No one is saying not to patronize her, in fact, I've asked her for products personally when my customers ask for something below the grade and budget of what I sell...

People are talking about leaving out details supposed to be provided to a buyer, using the word original for a fake/clone/imitation.

Whether or not the customer knows the cost of original, a buyer isn't supposed to use the word original to advertise, even if, he/she should state out clearly they're not original from Nike stores, and give a detailed info, the country of manufacture, if the customer asks... She may lose that sales, but it will prevent bad reputation and issues like this.
Bad review spreads faster and blocks tens of sales compared to good review.

Airline crew will still state out safety procedures, whether or not the customers knew already or not, because it's their duty.

Let's not turn this insincere assessment of a situation or case into a norm because the accused is our person or close to us.

TheLoanGuy:
Anything Una like make Una talk about Anuoreangel.
We'll still patronise her, I'm sure he didn't inform y'all on this thread he still went to buy a Fake Original Nike for 30k, claiming he got a genuine Nike. I laugh.

When some buyers even hear the price of original with munch back up confirming the cost about half a million, they will cave and buy the imitation of 30-50k if their budget is up to it.

It is the duty of a seller to educate the buyer and state things clearly, even when the supposed buyer may already know, to avoid such stories.

Na so I no pay a house cleaner her balance because she didn't do a thorough cleaning and was saying jack like I didn't say it was thorough cleaning, but I said cleaning as if someone wants to pack in, if there are different packages, you were supposed to state them to me.

Sanchez01:

Look at it this way;

1. He prolly doesn't know the cost of an original NIKE sneakers because I doubt he would be comfortable buying an original for 12k.
2. He ASKED the seller from the outset that he wanted an ORIGINAL and he was assured he'll get one.
3. The seller lied knowing the NIKE is a clone but still claimed they were original anyways. THAT'S DECEPTION.
4. That we all love quality does not mean we all know brands and prices.
5. That you ordered from her and found it to be good does not mean it isn't a clone.

The point is, the buyer asked he wanted an original. "Oh, sorry. You can't get a decent, original NIKE sneakers for a starting price of $150. These are clones and they are not bad either. As a matter of fact, it is difficult to tell them apart from the original on the feet." If I was a seller of such product, that would be my response to anyone who comes to me asking if my clones are original.

Either of two things would play out in the end; "oh, okay. Thanks for your honesty. I wanted original and thought yours were" OR "I sincerely appreciate your honesty. Let me order one for a start and see the quality. If I am convinced, I'll other another for my wife." It would have been very easy and smooth but she lied for what purpose?

Just because you patronised her and think the quality is decent does not absolve her of deception here. Nothing stops an aggrieved buyer of this nature from getting a full refund instead of bragging that money isn't your problem when you probably have spent 2k plus off the money and given the original seller his or her own actual cost.

I was once swindled in this manner at a sharp Igbo man shop who sold me a cloned LG home theatre as original for the price of an original. The dude thought he could run me street and said I am not subject to a refund as stated on his receipt. It wasn't until soldiers got to his shop to pick him that he started referring to me as his best friend.

Some buyers are just ignorant or unaware of market trends. That does not make them foolish or dumb. I believe the fellow has learnt from this episode. For the clowns pitching their tent with the deceptive seller and blaming the buyer for being greedy, ask yourself if this issue would have come up if the seller outrightly stated that the products were clones.

They don't even have to be original cartons.
Carton branding no dey take Chinko time at all.
The cartons and the shoes will all be imitated from China direct.

if you a conversant with Nike products, main looking at the picture you will know this is fake with original nike carton. they are sold for 2k or 3k

There are even different grades of Chinese clone shoes.
These I attached are higher quality that can pass for original, real pictures... I never ever lie to a customer they're original, I'll tell them it's high quality imitation from China, if they appreciate the truth, fine, if they don't, they will go and meet another seller that will most likely sell same quality imitation to them, for the price of original wink

I try to say this to some sellers around me, customer trust should be more important than sales, the first will bring you much more higher sales eventually.

uniquetechng:
Sorry chief, truth is that the price she quoted for the shoes was enough to tell you that the shoes were actually Chinese cloned, because the cheapest you can get presently for genuine original Nike shoes is 60k upward with the current exchange rate.

Hope you find a way to resolve things amicably with her, good luck!

afangsoup:
Hello Everybody,
I don't usually do this but I've been pushed to do so.
Some days ago, I needed to add some shoes to my collection and that of my wife's. I did a little inquiring from some Nairalanders, and they mentioned Anuoreangel being decent and honest enough to get a good deal. I decided to read thru her profile and discovered of a truth she has been a long time member.
I chatted and exchanged calls with her regarding some sneakers of choice and clearly stated that I needed Genuine Original Nike Sneakers for my wife and I.
She asserted that her products are genuine. I asked for her payment option if she does payment on delivery outside her base (Lagos) because I reside in Abuja. She said I should pay for the item and waybill. I felt its no problem and also informed her to send it to my address. She agreed and I ran a transaction to a First bank account bearing Okosun Christiana which I believed belongs to her. I did a sum of ₦12,500.00 (₦10,500 for shoes ₦2,000 for courier) and she said I should expect it in Abuja on 28th July latest.
I relaxed and even made inquiries about more footwares for my wife and I so that I may purchase when this first purchase gets delivered.
Unfortunately, I did not receive any calls or messages from her courier service providers till Friday 30th July at 10:58pm that my item is at Peace Mass Transit.
Next day, at 7:30am, I called the store manager of the courier and he said its not in Kubwa but in Utako which is approximately 28km away from my house. I ordered an ehailing cab and was billed ₦2,000.
I got there and was made to pay ₦500 for service charge. I paid and was given the parcel which I opened to discover it was packed in a red box which was a genuine Nike shoebox.
Opening the box, I was met with the most nastiest quality of shoes ever imagine. They were fake clone Chinese shoes cheaply made.
I felt disappointed and rang her (anuoreangel) to express my utter displeasure in such delivery.
I was shocked when she retorted rather rudely back that other people have bought same from her and they didn't complain, why am I complaining?
I told her see, I'm disappointed in your product quality, the fact that I really asked you if it was a genuine quality yet, you lied to me and I felt cheated, I am returning this item immediately back to you.
Next thing I heard from her was she's not poor, money isn't her problem. I made it clear that I am not paying for any return courier. When she gets to pick it she pays for it but she should refund my money for shoes only ₦10,500.
Yesterday, being 3rd August, she informed me that the item had been collected by her and she is only interested in refunding ₦8,500 because she has to pay for the refund and she doesn't accept any refund (a policy I wasn't informed of by the way till I wanted to return her item).

I've been patient enough and showed enough restraints while this lady has been acting all up.

Yes, that money is a small amount,
Yes, I could easily let her have that money, but No I won't because I worked for it legitimately, and also because of her rude manners, I need that money. It can go along way to buying data or call credit for me to use.

I wish the public understand that this moniker (anuoreangel) is one very cunning and deceptive and insincere person and anyone dealing with such person stands a chance of being shortchanged.

If I haven't gotten my full refund, I may be left without option than to take a more drastic legal approach. Anyone who's sympathetic to her actions may decide to tell me it's a small amount or it's normal, but hey, it's not normal, and no, I do not agree it's a small amount based on the fact that such has become a norm in Nigeria and hence the level of corruption and non accountability in governance and service delivery.

Ishilove, pafesula, naijacutee, puskin, dominique, FOD, sisisioge etc.

To the seller , which I also am, out of here
It is very deceptive to include *Original* in the description of an item that's not Original, if it's not from the actual manufacturer, then it should never be tagged as Original, and make una dey use actual pictures of your item quality, rather than the pictures of higher quality of imitation you usually use.

To the buyer
There is no way you would see Original Nike for that amount, even the ones I sell for 20-35k are not store original.
Perhaps you had no idea of the cost of the original was why you were expecting actual Nike Store quality.

I've been on and off o, quite a lot at hand to handle.

odimbannamdi:

This madam, been a while we saw you around here... grin...hope you didn't abandon us because of the highballers here... grin...hope you are good though.

Back to the bone of contention. I am trying to have a balanced argument from the perspective of both the buyer and seller, and based on the presented facts (the whatsapp chats screebshots)

And one clear fact here is that, there were extensive discussions prior to the day of the transaction. The date of the transaction and exact location were agreed before the actual day of transaction. There was no sense of urgency in the communication, as is typical of scammers looking defraud someone.

I have driven along that axis severally and I recently took a cab from there. There are lots of filling stations, shopping malls (SLOT is there too) and banks one can easily drive into and conduct business without being arrested by traffic officials.

Both parties are wrong here: The seller made the first mistake by taking a different route, even after prior agreement as regards the location. The buyer is wrong, NOT because he refused to make the sacrifice of going the extra mile of locating the seller on top of the bridge (that was solely his prerogative and we do not know what his constraints were at the time), but because he disrespected the seller and disregarded his efforts. He should have courteously ended the transaction, stating what his constraints were. (A similar incident happened between Unique.wise and a nairalander who wanted to buy an oven from her)

So, let us stop trying to cast all of the blames on the buyer just because the seller had made prior posts that may have made him vulnerable. It is out of scope in this situation.

Apart from the circumstances around the car or no car involved.

Anyone staying around berger/ojodu knows well not to park anyhow or anywhere, even while you're in your car, you can be arrested at the wrong stop. Ordinary stoping to drop someone with a private car at the commercial vehicle park, I was fined.

The supposed buyer was coming on bike/foot, it was his neighborhood, all he had to do was ask where exactly he(seller) is, then go and meet him.
Insisting that he climbs the pedestrian bridge is either he is wicked and doesn't care if seller's car gets towed or he has an ulterior motive like a couple of people said.
Filling stations are the safest places to park at Berger.

odimbannamdi:

You are the second person to say this. So, maybe I am missing something. Please, how are you guys able to arrive at this conclusion? Enlighten me, please. I could learn a thing or two

This is very bad and encouragement of evil practices. How would you feel as the owner of a pure water factory, you bought truck for conveyance of your products to market and handed the truck to someone to be delivering your products only for him to divert the truck to his own selfish aim and when the truck breaks down, he's gonna call you that it needs to be repaired. Then a little investigation is carried out only to find out that he goes to carry other people goods goods for his personal gains with your truck thus damaging it and putting your business at risk and you in hardship?

Would you feel good? NO YOU WOULDN'T!
why then are you encouraging sharp practices?
It goes to prove you have a wicked heart, you cut corners and engages in sharp practices and aid and abet corruption in that position or office you are occupying. This is really shameful.

I will post this here again, ye who has eyes, let them read.

GUIDES TO AVOID BEEN SCAMMED

AS A BUYER
* Do a check on the account or the person selling, a search of the moniker or contact number should bring out any related posts about them.
* Don't be in a rush to pay for an instate item to someone you did not know, no matter how sweet the price is.
* A seller that has bad or nasty attitude/manners during enquiries should be a red flag to you.
* Don't send money ahead for items to be waybilled, to be on a safer side, look for someone you know in the seller's town to meet and transact then send to you.
* If not on clearance thread and the price is too good to be true, do your survey about the item cost, ask the seller questions, they should satisfy reasonable curiousity about what they are selling, otherwise, give it up.
* Don't be moved by the term "other people are on it", and be convinced to pay if you are not sure of the seller.
* Beware of payment before delivery sellers, if they dont want to risk been scammed, they should provide a pick up or meeting location.
Opt for Escrow services as a safer resort.

AS A SELLER
* If you cannot run payment on delivery, at least give a payment on pick up option at your location or within.
* If it is to be waybilled, ask them to get someone themselve that can come and get the item and waybill to them if you don't want to do that. (I have sent goods to friends out of lagos many times, to meet up with the buyer, have my payment transfered and release item to the seller, it's a risk of wasting waybil fund, but i can work around that, but I will never force someone skeptical, after giving my registeration number, my personal and business online accounts of years, to make payment before waybil, I understand the fear of being duped)
* Don't respond to sellers as if you are dashing them the item for sale, even if you are dashing them, it takes nothing to be nice.
* To further assure buyer you are legit (this method has never failed in convincing a buyer I am legit)
- tell them they could call you on video call to confirm your identity.
- provide a social media account if old and active that has your face all over it.
- Assure them you would send your ID(cover your id number) with same name as account number they are to pay to. ( this confirms they are paying to your account that can be traced to you and not a PAGA account that you will withdraw and be untraceable after scamming them)
* If a buyer has questions, try and respond to them, if you are finding it uncomfortable, simply say it has been sold, bad attitude as a seller is not ideal.
* Do not hold your items for promises if you do not want to, this will eradicate having to ask someone to pay as many people are on it, who pays first or comes to inspect and pay gets the item.

There's really nothing to tackle at this point as that scam transaction has already been completed.
Sorry about your money.

Some people try to warn others at traces of a scam seller/buyer here, and even that aside, it's 2020, a woke period we are in, news of scamming has been flying all around too much for anyone not to triple check before sending money to a strange person over the internet.

Leave your own pure mind aside, you can't automatically expect people to be as pure as you are, I don't even let dispatch people take cash for me on delivery, everybody eyes red now, even my 2k is valuable to me.

If you have a banker friend that can help you get his details, it might help, that is IF HE DIDN'T USE A PAGA ACCOUNT.
