That means if I submit it, I’ll be given 8 months Canadian visa

I proceeded to renew my passport online and immigration denied my application saying I can only renew a passport with less than 6 months validity

Are you in Nigeria? If yes you can still get a new passport depending on how much time you have to submit your passport. Currently en route to collect my new passport. The old one will expire in February 2025 before u can submit an application.

**Application Timeline:**
- **Applied:** December 15, 2023
- **Biometric:** December 21, 2023
- **Passport Request:** July 9, 2024

This is my first time applying to Canada, intending to visit my younger brother. Despite previous visa refusals 2 for the USA, 4 for the UK, and 2 for France), I managed to do the visitor visa application myself, and with God's grace, it was perfected.

The bolded will result in refusal under paragraph 220 (a) (b) (c) of IRPA ..applicant must satisfy an officer that they have sufficient funds without working in canada to maintain and accommodate themselves and any family member accompanying them to canada..
Furthermore co op was designed to obtain work experience in canada..

I don't think you understood. I'm saying to show more than enough funds for the months to live in Canada as well as the tuition (after the scholarship is factored in). Then, the co-op money could be factored in as an extra, not necessary for life

He seems to be suggesting altering bank statement to show a lot of money, much more than is necessary. Based on the particular case, he has a scholarship, his actual tuition fees are relatively low. The main thing is to show enough funds for living expenses while simultaneously explaining that in fact, he has started studies online.

People have also been refused when they had large POFs but could not prove the source or the reason they were leaving Nigeria despite all that money.

Please, don't make things worse for us. We've noticed a trend of refusals due to insufficient financial assets even when there's more than enough funds. If you should submit an altered account statement, you'll only make IRCC put us Nigerians under even more scrutiny.

And not only will you be banned from Canada, they will inform US, UK, Australia, and New Zealand about your fraud, and all those countries will likely refuse your future visa applications too.

I can't understand why you would even consider doing such a thing. Why not work for some time and save up, then apply when you have enough?

IRCC has these financial checks in place for our own benefit. If you don't have enough money to sustain yourself, how can you survive in Canada? You'll be driven to work illegally, which will only make matters worse for everyone.

Please, don't do it. IRCC will definitely check with your bank and you will get caught.

IRCC gets roughly $100 million a year from govt. This is in addition to ALL the monies generated from all the different application and penalty (if you apply late while in Canada) fees. If you use a fake/modified/altered account statement, they will catch you.

The funds you need are under $10,000 or max $15,000. You already have a scholarship and have started studies online. This shows that education is more important, not moving to Canada. This will also reduce the amount of months you need to prove

You have NOT yet submitted an application. Your application is mostly for the Co-op work permit. You may include co-op earnings (perhaps using 20% higher than min wage as a min reference).

- You need to submit NOW
- Explain that since you have started studies online, months in Nigeria should not be counted towards your $1,000 monthly need.
- Have enough funds to cover: fees that have not yet been paid, 18 to 24 months of living expenses, explain that your co-op will afford you the opportunity to work for X number of weeks (as specified in your admission letter); explain that this should also be considered a source of funds (using 1.2 x min wage x X weeks).
- Go straight with Canada, not the corners my bro.

You see these west worlds, they have a way of establishing requirements in their immigration systems to attract and allow certain type of profile to pass through the channel and come into their country.

You want to fake financial statements, your agent have advised you against it that it is fraud, you are still asking how you can circumvent it! How do you hope to succeed there if by any miracle you pass throuth and arrive there? Scaling the routine needs for survival won't last long like in Nigeria here where systems dont work.

You have to go back, reevaluate your plans. If you dont have at least N5m or your own, and/or cant get someone to commit N10m towards your dream, plus a significant scholarship sponsor, my guy, dont even bother going to submit any application because you will be tarnishing any future hope you had with this action.

You do not meet the basic eligibility requirements, let me put it plain to you. Forget this admission for now, go back and work on your profile, re-plan and find a way to improve your financial standing before your go back to IRCC.

This japa journey of today isn't for the downtrodden of Naija as earlier though. It is actually for those who were able to create opportunities out of the already basterdised system, hence if they move over to where systems works, they will excel super.

My brother, just take a step back and think creatively how you can package yourself to present an eligible profile before making any further atempts.

There’s something we must understand. If I ask a question it doesn’t mean I already went ahead to do what I’m asking, most definitely doing so for clarity and making assurances double sure.
Now let me say this, I grew up in a Country where that is very common till this moment regardless of the country, so I had to be sûre if that’s the case with Nigeria as Nigeria has a lot of red flags when it comes to Japa journey.
Now If you noticed I asked 3 questions
Weather or not MBS is better than SOA because I saw someone talking about it earlier up the thread.

Secondly I also said I was building my SOA reason why I asked for vouchers for Naira digital I don’t know if you didn’t see it. I’m not leaving any stone unturned.
If you further check my post you will see me asking for POF company of something better than the 3.5% I found.
I’m not out here to trying to appear rich to someone of people, I’m the one wearing my shoes and know wear it hurts me. Many people will come out here sounding all rich and stable I’m not in that category. If I get I get if I no get I go get I no dey form levels.

Your agent is right, you will be banned if the IRCC should detect any form of alteration on your SOA, it will not only affect your chances with Canada but with some other countries as well. if you POF is not enough find legal ways of working on it.

My father is my sponsor and he has a company
So we actually planned to use the company account which has over 1billion which is the total Credit balance for six months...but recently I saw a thread on twitter which says we shouldn’t use any company account for our study visa so now I’m confused on what to do should I submit his personal account?... just that the personal account is not huge compared to that one
His personal account is 250m total credit balance for 6months
So please guys how true is it that I can’t use my fathers company account when he’s the sole signatory to the account and I’m just 19 plus the company will write a letter indicating I’m the CEO’s daughter plus bank’s reference letter will also show that I’m the sponsors daughter

And should i just submit both his company account and his personal account

Well from the little i know, you can comfortably use your father’s account if it’s well above or just enough for your tuition + living expenses (+ miscellaneous). I hope this helps you and good luck.

MBS can be generated using your bank app. It is completely free if you are the recipient. It is delivered to your email address, and you can access it using your account number or the last four digits of your account number, depending on your bank. Running MBS tests helps you determine the best start date for your POF to show a healthy opening balance... or at least it did for me.

I've always liened my funds...at least since TB and FD rates became unreasonably low. When I submitted my application, my funds were liened, and my visa was granted. You can run a test by generating MBS for your own use.

So in essence MBS is better than SOA?
You know I used to think MBS is requested only if your benign sponsored and your sponsor will be the one to have their MBS send.
I’m asking so because I’m also building my account for my application too. I need more clarity on that. Please.
Also the whole POF thing is becoming more complex, travel Kulture is advising me not to do POF that I’ll be banned.
My agent who doubles as director of my school says I should do POF If my SOA is insufficient for visa application.

Come to think of it, what value does dropping PPR timelines and testimonies add here if you don't give insights into WHAT, WHY & HOW you did your application. What strategies you implemented, e.g how you structured & frequency of your emails, did you request your notes and when, did you engage MPs and how, did you file for family and how did you facilitate your documentation, how did you handle POF issues, and red flags in you application package, did you do upfront medicals and when, etc.

Just coming to say hey! i got my PPR really does nothing but give hope to both those who package a well thought out application and those who forged 99% of their documents to GIVE THEM HOPE.

However, you and I know for a fact that it is NOT HOPE THAT SWAY a VO's REVIEW OF YOUR ELIGIBILITY. While a stroke of luck may come into play to ensure that the VO is not "having a bad day" and commits too many oversight mistakes, THEY ARE MOSTLY INATELY OBJECTIVE IN THEIR REVIEWS, CROSS-REFERENCING VARIABLES & INFERENCES IN A WELL DEFINED & STRUCTURED PROCESS.

PEOPLE COME TO NAIRALAND TO GET SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS' INSIGHTS INTO THIS WHOLE STUDY & WORK PERMIT PROCEDURES AND NOT TO BE PART OF STATISTICS FOR SUCCESSES AND/OR FAILURES

Perhaps, we really need to take a step back and ask ourselvse, what are we really doing here. If not, lets just form our various demonination of religious groups and be doing daily devotions while we call on members to be giving testimonies so that others can so seeds for divine intervention and success assurance... lol on a lighter note though.

But please, we should stay focus on generating and giving insights, not testimonies. When i newly joined the study permit thread in part 21, that was how things were, i gained so much insights just following peoples posts, quotes, and arguments, i screenshot over 100 posts (it is now i am trashing all those) which positioned me for success, even at that, i was still 60-40% sure (Till date it is yet to dawn on me that i have scaled the first hurdle). I still remember this dude who will drop you NL specific posts reference link to answer any & all of your questions, genius!.... if that moniker come to this part, i wonder what posts he will reference to players in part say, 25 in the future. they will only come here to count the success rate of applicants at the time.

We need to dissuade this testimony routine, and finnesse of channelling new applicants to backend / private discussions cause that is what is happening and PPR quotes are fuelling this even more. Very soon we will only come here to count how many PPR we got this week, strike that. Isn't that what we are doing already?!!!

Suppose it is, should I show evidence of liquidated crypto asset, or I should just use a gift deed of support by my dad or sibling. From the little i know, you can use it but should make sure to use the description ‘’ sale of prosperity’’ while your credited then explain it in your SOP. As per to show evidence of liquidated crypto asset i really don’t know maybe someone more enlightened will answer but I think it might be okay.
2. Yes you will have to get the persons bank statement.
CAC registration documents, tax payment slips and sponsorship letter explaining to the VO.
