FOR STUDENTS IN QUEENSLAND

All tertiary/post-secondary students in Queensland are required to have a Tertiary Transport Concession Card (TTCC) as proof of eligibility to purchase and travel on a concession go card or concession paper ticket.

Application forms can be downloaded below. You should allow up to 15 business days (or three weeks) for your application to be processed.

A concession entitles the passenger to 50% off fares on approved public transport throughout Queensland.

You must always have your TTCC and student identification card with you when you travel on a concession fare. The TTCC does not replace your go card or paper ticket.

The TTCC is valid for up to 12 months (or the length of the student's course, if less than 12 months).

Grace period to purchase and travel on tertiary concession fares

From 2 February 2015 up to and including 31 March 2015, tertiary students can purchase and travel on a concession go card or concession paper ticket using their valid student ID card as proof of concession entitlement.

Concession go cards purchased during this period will be set with an expiry date of 31 March 2015. Once you receive your TTCC card you will need to update the go card expiry date to the expiry date of your TTCC.

From 1 April 2015, all tertiary students will be required to carry their valid TTCC and student ID when purchasing and travelling on a tertiary concession fare.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a Tertiary Transport Concession Card you must meet all of the following criteria:

reside in Queensland
be enrolled in and attending a course:
at a university, TAFE or other registered training organisation in Queensland (unless otherwise approved by the Department of Transport and Main Roads) that is registered with the department; and
that is approved by Centrelink for Austudy, Abstudy or Youth Allowance purposes, or studying at a post-graduate level
be a full time student enrolled on an internal basis. To be considered full-time:
a university student must be enrolled full-time, as deemed by their university; or
students attending an institution other than a university must be enrolled in a course of study requiring attendance at classes (or unpaid practical requirements) for at least 12 hours per week for a minimum course duration of 12 weeks.
The following customers are not eligible for a TTCC:

interstate residents
part-time students
students undertaking all subjects externally, online or via correspondence
students enrolled in a course that is not 'approved' by Centrelink for Austudy, Abstudy or Youth Allowance purposes.
Apply for a Tertiary Transport Concession Card

It's simple. All you need to do is:

Download the Tertiary Transport Concession Card application form.
Complete and sign Part A of the TTCC application form; and
Have Part B completed and authorised by your educational institution (administration and/or student services).
Email (PDF file not exceeding 8MB) or post the completed, authorised TTCC application form to:

tertiary@translink.com.au or

Tertiary Transport Concession Card
PO Box 1139
Eagle Farm QLD 4009
Note: Some educational institutions may submit the completed application on your behalf.

You should allow up to 15 business days (three weeks) for your application to be processed.

If you are eligible, your TTCC will be posted to you.

If you are deemed ineligible, you will also be advised by mail.

Please call 1800 336 678 or email tertiary@translink.com.au if more than 15 business days has passed since the department received your application and you have not received your card or advice.

Renew an expiring or expired Tertiary Transport Concession Card

If your TTCC is due to expire (check the expiry date printed on the front of your TTCC) and you still meet the eligibility criteria, you should apply to renew your TTCC before it expires.

The renewal process is the same as outlined in Apply for a Tertiary Transport Card.

Replace a lost, stolen or damaged Tertiary Transport Concession Card

If your TTCC has been lost, stolen or damaged, you must apply for a replacement card.

The renewal process is the same as outlined in Apply for a Tertiary Transport Card.

Replace a defective or faulty Tertiary Transport Concession Card

If your TTCC is defective or faulty phone the department's contracted provider on 1800 336 678 or email tertiary@translink.com.au.

Information for educational institutions

To authorise TTCC applications for students, educational institutions must be registered with the Department of Transport and Main Roads.

To register, complete the educational institution registration form and forward to the address on the form.

The Queensland Government reserves the right to withdraw an institution's registration if it is found that the institution is not complying with the department's policy, including eligibility requirements as stated on the application form.

For information on registering contact our call centre on 13 12 30.

More information

Contact our call centre on 13 12 30 or ask questions via our online form.

TravelRe: General Australian Visa Enquiries by ukchy: 3:38pm On Feb 04, 2015
As for Naija airport, please don't change your money with all those Mallams with calculator in the airport oo

They operate with Jass (The more you look thing.....)Am a witness and my bro in-law too

Also i think the rate with the BDC's @ the Airport is always high,i don't know of outside Naija shaa.

bossladyMo:
Someone here mentioned changing money at the airport is a bad idea...don't remember who.

Why is it a bad idea?

Other inputs are welcome.

equlibrium:
what rate did they sell to you at?
TravelRe: General Australian Visa Enquiries by ukchy: 3:14pm On Jan 30, 2015
Passport
Visa print out
Ticket. They will verify the ticket from their head office
Naira equivalent of d dollar
The account must be functional for 6months.(Thats what the lady said)
bossladyMo:
Oh really...

What are the requirements? Cos I don't have an account with them
TravelRe: General Australian Visa Enquiries by ukchy: 1:45pm On Jan 30, 2015
I just collected my PTA through Fidelity bank now.I didn't boarder going to Diamond again
bossladyMo:
Yea...I guess.

How primitive some Nigerian banks can be...no label, no dollars...when Vevo is right there. Besides, who says someone with a return ticket and visa stamp cant be lying. Tickets can be voided within 24hrs of issuance...it doesn't take a genius to work his or her way around it...mscheww!
TravelRe: General Australian Visa Enquiries by ukchy: 11:15am On Jan 30, 2015
Will check dat .Just that their card is always given me what I want. I have first bank card though.
equlibrium:
hello??!!!!!
Did you check intl rates on the day you paid fees?
I recently usrd GTB and zenith to make payments same day, GTB charged me 158, Zenith 151, intl rates on the day, 148.50, unfortunately for mysef, I used GTB to pay 11k aud, multiply that by the 7naira extra GTB skinned me for.
Bros, GTB is a long thing men
TravelRe: General Australian Visa Enquiries by ukchy: 8:24am On Jan 30, 2015
GTB rate is good o.I use them to pay school fees and their commission is reasonable and is always reliable
equlibrium:
Rumored? Rumored!!! angry
That darn bank will cut your head with machete!
Bossladymo, have your internet banking active on all your accounts so you can transfer to any bank's card with ease but know this, a Visa card will incur less charges than a master card and Diamond/Zenith charges are more reasonable than GTB.
So when you add Diamond's good rates and the fact they favour Visa cards vrs GTB rates and the fact the favour Master cards, the disparity in rates become more pronounced.
TravelRe: General Australian Visa Enquiries by ukchy: 8:22am On Jan 30, 2015
If your bank can,is better you buy from them cos d rate is cheaper. It has nothing to do with your ticket .Just d money you will hold for pocket when travelling..As for Diamond bank,I don't use them to do anything online payment or to buy anything online cos their visa card is always given error report.
GTB Master card is one touch, fast and does everything and d rate is good.PLEASE instead of VISA card,go get MASTER card cos it does wonder outside d country and is reliable
rolabettin:
@Bossladymo, pls do I need PTA, as my ticket is an e-ticket? And hope I will be able to withdraw with diamond Visa card in Australia? Cos am kinda scared so as not to be stucked or stranded over there.
TravelRe: General Australian Visa Enquiries by ukchy: 3:46pm On Jan 29, 2015
Thanks soo much.

i will do that

tonybunor:
You can bring food stuffs like the normal garri, crayfish and dry ugu or bitter leaf... Even egusi but you have to grind whatever you need in Naija and seal it in a transparent bag and label it...but you won't be allowed to carry red oil or any liquid material
TravelRe: General Australian Visa Enquiries by ukchy: 3:45pm On Jan 29, 2015
Diamond should not try me oo or i will close all my account with them
i plan going there tomorrow shaa.
Why not try another branch or send mail to their headoffice.

This Bank know how to vex somebody.

bossladyMo:
Has anybody bought PTA here?

Diamond says they can't sell to me as I don't have a visa label...even though I informed them Aus doesn't make it compulsory to have one.

prechear:
