In Nigeria, we kill the animals before they kill us because we believe that some of them are possessed of evil spirits. Which way Nigeria

Chukazu:

The most fooli.sh aspect is when you see Nigerian celebrities going to South Africa and Kenyan like Banky W and Adesuwa (spending hard currency) to watch animals in their game reserve and we are busy killing our own.

Southern Africa makes millions of dollars in tourism while we kill bush meat and sell them for 20 thousand embarassed embarassed naira

It has been reported there just Les than 40 lions left in the entire Nation ,with such irresponsible hunting soon they would be all gone

Phones / Best Xiaomi Phones To Buy Right Now by Ugoeze2016: 6:05am On Mar 10, 2018
Xiaomi speaks two simple languages -- beauty and affordability. The company is reputed for its great effort in making beautiful iPhone-like Android smartphones with great spec sheets at very affordable prices. It's no wonder the Asian company has quickly grown to a world brand within a few years of existence. Xiaomi spares nothing in designing any of its phones, and it continues to remain a mystery how the company makes such high-end smartphones available to users at a budget cost.

We have reviewed some of the best smartphones by Xiaomi here. So, if you are a fan of Xiaomi phones or just curious about what the company has to offer, you might want to go through this review, and you'd be surprised at the excellent specs Xiaomi is offering for the money.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2

Xiaomi made a statement in the smartphone industry in 2016 with the production of the Mi Mix, the first commercially available bezel-less smartphone! The Mi Mix 2 is actually an upgrade of the Mi Mix, and as such comes bolder and sleeker. Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 comes with an impressive 5.99-inch display screen and is tri-bezel.

The body is all laid ceramics, with shiny metallic sheen only marred by a 12MP camera at the rear and a super-fast finger scanner technology placed just below the camera.

It comes with the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 CPU. This coupled with an abundant 8 GB RAM makes the Mi Mix 2 a device with superb performance and can pretty much handle any task thrown at it.

Price: N240,000 to N480,00 depending on phone memory

Xiaomi Mi 6

Xiaomi Mi 6 is the flagship of Xiaomi in 2017, and it really was impressive. The Mi 6 comes with the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chipset like the Mi Mix 2 and features an impressive 6 GB RAM. A key statement of the Mi 6 is the impressive 12MP dual camera which features a 2x lossless zoom feature -- the very first from the company.

The Mi 6 spec sheet is almost similar to the spec sheet of the Mi Mix 2, and if you're not sure which to go for, well here's a little tip: go for the Mi Mix 2 if you are hungry for bezel-less smartphone or go for the Mi 6 if you are looking for good photography since it really takes great pictures.
For Xiaomi Mi 6, the cheapest I have seen thus far is for N120,000

Xiaomi Mi A1

Xiaomi Mi A1 comes running on unadulterated Android Nougat 7.0. It's one of those phones considered as the saviour of Google’s Android One project -- a program to offer affordable smartphones running on stock Android to the larger population of developing countries at affordable rates.

The Android version of the Mi A1 comes unaltered. Aside from the ‘pure’ Android, Mi A1 also comes with an impressive display screen and is reputed as one of the best photography phones from Xiaomi. On the downside though, the Mi A1 comes with a larger bezel and a moderate 3000mAh battery. The premium iPhone-like design and impressive picture-taking ability are really the sale pitch of this smartphone, otherwise it is similar to the Mi 6 – inner-wise.

You can get this phone between N85,000 and N110,000

Xiaomi Mi Max 2

The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is what its name suggests -- the maximum Xiaomi! The Mi Max 2 comes with a massive display screen, impressive hardware sheet, and an excellent battery that will last for a couple of days when fully charged.

First off, the Mi Max 2 comes with the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 chipset processor. This coupled with the 4 GB RAM makes the Mi Max 2 a beast for even the heaviest user. The display is impressive -- a 6 inch full LCD screen with a 2.5D front glass. If you worry about your smartphone battery life then Xiaomi Mi Max 2 could help put that worry at bay -- it comes with a long-lasting 5300mAh battery which can last a couple of days when fully charged even with heavy usage.

Want to own this phone? Have at least N90,000 in your wallet

Conclusion

No matter what you're looking for, Xiaomi has something that meets your tastes. Looking for great cameras? The Mi 6 and A1 are your best option. How about long lasting battery life? Well, the 5300mAh of the Mi Max 2 certainly is the largest right now in the market. How about a bezel-less phone with a decent camera? You sure are describing the Mi Mix 2.

Are you enjoying any of these phones at the moment? Do you care to share your experiences, any problems?

OP, the world doesn't use or know Tecno, infinix or Itel.

A little research would have made you to omit Tecno from this list without spoiling this thread.

It's a great disservice to iPhone, Nokia and Samsung to put Tecno in thier midst.

You didn't even mention the Motorola RAZR.

I agree, Motorola RAZR should have been included, how can I forget "hello moto" ring tune

Phones / 5 Phones The World Will Never Forget by Ugoeze2016: 5:02am On Mar 03, 2018
No long talk, we are giving you a list of the phones that graced the world with applause. These phones will never be forgotten, and our lives have become better since these devices were introduced. Take a look.

1.
Nokia 3310 What makes this phone legendary isn’t the spec or whatever design we see on new devices these days. Nokia 3310 was just unique on its own. It was a very strong device that could hardly be broken or spoilt. It was the perfect phone for Nigerians, and everyone had or craved one. You would hardly find a better phone than the Nokia 3310. Even now, the latest edition has been manufactured with many consumers trooping to buy the device. Will there ever be a stronger phone than Nokia 3310?

2.
Samsung D500 Samsung Electronics announced the release of this phone in 2004. It was among the first generation of phones that the company produced. It is very portable with a screen size of 94x46x23 mm and weighs about 99g. The South Korea based company produced the phone with a 96MB shared memory for photos, videos etc. and 4MB for java. The phone transfer data both through Infrared and Bluetooth. It is arguably one of the first sliding phones. However, it created a new niche for itself. The design was way better than others, and the display was top notch. This was the phone you would see with the affluent around 2005 and 2006.

3.
Nokia Xpress Music Nokia released the phone on February, 2009. The display size was 2.0 inches with resolution of 240 ×320 pixels. The memory is a micro SD with a capacity of up to 16GB despite its small size. Xpress Music was the highest-selling phone of its time. The phone took the market by storm, and was considered the ideal phone for every user.

4.
Tecno TV Phones Who remembers those phones everyone was crazy about back in those days. About 10 years ago, Tecno came to the scene with offerings of phones that could be connected as TV sets. You can literally watch as many channels as possible. They had antennas and filled the market with various sizes and specs. It is interesting how these phones don’t exist anymore. They opened the doors for Tecno to take on the Nigerian market.

5.
Apple iPhone (Ist Generation) On June 29, 2007, Steve Apple co-founder presented the first iPhone to the world. The phone is the first smartphone and opened the smartphone industry to the likes of Google, Samsung and more. “Apple reinvents the phone.” ”This is just the beginning” were the slogan of the iPhone.

Conclusion

The technology landscape has shifted massively from what it used to be. The above named phones brought to life the smart phones and devices we use today. Thanks to these phones, consumers now have lots of choices to pick from. We may have missed some phones; kindly let us know if there is any phone you think deserves a place in the list by commenting below.

Computers / How To Diagnose And Fix An Overheating Laptop by Ugoeze2016: 11:00pm On Feb 22, 2018

Overheating is a very common issue as regards laptops. As laptops get older, and as their components are subject to increasing hours of computing, the potential for overheating rises. An overheating laptop may result in:

Slow performance

Program and app crash

Data loss

Damage and failure of hardware parts including video cards, hard drives, motherboards, and more.

Despite the popularity of this problem, few people neither know how to diagnose nor solve it. Therefore, this article is geared towards giving you the essentials you need to properly diagnose and fix an overheating laptop.

The first signs you should look out for to ascertain if your laptop is truly overheating include:

Constant noise-making and excessive fan speeds

Computer’s inability to perform basic operations

Persistent error messages

Unexpected system shutdowns

Of course, high temperatures

If your laptop is showing these signs or other signs that were not mentioned, here are a few tips for fixing it.

1. The Fan Assembly

The fan is the logical component you should take a look at if your laptop is experiencing overheating. Is it making excess noise or blowing hot air? If so, the fan needs to be cleaned. The fan could have accumulated dust which in turn may lead to problems on the overall status of your laptop. Therefore, locate the fan where you will notice the dust accumulated in the vents. You don’t need to open up the laptop to do this. You can carefully use an old toothbrush to clean the surface where the fan is located, and use a tiny object such as a long sewing needle to clean the clogged dust from the fan.

2. Battery

Different laptops come with different types of batteries that have different lifespans. It is advisable to regularly use your laptop while unplugging the charger. Non-compliance with this means your battery runs the risk of low lifespan which may lead to excess heat generation. If your battery is becoming prone to losing charge very quickly, it could cause your laptop to overheat. Therefore, you should get a replacement even before the battery life completely depreciates. This is a proactive measure.

3. CPU Overload

Gamers are particularly guilty of this offense. Loading too many (heavy) games and apps at a time would inevitably lead to overheating because the CPU is running at optimum capacity. Fixing this is quite easy on the part of the laptop, but quite difficult for the user. To fix this, you have to…

4. Alternate between Games

Games are fun and could be addictive. Games are also bigger in size and requirements than others. Likewise, the size of a game determines how much is required of the CPU. Playing heavy games for long periods could lead to overheating. To avoid this, you should alternate between heavy games and smaller games. If you notice you have been playing a certain game for a long period of time, switching to a relatively smaller game or switching task entirely will lower the temperature of your laptop.

5. Place the Laptop on a Hard and Flat Surface

Primarily, laptops accommodate dust and blow air through the rear. Placing a laptop on surfaces such as your lap, beds, or pillows will obstruct the laptop’s airflow. This leads to high temperature. This can be avoided by placing your laptop on a flat and hard surface such as a dining table, an office desk, or even a drawing table.

Conclusion

Overheating is a very common issue as far as laptops are concerned. High-end gamers and video editors are bound to experience this more often than users who only use their laptops for word processing and movies. Irrespective of the kind of user you are, overheating isn’t something you have to dread. By taking the simple steps above, you will fix your laptop’s overheating problems with ease.
