Congratulations sam4774: |
I had more than $10k cash with me so I had to declare it. Assuming I had less than $10k, I wouldn't bother declaring anything and no one would ask since I didn't declare. They might just ask to confirm that I don't have more than $10k cash, because you are supposed to declare any cash more than $10k I dont think they would really bother about proof of fund at the POE especially after you have been granted a visa. I might be wrong though. Stonehenge83: |
Well, I think the baby does not need a covid pre arrival test since he/she is less than 5years. Please confirm again before you travel Akannitommy: |
Amen. DeeWan: |
Congratulations to you and family too. I am currently in Saint John, New Brunswick but my POE was Montreal. I am also looking forward to connecting. Akannitommy: |
Documents they asked for pre-boarding ( Lufthansa airline) were Int'l passports with visas, Arrive Can, Covid test, and then they asked for employment letter but I told them I had an open work permit approval. They confirmed with their supervisor and I was allowed to check in. Before departure at frankfurt, they scanned the passports, Arrive Can and covid test result too. DeeWan: |
I travelled on the 6th of this month with my 3 children. At the POE(Montreal),you will need the Arrive Can, passport id at the self service arrival kiosk, then uoi proceed to the dynacare group for covid related matters then immigration. Asides from our int'l passports, the immigration officer asked for my husband's study permit. Unfortunately I didn't print a copy as I felt they won't ask for it. So I asked if I could show him a soft copy from my phone and he obliged. But somehow I still couldn't find it on my phone. I became frantic but kept searching and then after few minutes, he said "found it". Next, he asked if I applied for a study permit for my first child who is an American citizen and I said no. So he asked us to wait. And another round of fear started. I tried to remain calm. Few minutes later he called my attention and handed us the permits. Then he asked me to write exactly how much I had with me on a form( this is because I declared I had more than $10k). I eventually submitted the form at another counter. Everything went very smooth and easier than I expected. I got nervous over nothing. I will suggest you travel with every necessary document. Either you print out or have a soft copy that is easily accessible( phone, tablet etc) quote author=Akannitommy post=107746638]Does anyone know or have heard about whether SOWP and the accompanying kids (student and visitor visa) need to show POF at POE? Am just trying to think ahead...
|

Timeline Application submitted March 2nd, 2021 not 3rd Biometrics done March 5th Upfront medicals Feb Medical passed May 19 . Corr. Letter Oct 4th Ppr Oct 4th Doc submitted Hubby's study permit Hubby's statement of acc Coy's statement of acc( we manage a business) Coy documents Birth certificate of the children Passport data page Marriage certificate Degree certificate Sop( drafted by the rep but we made some adjustments) Resume Some property documents Police clearance....basically all that I can remember Application was for sowp(myself) and 2 children (study permit) Our medicals was reviewed after about 3months. This really got us concerned as we thought something was wrong. We reached out the Qlife and was assured that our medical was in order. After medical was passed, we got a request for the children's birth certificate and marriage licence which we already provided earlier. I wonder how they missed it. These were provided again and then the wait started. Aug 12th, review of the additional documents started. A week after, we asked our representative to send a webform to IRCC. August 25th, hubby and I sent separate mails to the MP. August 27th, we requested for gcms note and then started sending emotional mails with Urgent or priority mail as the subject every Monday, Thursday or Friday to Nairobi. This continued in September until we were asked not to send mails to them and use our representative. So we stopped sending the mails. At some point I was drained both emotionally and physically especially when I heard some of the people we knew had gotten theirs and had even relocated. I was hoping for a trip to Canada during the summer or before the new term begins. I broke down and my health was even compromised. The pressure and tension was unimaginable. We just wanted a decision made whether in our favour or not. At some point, I couldn't even pray. This period unveiled a stranger in me that I couldn't recognise. I had to start watching loads of comedy series and movies to take my mind off the whole thing. Travis Greene's crossover was also helpful and refreshing. It was difficult but I had to be very intentional about my mental and emotional health. Finally the notes arrived on the 30th of September and everything seemed ok but we were still worried. We still had mixed feelings until God decided to surprise us "the doubting thomas" yesterday with the "Eagle". It was indeed a pleasant one. To everyone looking forward to their ppr, please put your trust in God and he will grant your heart desires. Remember, his ways are not our ways and his timing is always perfect. Don't be like me , I worry too much and learning to unlearn this. Worry solves nothing. It shall all end in praise...Be hopeful Ufedoo: |
Guys...it is ppr. God is truly awesome. There is so much joy in our heart. I will be right back with our timeline. This is to encourage us to trust God always in every situation. We will come out triumphant. More ppr on the way IJN. |
Congratulations. Eilenora: |
Our representative advised we send mails sparingly and that sending multiple mails can result to a refusal. We had to insist before they sent the last mail to IRCC. This was last month, about 3 weeks ago. Lianna2020: |
Okay, will speak to my representative to raise a webform. Thanks alot
|
Okay, we speak to my representative to raise a webform. Thanks alot sam4777: |
Yes he contacted the MP twice. It reflected in the gcms that the Mp contacted IRCC and they responded. Meanwhile the MP said they have not gotten any feedback from IRCC. We don't know what next to do. Is sending a mail to Nairobi still a good idea even as I have been told to use my representative? sam4777: |
Amen, the wait is unbearable ajikaz2003: |
Yes, I can see application assignment but the due date underneath, is not given. The officer also assigned to it is not stated. The gcms is quite confusing, too many pages sam4777: |
Hello everyone, I have been a silent follower and have gained so much from here. I just had to join the platform today. Thank you to everyone for sharing their experiences and knowledge for us to learn from. I applied for sowp through an agent on the 3rd of March as hubby is in Canada for a 1 yr program that will end in December. We also got the silent treatment from IRCC until I started sending mails last month with ''urgent'' as the subject. I got a response from them saying correspondence regarding my file is directed exclusively to my representative (the agent). The agent advised us not to send more mails. We also requested for my gcms note in August which dropped yesterday. And the status of the TR shows ...in progress. Under assessment on the 2nd page, medical passed, biometric complete, criminality passed, info sharing complete, eligibility passed. Not sure what it means or if i translated accurately though. Please what pages are important asides from the last 2 or 3 pages with the Notes? Kindly advise |
