Ebonyi state IGR is 14,033,391,157.02 (14BILLION) with population is 2,600,000.00,it's igr per capital is 694.72 and the state is ranked amongest the 10 state with highest igr in nigeria,alongside with:Lagos, Delta, Rivers ,Edo, Akwa ibom, Cross River, Oyo, Ogun and Enugu. Ebonyi is even planning to increase it's igr by 2014, and I think it would be achivied;the rate at which the are investing in agriculture is commendiable.one thing about Ebonyi is that the money the generate are used to execute huge projects ,for example:the water project which had been completed by state goverment will supply the state with water,even remote villages will be supplied, this project is second to non in southeast.The state goverment lately,signed a memo with Japaness based industry to set up a huge pipe producing industry in the state, inorder to reduce the cost of supplying water to the whole community in the state.
what amazes me is the rate at which people who had not been to the state before,people who don't know where the state is located ,people who don't even know that the capital of the state is Abakiliki ,say irrational things about the state;things like nothing is happening in ebonyi,the state is just there,guinea worm is still dealing with the state and so on. virtual everybody knows that it has been long the state recorded any case of guinea worm,but some pepole keep on bringing this to the table any time there is issue about ebonyi. All these are being done inorder to make investor not invest in the state. God will keep on blessing Ebonyi.
