OAM4J: The first thing to do is to define a Godfather. Who is a Godfather? then we know if Obj and Danjuma fit into that definition. In the Nigerian context a Godfather is seen as man or woman that influences the election or selection of a political office holder. That is my own narrow definition. |

Acidosis: I had the opportunity to watch the live broadcast. Believe me, he only said that due to the way the question was asked. He laid more emphasis condeming godfatherism. "I don't have a god-father but I respect elders", said Mr President. So I see nothing wrong with that. But it is a well known fact that Obasanjo exerts much influence on the jonathan administration, it can be seen everywhere. |

During the president media chat with journalist last night, the president answered a lot of questions and cleverly avoided many others. On whether he has a cabal or not he said this; I have no cabal, kitchen cabinet The President denied ever having any cabal or kitchen cabinet. “I have no cabal and I don’t also believe in any cabal. I have no kitchen cabinet, as I do not believe in kitchen cabinet. Any great leader can advise me on the right steps to take. The concept of kitchen cabinet is not my ideology. Before it was even changed to cabal. That gives it a negative connotation. I don’t believe in that. I don’t also believe in godfatherism because it has negative effects on the economy. I don’t have godfathers, but I have elders who offer advice and who I respect. If people say Olusegun Obasanjo and T.Y Danjuma are godfathers, it is ok.” source http://sunnewsonline.com/webpages/news/national/2010/june/21/national-21-06-2010-001.htmHow do you view the above statement from our president, do you think he has a Godfather? |

Good and useful contributions so far, but i will like to add something that i have not seen mentioned here. Setting up a blog or a website with good content is not all there is to attracting visitors to your site(s) and visitors means money in online business, you should also know that you have to drive traffic (visitors) to your sites. The easiest and cost free way of doing that is through SEO (search engine optimization) or organic traffic, where the search engines send free traffic to your site. Search engines uses several algorithm to determine website ranking and the most contributory factor is backlinks (that is the number of links from other sites pointing to your site). So after creating your blog or site ensure that you bookmark all the pages in your blog, link it to your facebook, twitter, linkedin, Google buzz etc, by so doing you will be having several one way backlinks pointing to your site thus increasing your search engine ranking.
Above all success in every endeavor starts the moment you take action. |

MJacksons: Mashoski, you started this thread. I did not want to join this 'fray',but I noticed that you committed a more serious 'Kaita' senseless blunder for which you also deserve to be hanged! How can you say to the world that we can still qualify for knockouts by beating S.Korea with only 1 goal, eh? And I'm surprised that no Nairalander has corrected this kaita unimaginable error of yours! Right now, we Lagerback's Super Eaglose have scored only 1 goal and conceeded 3, that is, -2 goals difference;meanwhile, S.Koreans have scored 3 and conceeded 4, that is, -1 goals diffence. So, our darling Eagles Lagerback's Super Eaglose need to score at least 2 unreplied goals against the South Koreans to qualify (hoping as we always do that Argentina will accept any 'Greek' gift).
When we Lagerback's Super Eaglose score 2 unreplied goals, then they will have 3 points and zero goal difference! But, if according to the Kaita incomprehensible insanity scenario you painted in your post, if Lagerback's Super Eaglose score only one (unreplied) goal, they will tie with South Koreans on goals diffence, but they will end up still losing out on number of goals scored! I do hope you understand now.
And really, I don't see how these bunch of Lagerback's Super Eaglose can beat the highly disciplined, cerebral and subtle South Koreans - IT IS IMPOSSIBLE MISSION!
Besides, assuming they even qualify, do they have what it takes to beat either Mexico or Uruguay in the 2nd round?
Again, on a wholistic level, we don't deserve any form of victory in the tournament, because we have not put our house in order first. Nigeria is upside down, no social amenities, nothing at all! Imagine, I had to go out to 3 streets away from mine to watch the match because my street has not had electricity for the past 2 wks. Nothing is working in the Nigeria, including its leadership. Nigerians are amongst the most corrupt and evil-minded people in the world - and, paradoxically, the most prayerful! There is 419 in everything - Banks (hiden charges as 419), etc.
And look at Jonathan, I felt like crying - he was the only Kaita president of all the 32 participating nations that left his duty post to come to South Africa to cheer the Super Eaglose to victory! And where is the victory now? A nation of vipers, snakes, chameleons, monkeys and baboons deserve nothing, but Kaita failures!
What we are all seeing goes far beyond football. Let us get serious in leadership and every other thing will fall in place. Look at America, they have the best leadership in the world and corresponding are the best in sports. Even in football (which they weren't good at 10, 15 years ago), they are now listed amongst the possible winners of the current World Cup and see the hand of God in their match against England.
A nation is only as great as it leaders wants it to be. guy aint u a nigerian, the change that u desire starts with u and me. when we change, nigeria change. when we stop allowing ourselves to be use as political thugs by this so called politicians and stop selling our votes and start demanding accountability from our leaders, then the march to nation building has started. |

bodejohn: Nigeria coach Lars Lagerback has revealed his disappointment with this side’s 2-1 defeat at the hands of Greece today, bemoaning the lack of communication between coaches and referees following Sani Kaita’s red card.
“It is difficult. Maybe I have been in this business too long,” the 61-year-old Swede told a press conference.
“I am extremely disappointed with the lack of communication between us and the referee. We were not allowed to speak to them and ask why Kaita was sent off.”
The Super Eagles took a first half lead when Kalu Uche's free kick crept in at the far post but goals from Dimitrios Salpingidis and Vasilis Torosidis left Nigeria with a mountain to climb in order to achieve qualification from Group B.
All I can do is congratulate Greece, they scored two and we scored only one,” Lagerback continued.
“We have to take this and restart tomorrow. The sending off was hugely important. Under the circumstances I am proud of the way we played with one man down.
“The ball seems to be moving a bit strangely, but it is the same for both teams so it doesn't matter,” he added, alluding to the mistake from his goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama that gifted Greece the winning goal good sport man |
