During my pre-enrollment on Universitaly, i choose Abuja embassy for where I’d like to apply for my visa (my reason is because Vfs handles visa and I know my way around Abuja and have friends I can sleep over in their house). I received a mail few days after submission saying my pre-enrollment has been forwarded to Abuja Embassy and It seems my DOV will be gotten there. For legalization, my state falls under Lagos Embassy. I hope this isn’t a problem? |
oppsonn:Dear Sir/Madam, The fees vary from document to document and the use for which it is being requested. They vary from N4000 to N 25,000 per document. The actual price can only be given on presentation of your documents. Regards, Operator 01 Consular Office Lagos If you read this thread backwards from 2019, someone said legalization of academic documents are free but he paid 11,600 for NPC attestation. I still don’t know if it will be free this year for academic documents and 11,600 for NPC attestation. Like they said, it’s dependent on document and it’s use, they didn’t really specify price for each document. |
Their response to my appointment mail Dear Sir/Madam, Due to present situation relating to the Pandemic (COVID-19), all appointments are suspended. This office is presently unable to give a response as the time table for the 2020/21 academic session is yet to be released by MUIR (the authorized office). |
Ufemia26:I sent them a mail last week Tuesday for enquiry of legalization fee and another mail today being Monday 20th for appointment. This morning, they responded to the one of last week and I haven’t gotten a response for the appointment. |
timaya4all:If you have your IELTS or TOEFL result, you can upload it. If not, just submit. All submissions are still redirected from universitaly to your school. If your school needs it, they may still ask you to provide it. I think it depends if its part of your schools requirement. |
Pls can anyone who has gone through legalization and pre-enrollment process this year answer my question. Pls can you advise me on the following? 1. Did you do legalization at the embassy before proceeding to online pre-enrollment? 2. Can i book appointment for legalization at the embassy while waiting for legalization at MOFA and translated documents to be ready? 3. When you were filling your pre-enrollment form, on universitaly what option of “Qualifications and Language Certificates”, there are lots of options and I didn’t know which option to choose. 4. Is it wise to submit online pre-enrollment without first doing legalization? 5. Is Form A still needed for pre-enrollment since its done online? And how can i get it |

Pls who else is filling pre-enrollment online via universitaly? I've been on the second page now for over an hr, when i try to click for the next page, it keeps saying authentication problem. who else is going throuh same thing |
I emailed Lagos and Abuja embassy for enquires about translation. Their response: Dear Sir/Madam, Kindly note that you can go to any English-Italian translator for the translation provided that the documents are accurately translated. You may however contact any of the under listed translators: They gave me 3 translators numbers for Lagos and Abuja embassy gave me another translators contact. If you need any of the contacts, you can email me. |
If you've done attestation of birth by NPC, how much were you charged? I went to NPC office in Aba today and the woman said it's 11,000. Once they hear anything that has to do with abroad, the price escalates, even though I told her it wasn't for visa/travel. |
I already have a BA degree but I'm going for another Bachelor's degree programme. 1. Is it necessary to translate and legalize my BA certificate and transcripts. 2. Since NECO is not required according to their website, shey theres no need to translate and legalize it at the consulate? |
1. Pls for people that has done these processes, is NPC attestation and affidavit of age declaration really needed for student visa? On the website, this was mentioned for Italian citizenship and just brith certificate mentioned for studies/education. See the link https://conslagos.esteri.it/consolato_lagos/resource/doc/2018/04/legalizationofdocuments2018.pdf I need more clarity pls. 2. Also, can i do legalization and pre-enrollment at same time? 3. How do i book appointment for legalization at the embassy? |
Obinnau:Thank you so much. I appreciate |
Obinnau:Thank you. My problem now is that i no longer have extra copies of my legalized/authenticated transcripts. I submitted it to different schools in another country who requested for it as part of their requirements. I have to go back to Abuja and redo another copy and would like to do the translation in Abuja as well, instead of going on a round trip to Lagos➡️Abuja➡️and back to Lagos. Do you have Mr Oluga contact? Im also a bit confused about the birth certificate thing. I was born before 1992, does it mean i have to do the affidavit and NPC attestation, and get another birth certificate from NPC. Does the birth certificate/affidavit/ NPC attestation need to be translated and also authenticated at MOFA? |
Do you also advise i translate documents and legalize them first, before booking visa appointment. Or should i go ahead and book visa appointment to secure a slot first. |
1. Pls I’m new here and a little bit confused about the visa procedure. 2. How do i book appointment to translate documents at either Abuja or Lagos? 3. How do i book appointment for legalization at Italian embassy? Their vsf website isnt really clear on the process and documents. I’ve also read a very long chain of thread but this isn’t clear to me. Pls kindly help. |
Knaruto:Ok. I don't have any idea on that. |
Ujules:8th Floor, Ministry of Education. Legalisation is only done Mondays to Thursdays from 9am, it's better to come early in case theres crowd. You may be asked to wait to pick up same day or asked to come the next day to pick up, after picking up at Ministry of Education, go to Ministry of Foreign Affairs for same process. Ministry of Foreign Affairs process is straightforward and easier than Ministry of Education. |
oppsonn:I went there Dec 2019 to legalize my student transcript and it was done. Schools dont give original transcript to students/individuals, they can only send to the school you're applying to. |
Knaruto:What documents are you legalizing? If its academic documents like WAEC, NECO, BSC and Transcript, it can only be done at Ministry of Education Hq in Abuja and when they are through, you take it to Ministry of Foreign Affairs (its opp MOE) for second authentication/legalisation. Ministry of Education charges 300 per set u think. Per set means 1 copy of each documents, ie they normally give extra 2 copies aside your originals making it 900 for the 3 sets. Transcript is per page. Ministry of Foreign Affairs charges 300 per page for each document. Also have money at hand for WAEC and NECO scratch cards cos your statement of result will be printed first before Ministry of Education legalized your document. It should take you about 2 to 3 days to finish up. If crowd isn't much at Minis6of Education, then you can finish the process in 2 days. You have to come in person, you cant give it to someone to assist you cos they won't allow the person. |
Ejay99:I don't know if its advisable. Consider the fact that you may likely pay tuition for both schools, before visa application, and if both countries grant visa, how will you request refund from the other school which may be the second option? The condition is mostly when visa is denied then you can get refund. Also, your passport can't be submitted at two different embassies or visa application centre at same time. It can only be submitted to the second option when the other country has denied visa. |
25o18:Yes. I noticed that most European schools request for tuition first, unlike USA. But, They refund only if you weren't issued a visa and you have to show them a visa refusal document and fill some forms and all. Had same experience when I applied to a school in Hungary and didn't get visa. It was quite annoying cos part of he visa document includes flight payment receipt and acceptance letter which states you've paid tuition in full. I had to request for a refund with took over one month before the money was credited to my euro account, also my flight money was partly refunded acc to the airline refund policy after I cancelled which took about a month too. |
barskaya:Also, how you heard or found about their school, why you applied to the school and maybe question on the country too. |
barskaya:I already answered that for the Hungary school you asked about. Their application process is exactly same. Stop worrying about interview. It's easy. Questions are mainly about your reason for applying for the course, future career plans, some questions on your previous course if you've gotten a degree before. If it's not related to the degree you studied before they'll ask you questions on why a different career path etc. Just prepare yourself in those areas and let your answers correspond well without suspicion. Also read your motivation letter well. You may be thrown off balance from there. I wish you luck! |
barskaya:Hi, I'm actually a girl I applied to University of Pecs, Hungary. The application process for most European schools are same and it was easy but just prepare for a Skype interview because its always compulsory. Whatever school you want to apply to, go to their website, find your desired course and click the "Apply Now" button. It will take you to the application site where you'll put your email and it will generate an application code for you to sign it. Fill up forms and upload all documents specified on the checklist and submit and pay application fee when you receive details of it. You'd be notified of a skype interview with date and maybe topic to study on. Afterwards they'd tell you to proceed with tuition fee if you were granted admission and prepare for visa application as well. |
Echinedu1:School will always and mostly give admission no matter what because the need the money. Embassy looks at a lot of factors including age. If one is really lucky, then they will grant the person regardless of age. I was denied Hungarian visa last yr because I applied for BSC at 30. The consular officer told me my age was the reason for denial. |
AndrewLT:It’s dependent on the school you’re applying to. If they requested for notarized copies or have the option of notarized copy, then upload notarized copy. Unless you want to stress yourself of going to school and spending additional money for your school to waybill your transcript. |
Squisite:Sorry about this. What was their reason for denying you Visa. Write to the school and tell them you need a refund of school fees paid. You’ll be asked to show your visa denial document and other documentations will be needed as well. |
ebenezer880:Check their website https://www.skvc.lt/default/en/60/apply/documentation_requirements |
larrybenny:Just seeing this. Someone already answered your question. They may also ask you about the previous studies you’ve done ie if you already have a Bachelors degree and how it co relates to the course you applied to. They may also ask you questions from your motivation letter. Also, future career plans after studying the course. |
evergreen9:1. This your question is broad. If someone asks you if schools in Nigeria are tuition free, what would be your response? (No offense intended, I just want you to understand better). Check for schools in Lithuania, google is your friend or the names of schools people have mentioned. Tuition is dependent on course. (In Nigeria for eg, Medicine and Law Tuition is more expensive than other courses.) Yes, they ask for proof of funds, or scholarship is any is granted. Check this link for more info ( Click on the checklist pdf link on the page to see documents needed for visa application). https://www.vfsglobal.com/lithuania/Nigeria/student.html |
Evankc:Check on the website or portal your applying with. If there’s space for additional application then yes. |
