's commission as second lieutenants. This was the case with Gowon, Alexander Madiebo, Maimalari, Nwawo, and host of others.
Meanwhile, others not deemed academic sound or fit are often sent to Mons Officers Cadet School Aldershot- England and other British military training institutions.
Everything was going on well until the born-to-rule feudal powermongers can't stand it anymore hence decided to start forcing the colonial master to introduce the skewed and defective quota system criteria to smuggle those who eventually bastardized the military and ended up do same to Nigeria's politico-military journey. |

So true! I don’t blame Buhari. I blame the SOPHISTICATED MORONs that voted him into power. They’re the DUNDEE UNITED. Racoon: https://twitter.com/NigeriaStories/status/1781283105342451833?t=WI8q0JFGHUtTtQv3PCAH6Q&s=19
"One year after he left; he disappeared back into oblivion like he did after he was ousted by IBB. He won’t lead any regional or continental efforts towards better elections, & in deepening democracy. He doesn’t inspire anyone; he remained ineffectual & aloof (in & out of office).
Since Buhari left office, he has holed up himself in Daura. Neither ECOWAS nor AU have found him worthy for any international assignment including the simple task of monitoring elections in Senegal or elsewhere.A truly unfortunate character who had no business running a Local government not to talk of a country. Buhari was just unintelligent, colorless, with a wicked touch of nepotism, incompetence, & unholy corruption. A hound that attacked the very essence of your livelihoods.
In contrast, take a look at Goodluck Jonathan, as weak as he was presumed. He is still going around the globe, making impacts,Today they now invite Jonathan for govt functions, the same Jonathan they carried his mock coffin, just because they wanted power they got the power but they can’t fulfill their promises to the people. Look at Obasanjo, years after, still going to Nations, making impact, the man that called some people DOT in a circle has returned to a DOT, totally forgotten.
If there was anything worst than ineffectual, he would have made the cut. He couldn't even inspire himself. Everywhere he went, he left the stench of poverty, hopelessness, despair, & regrets.Today, only two people hype him. They do so not because of any type of real achievements, but sycophancy; the type that defies every sense of obligation.
He was the representative of a Nigeria that cried for help. The proof that popularity is not at par with capacity. How will you run a country for 8 years & no one will invite you to give a lecture, nor deliver a "one-line" keynote address? In the life of me, I am yet to see a man as insignificant as this one.
My prayer is that someday, somehow, Nigerians will recover from the torture & the trauma. An unfortunate event in your annals of History; both as a military head of state, & a civilian ruler. Like in all Forms of Rule, there is decline & plenty. But he took Nigeria to a place less than obscurity, & left many in multidimensional poverty. He offered no apologies, & blamed others but himself.
In fact, he warned that “under no circumstances should anyone invite him to render an account of his misrule.” I doubt if anyone calls him for a naming ceremony. Very insignificant thus far; no impact, no legacy. A colorless personality, he won't even write a memoir of himself. The fact that they can toy with your lives, & get away with it, is the most depressing. Such a privilege don't exist in other climes. And this is only a glimpse of how ineffectual & aloof he was. How do you hate your country so much?
One could argue that some people used him to get to power, for their own selfish use. Having achieved their aim, they let him slide back into oblivion (to enjoy the rest of his misspent obscure life). A calamity that befell a people. A plague that defied every logic. History will remain unkind to him...." Credits - OPs. |

So why did Awo who advocated for secession clause in 1954 fight against secession when it finally happened in 1967? Does it mean that he was merely grandstanding when he advocated for the inclusion of clause in the independence constitution. Action speak louder than words.Zik verbally opposed secession clause. Awo on the other hand fought a war & killed millions of his fellow Nigerians who actionalized the very idea Awo advocated in the past. How do you explain the dissonance between Awo’s words on secession & action on secession? BlowYourMind: If zik was wise and had foresight, he would have opposed the removal of secession, but he is blind to the future, he want to be premier in the south west. |

Politics › Re: Expose: What Lead To The Biafra War by Uchek(m): 9:24pm On Jun 07, 2024 |
So true! Boomkalakuta: The massacres were widely spread in the north and peaked on 29 May, 29 July, and 29 September 1966. By the time the pogrom ended, virtually all Igbos of the North were dead, hiding among sympathetic Northerners or on their way to the Eastern region. The massacres were led by the Nigerian Army and replicated in various Northern Nigerian cities. Although Colonel Gowon was issuing guarantees of safety to Southern Nigerians living in the North, the intention of a large portion of the Nigerian army at the time was genocidal as was the common racist rhetoric among Tiv, Idoma, Hausa, and other Northern Nigerian tribes. With the exception of a few Northern Nigerians (mainly army officers who were not convinced that Igbo were innately evil), the Southern and Eastern Nigerians were generally regarded at the time in the North of Nigeria as described by Charles Keil:
"The Igbo and their ilk...vermin and snakes to trod underfoot...dogs to be killed." |

Absolutely right. He could have maintained a NEUTRAL STANCE and allow North & East to settle their political score. But he joined his enemy, Arewa North, to fight East just because Gowon “promised” him post-Biafra Nigeria presidency. DMerciful: He could have stayed neutral and preoare for a possible failure of the Nigerian state to pull his people out. By encouraging Gowon to create 12 states, he ruined the regions forever.
