I understand the more time your application takes, the higher your chances of approval. If the application was not going to be approved, it would have been thrown out long ago.. usually 3weeks - 1month latest

This 2024 and Ircc have change now so delay processing no mean increased chances of approval as refusal rate are higher now!

I did not argue with you or doubt you but rather aimed to educate each other and prevent unnecessary confusion or panic. Could you please clarify which visa category your brother applied for? Was it a student visa, a Spousal Open Work Permit (SOWP), or a visitor visa while his spouse's Permanent Residency (PR) application is in progress or with usa visa?
Please enlighten us, so those using your experience as a reference will have accurate information. Attached are the applications for a student visa and an SOWP that were recently approved within 3 weeks . It would be dishonest for me to claim it as a visitor visa, especially since the IRCC tracking system omitted the medical test part.

It's true that the denial rate for canada visit visa is higher compared to the significant approval rate last year. It's noticeable that most successful applicants recently have a travel history or a USA visa. However, don't let this discourage you from applying. Just be cautious and avoid paying any agents, as they cannot guarantee a visa.

Mathematically, the processing time is now 7 years according to the agent. So, indirectly, the agent is telling the applicant that if you apply in 2023, you can expect your visa to be approved by 2030 😊. but the agent format may be right at-least Canada visa ban last 5 years so by 7th year the ban go don expire 😂😂😂

my own believe is that they hardly refuse Visa if it has stayed so long. very funny assumption =)

Nobody said the timeline should not be shared, but deception and falsehood should not be encouraged. Let everything we do be based on truth and not on sentiment or encouragement of liars. If asking for the truth feels like scrutiny to you, that is for you to decide, but I support only the truth, not fake testimony to deceive gullible people!

The applicant you're referring to possesses a UK student visa and a US visa. If you assert that Canada does not discriminate in visa issuance, yet the majority who received visas with no travel experience are now seeking asylum in Canada, then you think it reasonable to expect that they will continue to issue visas to the majority of this same category?. This is not discrimination, but wisdom!

I don’t have a U.S. visa. On the contrary I’ve been denied U.S. visa 4 times which I declared in my application.

Let just share the truth so not mislead others, in march 2024 u responded to Eriokanmi quote on usa visa can plus ,you said you qualify for can plus which means you have usa visa but today you said you have no usa visa.

Got the 9 Years Visa Multiple entry . Applied for a conference and was sponsored by my organisation. Git 6 months single entry visa for the same event last year sponsored by my organisation.

Applied 10th of May 2024
Got passport request 27th of May
Submitted passport at Lagos VFS 28th of May
Picked up stamped passport at VFS Lagos 31st of May.

Only immigration officers can cancel a visa if they find out out you lie in your application or they determine you’re coming in illegally.

Anyway, I believe you, I don’t want us to drag this further so we don’t derail the purpose of this thread.

Read my previous write-up; I never said the airline cancels the visa. If the airline is not satisfied with your explanation or you cannot provide what they request, then they contact the embassy regarding your visa. After a few questions, they will notify you that you cannot board and that you need to contact Canada immigration. Later, you will find out that the visa has been cancelled in your application portal , and the embassy will tell you to reapply. It happens.

The new rules that some passengers have to show invitation letters or hotel reservations are not set by the airlines but by those agents at the airport to make money for themselves. We are our own problem because we like to take advantage of others.

We all know that they will let you go eventually if you pay their price, but I asked my brother not to do that. I called a friend to write the letter and sent it to my brother.

In 2013, my wife wasn’t allowed to check in at Lagos airport because her UK visa had no seal. I believe they could fine British Airways if they had allowed her to travel with that particular visa. Anyway, she went straight to the UK embassy the following morning to rectify this.

You are a frequent traveler and it's easy for you to say this, but do you know how many new traveller have had their Canadian visa canceled because they chose to argue when asked to provide some requirements at the boarding counter? This is especially true for new travelers whose main aim is to use visitor visa and claim asylum and use agent for visa application and do not even know what the agent use on their application . Or will you argue that the airline has no right to report a passenger to the embassy? I personally blame our people for abusing every system and then turning around to blame others!

This is not true. Airline will only be fine if the passenger doesn’t have the necessary documents to enter into the country.

Can you define what is considered necessary documentation when a person is deemed unfit to enter a country despite having a visa and is turned back at the point of entry? I think the issue most of us are having is that we don’t see the problems created by our people using visitor visas to claim asylum en masse, but we rush to condemn the airline. Let me tell you, if the airline asks you for any documentation and you try to argue, they will pass you to the head, usually a white guy. He will contact the Canadian embassy, and don't be surprised if your visa gets cancelled, and there’s nothing you can do. You have to accept or reject it. I have seen that happen.

I think we all need to take a break from applying for Canadian tourist visas given the current high refusal rate. It just doesn't make sense to reapply as a tourist when your destination doesn't see you as one. The asylum seekers in Canada who have abused the visitor visa have tarnished the image and reputation of honest travelers, and we all have to pay for it as Nigerians. We can see the same thing happening in Europe and the UK. Everyone I know who applied for a Canadian tourist visa in November is receiving the same refusal letter, except for two people who have U.S. visas.it best to maybe reapply toward the world cup hopefully if Nigeria qualify
