JaredNomak: I'm not a PDP apologist.
If you think producing a president from your region or a political party you have affiliations with will automatically elevate development or ameliorate sufferings in your region, then your problem can be concluded to be politico-emotional induced delusion.(no insults intended).
A president from South East region is a president of the federal Republic and not South East. He must work in accordance to the oath he swore to ensure that equity is properly safeguarded. If an Igbo President concentrates more on South East development, then he's no different fro Buhari who has appointed his aides mostly from his beloved North. GEJ was President for 6 years and Otuoke is complaining of lack of water. OBJ was president for 8 years and a head of state for almost 3 years, how did that change the condition of Osun, Ekiti, Ondo, and Osun? The northerners have ruled for 40 years yet their region is the worst in almost everything.
Charity begins at home. If you want to a developed South East, you must borrow a leaf from Lagos and Enugu, and Anambra states. They have little dependency on the Federal Government but they are ahead of most states in infrastructural development and standards of living.
Do you have to wait for your father to put food on the table for you and your wife and children? I understand where you are coming from BUT A Tribe occupying President/Vice position will help in representing their interest well inorder to avoid the marginalization issue and it attracts political respect. |

Udmaster, do you vote political party or political candidates at elections? Sorry, only the shallow minded votes political parties!
Was Sullivan Chime an APGA governor? Imo state under Udenwa, was the fifth richest state in Nigeria. Abia state under Orji Uzor Kalu witnessed many infrastructural development and redevelopment.
Lagos, under Fashola witnessed nearly all round development, how did Ekiti, Oyo and Osunfare under non PDP government that same time?
Don't let APC political hooliganism bully you into making conclusions bereft of common sense and fact. I can perceive a core PDP man talking.. I am talking about the Presidency/Vice and not state governorship. |

Since 1999 that Democracy was launched in Nigeria, I can confidently say that Igbos have not calculated the political tactics in this complex Nigeria very well due to the Greediness and Selfishness of Some PDP Igbo Chieftains. - What Have PDP done for the South East in the past 16yrs? but these selfish PDP Igbo chieftains keep rigging election and inflating results for PDP in the South East at the expense of our own APGA PARTY. - Taking a look at the Yorubas, they produced a President under PDP from 1999-2007 but yet supported Tinubu in building up their indigenous AD (changed to AC) Party, they use the AC and merged it with ANPP in forming APC and today, They are occupying the Vice President Seat. THATS WHAT YOU CALL POLITICAL SHREWDNESS. - We the IGBOS have been in PDP for 16yrs yet we did not produce a President nor Vice President under it, to add salt to injury, PDP have zoned 2019 to the North(a zone which voted against it in 2015). THATS A BIG INSULT. Even Nnamdi Azikiwe will shaking his head wherever he is now at our "david moyes" political tactics for the past 16yrs.
- My Beloved IGBOS, Let us go and build up our APGA PARTY and merge it with other interest affilates inorder for it to be a Strong National Party.. Let Us Also Support Our Igbo Men in APC and stop this insults on them like the (okoroawusa jibe). - PDP is DEAD and Will Be Given A Befitting Burial in 2019 Let it not be that The Great Igbos will be the only mouners for it in 2019. - GOD Bless The IGBO NATION thanks. |

HopeAtHand: Udmaster, so you spent your midnight arguing over issues beyond you. The British out of convenience lumped different ethnicities and used a uniform name to identify them. The Ikwerreman has nothing in common with most igbo clans. We cannot hear a sentence of what they say. They cant hear us either.
The British became aware of the situation when the Igbo union Bible was tested in Churches in Ikwerreland and it was a total disaster as the users were more confused when it was introduced. This prompted the teaching of Igbo language in schools in Ikwerreland.
The efforts made by Ikwerres to be recognised as a distinct ethnicity since colonial times until 1970 when it came to fruition cannot be over-emphasized. The question for you is why would Ikwerres ask for a separate identity from Igbos if they were our kith and kin. Who separates from family?? Pls grow some sense. hahahahahaha.. When you people were deported from benin according to ur clownish 1970 history, you people started stealing Igbo names, Dialect, deities etc. What happened to your benin identity? Equaino far back as 1768 in his biography told the world about his PROUD IGBO IDENTITY and many Igbo civilizations. - having many clans is a sign of a Big Tribe. |

Rather than engaging in practical endeavors to keep our various lects and cultures thriving and growing, some are here showing paranoia over Igbo Unity and throwing insults for no reason.
Anyway, leave Ngwa and surrounding communities out of this Nri discussion. Ngwa and co. have nothing to do with Nri. If you didn't know before, you do now. we are discussing about Nri Civillization. gykes: Iwhnurọhna people descended from the ancient Bini Kingdom. The name of the grand ancestor is Akalaka. Their relations in Rivers State are Ekpeye and Ogba people. The reigning Oba of Benin when Akalaka, the ancestor of Ihruọha (later called Iwhnurọhna) fled was Oba Ewuare (Ogwaro). Akalaka, a member of the Benin royal family, fled in the 13 th century on allegation of plotting assassination of the Oba. He died in 1462. Iwhnurọhna his third son settled east of the Sombrero River by 1538 AD.... I can draw you my family tree from this point with 100% accuracy down to my-ikwerre-blooded-self ....but... for security reasons, I wont.... thankyou
And if you still want to know how that name "Ikwerre" came to be, do ask....
Just so you know Ikwerre existed long before the civil war. I even had Uncle's who fought on both sides to the point where my dad had to be sneaked out of Ikwerreland to his maternal home (my granny's village in igboland - Abia state).... smh...
About the "attention" I'm so loving it.... so are you people so inferior that you people forgot your bini names, languages, and even deities.. Why did you people steal names and language dialet from THE GREAT IGBO TRIBE.? After civil war in 1970, you people start changing it to sound less Igbo.. Umuokoro turned to rumuokoro. Huh? Kirigidi: U need to correct urself! Nri (Eri) can't just b d founder or father of d all Igbo pipo/can. How can u ignorantly claim dat a priestly/warrior personality (Eri) who emerged only as recently as 900AD is d father of all Igbos? Do u knw dat Igbo pipo hav being occupyin dia present homelands hundreds of years bfor d rise of Nri? My point is dat Igbo communities hav been existing in d South-East long bfor Eri came wit his migrant party (probably frm d ancient Aka Kingdom/Benin during d Ogiso era in 900AD) to establish a kingdom in d midst of republican Igbo pipo. you are confusing urself here. This thread is about Nri Civilization and Eri did NOT Migrate from Benin.. Thats is insultive and a treason statement. - you people said dat oduduwa migrated 4rm benin, the yorubas shut you people up. - now it is Eri. Don't make that Blasphemous statement again. |

These ikwerres are funny.. Comparing themselves to THE GREAT IGBO TRIBE who established many powerful civilizations like The Nri, Arochukwu, Ohafia, Ngwa, Isuama, etc. Far back in the 17s, Equaino quoted proudly his IGBO IDENTITY while these ikwerre-benin clowns started just in 1970 in a bid to boost their low self esteem.. |

@bolded. Igbo has a new definition.
Igbo is defined as that Umbrella name or identifier used to refer to people within a geographical region or landscape who have no shared ancesteal origin for the ease of administration
Mehn, Lugard tried. See how he manufactured something out of nothing. you two love attention. The Great IGBO existed before Lord Lugard, ask about Oladua Equinoh back then who in his biography who pronounce his village and his proud Igbo identity. Go and read up. This thread is about Nri Civilization and not ikwerre. The ikwerre name you people bear is an Igbo word, that means you people have no history or simply cultural name stealers |

God created the Ngwas the place they are, they did not come from anywhere rather many tribes like mbaise, some parts of Ikwerre, Etche, and Ndoki migrated from Ngwa. I know that.. An Ibibio man, an Ijawman or whoever can make an input on this thread, they can state whatever they feel if they see any relationship with the subject matter. I do not understand why the postings by Ikwerres causes you so much discomfort. Im happy some communities in Imo state have ancestry from Ikwerreland. When Ikwerres want to secede from Nigeria and form our own country, we will not keave our kith and kin behind. SE Ikwerres will not be left behind. those people you are point out in imo are descendants of Arochukwu Kingdom during migration and many historians even ur own elechi amadi point it out in one of his books about Arochukwu and Ikwerre connection. - you may be shooting urself in the leg. --- |

So why do you think Ikwerre shouldnt be mentioned on this thread. Maybe u feel threatened by the truth. Well, going by your analogy that all Igbo originated from NRI and Ikwerre history has it that Ikwerre originated from Akalaka, ita safe to reaffirm that Ikwerres aint Igbo. I was thinking Oboni is peculiar to Igbos alone. Though its funny, when one of the guys explained to me that the culture was exported to Igboland from Ikwerreland. Kirigidi: Dat is a wrong assertn, guy! In terms of antiquity, how will u compare Nri (Eri) which startd in 900AD to d Ogiso Dynasty of Benin (Aka Kingdom) which began frm around 600AD and lastd uptil 900AD when it collapsd? There ar even insinuations dat d legendary Igbo "Eri" was an "Aka" (Benin) royal priest/warrior who left d ancient "Aka Kingdom" (Beninland) followin d collapse of d Ogiso Dynasty in 900AD, and migrated east wit his party where he founded a new domain/kingdom in d present day Aguleri/Umuleri areas of Anambra State. It is also probable dat d priestly kingdom establishd by Eri was later named "Eri-Aka" by his followers in remembrance of ancient "Aka Kingdom" where they migrated frm! hahahahahahahaha. what kind of thrash is this? I remember engaging some Igbos on NL about my ancestry and their false claim of Port Harcourt, they almost ate me. When I told them that Ikwerre has its roots from Bini and Ikwerre is the last son of the three sons of Akalaka - an exiled prince of Bini empire, some called me yoruba lol.
