Please I need advice, my sister is about to apply for Finnish Student Visa next month. She studied Chemical Engineering in Nigeria 8 years ago, but recently got Bsc Nursing In Finland. She has paid 8,000 euro towards her first year tuition fee and has 6,500,000 (13,500 euro) in her account. I want to know if she still needs to show her sponsors statement of account.

JustMellow:
Just some clarity in regards to the trending topic..

There are numerous international students in Canada working without the resumption of their classes or course work to meet up. This might be possible but also have consequences, in the sense that the dream of a PGWP and then a PR might be in jeopardy if working without an active studies when the school is not on unschedule break.

Its a fact that sometimes, checking if international students have defaulted or breaking immigration law of their study permit "might" pose difficult by IRCC especially if the employer of the int'l students pays salary by cash and not by an accountable means that reflects on government database, also if the int'l students works in short hours of duration. Aslo, on-campus work might also pose another difficulty for IRCC to keep track of int'l students that works more than the stipulated work hours of 20hrs per week or working without class resumption (if possible or maybe under some unprecedented situation).

However, working off-campus without class resumption comes with great risk which many int'l students are taken due to detoriorating situation in the course of studying to meet up. The risk is that some employers might not pay in cash, which means they follow a recognized mode of payment by the government, meaning the government can easily keep track of whether int'l students are violating their SP by working more hours or as the case may be.

The implication of working without the class or school resumption is like hanging the success of applying for a PGWP and PR on a thin worn out thread. Though, some int'l students have also be lucky with getting through this illegal act but it doesn't mean its appropriate.

The bottomline is: its not advisable to violate the laws guiding the SP, as working without class or school resumption is highly not advisable. It might seem smart and rewarding, but if caught, the implication will be costly and filled with many regrets.

Goodluck to all TRV hopefuls.

pls this living expenses of 10,000 is it in CAD or USD.

mcobex:
1. They should write separate letter of support stating how much they will be committing towards your studies.
2. Since they are both retired, they should show how they earn a living (be it pension or other investments they have)... This is very important because they need show that they are capable of sponsoring you beyond your first year(that is if your program is more than a year).
3. Lump sum won't be an issue as long as you and them explain the transaction in your LOE and letter of supports respectively. As for who to send it to, they should send the funds to your personal account (since you are above 18 years) or better still pay your tuition and transfer your living expenses only into your bank account. But as for the tuition fee, contact your intended school to know their refund policy just in case(before making any tuition payment).
4. Their SOA of account is important, because the vo needs to know if they have enough to take care of you and themselves as well. Also like I said above, they need to show their source of income so as to prove they can continue sponsoring you beyond the first year .
5. You don't have to wait till after NYSC, apply while still serving but make sure you let them know you are still serving and will leave after service. Include your NYSC ID card, posting letter (if you still have it), a letter of introduction from your PPA(if possible).

thanks.
SOPWriter:
The theme of a SOP is geared towards the first time visa applicants. In this case, the applicant will more likely talk about how the advance studies is going to complement past academics and how it will brighten up the future career scope. In addition, various other topics will be addressed such as capability to finance your studies and living cost, why particular program, why Canada, why particular institution, etc.

The theme of a LOE is geared more towards the re-applicants (whose visa application was earlier rejected). In this case, the applicant will start first-half of the letter by explaining what went wrong in previous applications and on what ground it was rejected. It should also include the way you have been able to address the previous problem in your preceding application.

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by ulasiking: 3:53pm On Jul 22, 2019
pls i have to problems to sort out
1. need to oder for my GCMS notes
2. how do i draw this family tree if this Aunt is a bit distance.. you know our African setting.\
95seun:
Wow, thanks for making it soooo detailed.

Order for GCMS notes, it should come in a month but I’ve also experienced them coming much later. In the meantime, review your SOP and identify strengths and weaknesses. Improve the weaknesses. Unless you enjoy working under pressure and have assurances for SOP review late August, start now.

Regarding Financials you have pretty much covered everything. Ensure you show proof of all relationship to your Aunty (draw a family tree, attach passport pages of connecting family members etc, do anything that would make a stranger easily connect the two of you), try to transfer the money for at least a year to your Aunts account (it’s a stronger proof of sponsorship). If you’re able to transfer the money to your Aunts personal account, the sponsorship letter should come from her, also attach her SOA, you can also attach sponsorship letter from the company if she has a stake in it. Be able to explain the source of the money in your sis account (6 million increase in ~2 months would raise eyebrows, unless this instance is not an anomaly) , if possible don’t add the compensation with the job (it raises more questions than answers). Finally, if possible provide examples of other instances of your Aunty helping your sister or any other member of your nuclear family. If you do this correctly, you would not need the co sponsors. Your brothers might be useful as hometies though.

This, and in addition to addressing the concerns raised in your GCMS note and you should be fine.

After careful review of your temporary resident visa application and supporting documentation, I have determined that your application does not meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR).
I am refusing your application on the following grounds:
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.
• Pursuant to paragraph 220(a) of the IRPA, I am not satisfied that you have sufficient and available financial resources, without working in Canada, to pay the tuition fees for the course or program of studies that you intend to pursue.
• Pursuant to paragraph 220(b) of the IRPA, I am not satisfied that you have sufficient and available financial resources, without working in Canada, to maintain yourself and any family members who are accompanying you during your proposed period of study.
• Pursuant to paragraph 220(c) of the IRPA, I am not satisfied that you have sufficient and available financial resources, without working in Canada, to pay the cost of transporting yourself and any family members who are accompanying you to and from Canada.

You are welcome to reapply if you feel that you can respond to these concerns and can demonstrate that your situation meets the requirements. All new applications must be accompanied by a new processing fee.Sincerely,
