His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno (PhD). Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Government House, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. Your Excellency, I hope this letter finds you in excellent spirits. I would like to commence by extending my warmest felicitations to you on your recent accomplishments across various sectors in the state. Your exemplary leadership and vision have undoubtedly positioned Akwa Ibom State on a trajectory of unprecedented growth and development. As a concerned citizen and stakeholder in the education sector, I am compelled to bring to your attention a pressing matter that necessitates your urgent consideration. Presently, I am a PhD holder teaching in a secondary school under the auspices of the Akwa Ibom State Secondary Education Board. Alarmingly, there are over 10 secondary school teachers in Akwa Ibom State who possess PhD qualifications. While their expertise is invaluable, I firmly believe that their skills could be better leveraged in areas that align with their academic credentials. Currently, these PhD-holding teachers are deployed in secondary schools across the state, where their expertise may not be fully optimized. I humbly suggest that your administration consider redeploying these teachers to areas where their expertise can be more efficiently utilized, such as: 1. State-owned higher institutions: They can contribute to teaching, research, and academic development in these institutions. 2. Research departments in state ministries, parastatals, and agencies: Their expertise can be leveraged to drive research, policy development, and innovation in various sectors. 3. Capacity-building programs: They can design and implement training programs for teachers, civil servants, and other stakeholders. By redeploying these PhD-holding teachers, your administration can create opportunities for new sets of graduates to replace them in secondary schools. This will not only inject fresh perspectives and energy into the secondary education sector but also provide employment opportunities for young graduates. I firmly believe that this initiative will have a profoundly positive impact on the education sector and the state at large. It will also demonstrate your administration's commitment to optimizing the utilization of human resources and promoting excellence in education. Thank you for considering this suggestion. I eagerly look forward to your response and the opportunity to discuss this matter further. Please accept my highest regards. Sincerely, Dr. Uduak Etukakpan email: uduakabel@gmail.com |
