A TRIP TO THE EAST
I have been in Umuahia since tuesday morning spending some good quality time with my friend and brother Governor Theodore Orji.
He and I went to Ohafia today to attend a grand reception held in honor of Chief Ojo Maduekwe, the former Minister of Transport, the former Minister of Culture and Tourism, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs and our serving Ambassador to Canada.
Ohafia is Maduekwe's home town and what a wonderful and charming place it is. Both Ohafia and Abriba (which is just next door) are really beautiful places and the people are so warm and friendly.
Both towns are high up in the hills of northern Abia state in the eastern part of our country and frankly I have never seen as many grand and beautiful hill top mansions in one place before.
It is like something from the great epic film titled ''Gone With The Wind''. You need to see Maduekwe's beautiful country home too.
It is simply extraordinary.
The igbo are truly amazing people and I am very proud of their sense of pride in their language, their culture, their history and their noble and illustrious heritage.
We have put the issue of the igbo/yoruba debate far behind us now and thankfully I am now at peace with my igbo brothers and sisters again. I give thanks to God.

When I informed some of my friends that I'm leaving for Abiriba alot of them expressed their reservations but alas the hospitality of the Igbo man is second to none. Udmaster, thank you for this thread. I have said it many times that Igbo nation should be separated from Nnamdi Kanu's IPOB. Just imagine the silly speech about wrappers. Imagine Kanu asking his followers to rise up and attack Pastor Kumuyi and kill Yorubas! Is that how he intends to get Biafra? What has a man of God got to do with his agitation?

I believe we Igbos can get a lot of what we want if we play our cards right in Nigeria but the reason why I get involved in all this Biafra talk is incase Nigeria eventually breaks up.

The Igbos will not force any tribe to be part of us but will accept any tribes that choose to be with us. All I am trying to point out is that Igboland is much bigger than the SE as defined by Nigeria, Igboland spreads into Delta & Rivers states. If Nigeria breaks we will take all our lands with us. The rest of the "We SS" people like tonyebarcanista and his likes can then form their ND republic. Thank God ijawcitizen has recognised this fact.


Another thing fundamentally wrong with Nnamdi Kanu's approach is that he did not make wide spread consultations, you cannot just sit down in UK, draw any map you like and begin to circulate as Biafra, this is the reason why these minorities are calling us expantionists. Consultation is key in this very critical issues. For instance if there happens to be any sort of agreement between the Igbos and the SS people to form any country the name cannot be Biafra, the name would be agreed by negotiations. Secondly we can go for a rgional system of government whereby we have two regions i.e. SE & SS. Each region would control it's resources and pay 20% to the center to fund a united formidable military. We can have a president and prime minister such that ifsay the SE produces the president, the SS would produce prime minister and vice versa.


This way, a society built on fairness and justice can be formed. This issue calls for a lot of mental work and not someone asking people to start killing their neighbours from one radio Biafra. As for the true size of Igboland, Cheruv has the map.

And it is the duty of Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo to do that.

You simple cannot do that because of the manner Nigeria is structured. The creation of 12 states, which is was the progenitor of state creations in the cesspit called Nigeria, was militated against everything Igbo to the point that certain Igbo people started to deny their ancestral lineage. In fact, further division of Nigeria into dysfunctional states created Igbo minorities in certain states of the cesspit called Nigeria. It makes hard for these Ndiigbo to survive in their forced respective states talk less thinking about uniting with their people in homogeneous Igbo states in Nigeria.

For me, OHANAEZE NDI IGBO should work out a plan on how to reach out to these groups and ReIntegrate them fully into the IGBO FAMILY.
