I just watched a video about the Anambra state health insurance scheme and I want to know if anyone here has registered for it. I watched the video on Channels TV and was very impressed by what I saw. Registered members of the insurance scheme were paying 10% of their actual hospital bills at the state hospitals. They also said about 212 thousand residents of Anambra have registered so far and get to pay just 10% of their bills when they get admitted in state hospitals. A woman who just gave birth was interviewed and she confirmed that she paid only 10% of her bill. From the look of things, once I get comfortable with my remote job, I will consider relocating to this Anambra state. At least from my research, rent in Onitsha is cheaper than rent in Lagos. Imagine getting to enjoy such health benefits. |

B2mario: Chai, I pity for you because it is quite obvious that you are having mental and psychological problem. It is a known fact that Orlu people are the richest Igbo and the first to discover trading in west Africa. They are the pure Isu and Orsu. They are divided unequally into Imo and Anambra. They are the ones that occupied Orlu zone and some parts of Okigwe and Mbano in Imo state, Isuochi and Isukwuato in Abia state, Ihiala, Nnewi, Aguatta and Orumba in Anambra state and Igbouzo and Ogwashi ukwu in Delta.
You don't want Orlu state because you know that some of them or even all in Anambra state will be carved into the new state thereby making Anambra state to because empty. What has Anambra state offered to these people carved into it? Rather it is these people that are investing heavily to this ungrateful and unprogressive state.
You know that the creation of Orlu state will lead to fall of Onitsha and that is what majority of you want to trickishly prevent by working against Orlu state. Those Orlu indigenes who are doing extremely well in Onitsha will relocate their businesses and pharmaceutical industries to Orlu town.
Anambra state is very stagnant and the least progressive state in the whole of southeastern states. Stop being foolish and ginger your government to work and develop the state and stop thinking that defending it online will change people's narrative about it. That state is a disgrace. Anytime people travel to Anambra state and come back to north they will always tell us how noisy cheat beating we are, that nothing is in our place. That Anambra state that supposed to be the leading Igbo state is urgly, disorganized and lack good roads. But when they travel to Imo, Enugu, Abia and Ebonyi and come back they will be shouting and asking us what are we doing in the north since our places are developed? That it is only small thing that separated us from developed countries of Europe. That our cities are planned, beautiful, well kept and contain more of high and beautiful storey buildings.
Guy wake up, Anambra as a state is a disgrace to Igbo land. The most disorganized state I've ever seen. And the indigenes will be online defending something that when you travel to it, it becomes crystal clear to you. Is this not foolishness. Keep on attacking Imo, trying to paint it black online while we keep on making progress.
You can't keep telling Nigerians that Imo people are poor while in every city they know and see Orlu people's achievement and keep on asking questions about Orlu people. Orlu people are the richest in Aba and Onitsha cities. Go and conduct your research. Did you write this under the influence of hard drugs? What is stopping these Orlu indigenes from developing Orlu? Anambra state's capital is Awka but it has Onitsha as it's largest commercial city and Nnewi as it's indigenous industrial capital. What is stopping Orlu indigenes from turning Orlu into the industrial or commercial capital of Imo state? By 2027, Orlu zone would have ruled Imo state for 16 straight years and yet you guys still blame others for your undevelopment. Orlu state will not include any part of Anambra and that bill will be trashed at 2nd reading. You guys should respect yourselves. |

The health minister came all the way from Abuja to commission a maternity ward? A ward is just one small section of a hospital. Even from the pictures above you can see how small the ward is. Must we commission everything in Nigeria no matter how small it is? Is this not the same state where 1 MRI machine was also commissioned? I hope we don't start commissioning tables and chairs in the future. |

Amah70: Nothing in this Nigeria will make Anioma become a 6th state for the SE. Igbos are not stupeeed. Anioma as sixth state for the SE actually shortchanges Igbos. It reduces political representation for Ndiigbo. It reduces federal allocations to Nd'Igbo. Anioma shares the federal allocations to Delta state. Anioma controls Delta state. Anioma State in the Southsouth is of more advantages to Nd'Igbo than Anioma State in the southeast. Anioma currently has 1 senator. If Anioma becomes a state, it will have 3 senators which means more Igbo senators. If Anioma can have 3 senators instead of 1 when it becomes a state, what stops Anioma from having more representatives? Which state in Nigeria has 3 or less representatives? None. So what makes you think Anioma will remain with it's current 2 reps when it becomes a state? |
Politics › Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Unbiased1: 9:15am On Jul 05, 2024*. Modified: 10:35am On Jul 05, 2024 |
Amah70: But I explained it clearly. There are two federal constituencies in today's Anioma, though one has dissociated itself from the proposed Anioma State. There are three federal constituencies in Orlu senatorial district. If you make Anioma's two federal constituencies become the 6th state for the southeast area, the entire Igbo has lost representation in Abuja central government, lost Federal allocations, lost Federal projects, lost places in Quota System, etc. There is no state in Nigeria that can have just 2 or 3 representatives. Even if Orlu state is created tomorrow, they will definitely have more representatives and may have to create new LGAs, same applies to Anioma. Anioma currently has 1 senator but if it becomes a state, it will instantly have 3 senetors, 1 to represent Ika, 1 to represent Ukwuani/Ndokwa and the final one to represent the Enuani people (the main Igbo people of Anioma). If the state will have 3 senators upon it's creation, what makes you think it can't have more representatives? You also mentioned a representative of Anioma has rejected Anioma state as if NdiAnambra will accept that Orlu state. |

They have that chronic Igala tongue.
During raining season, you can't access those villages by road, they use boat to Onitsha, and you can use boat and get to a town in Delta state across the river Niger and find your way to Asaba.
I wish those people are allowed to live their peaceful life the way they are, they are very happy and healthy, they lack nothing and are far better off tjan those living in developed towns...I never locked my door even at night,.the day they had a festival and some guys came fron Asaba and mixed up them, that was the night o lost my android phone the suspect was an Igala boy who was an idiotic migrant. When the news got to the ears of the igwe, to my suprise they did a town cry and announced that that phone should be returned because it belongs to a stranger.....but it was never returned anyway...
they farm yam, pepper, rice and they have a lot of ogbono trees....they have soo much fish, and those people are in fact the most hospitable people after the people of benue state where I come from . They are soo nice that after my project ended, I felt like not leaving the village.
They have farming camps far away from their settlements, life in those camps is something if you experience you will never want to leave the place.

I have never seen such hospitality in my life before, the day I left the village, I was shedding tears as old as I am😁

Chikeluba25: Soludo Has Shattered Records And Made History As Anambra Takes Number One Spot In Nigeria’s Fiscal Transparency
With Soludo’s exceptional track record, expertise, and unwavering commitment to fiscal transparency and accountability, it comes as no surprise that Anambra State has achieved the remarkable feat of being ranked number one in fiscal transparency in 2024.
These significant recognitions showcase the administration’s dedication to transparent budgeting, accessible e-procurement portals, fiscal reporting, and the integrity of the state’s website. This reaffirms Soludo’s stature as a paragon of good governance, financial prudence, and fiscal integrity.
Ndi Anambra has also witnessed the administration’s impactful efforts in prudent public resource management. For instance, government offices in Anambra were spending N137 million each month on cleaning public offices until Soludo assumed office and promptly slashed the cost to a mere N11 million per month.
Anambra currently boasts the fewest political appointees across the country, and there is no official convoy for the governor’s wife. It is imperative to align with the standards of the people we govern, ensure accountability, and eliminate unnecessary expenditures and inefficiencies. Soludo's cost cutting initiative is commendable but, I feel we need to have these cost cutting initiatives enshrined in the laws of Anambra state. The fact that Soludo brought down the cost of public office cleaning to 11 million does not mean his successor can't raise it back to over 100 million. The government should speak to the house of assembly for limits to added and backed by law to ensure successive governments don't ruin this good initiative. It is similar to what happened in Abia in regards to life pensions for previous administrations. Otti refused to pay pensions to the previous governors when he assumed office. He then proceeded to ensure that the law was passed banning all previous governors from getting life pensions. Now compare that to Peter Obi and Anambra. Peter Obi rejected all the pensions and gifts he was given after he left office which was commendable but the governors after him will still get life pensions because there's no law preventing life pensions for previous governors of Anambra. So it will be nice if Soludo can compel the state assembly to pass laws to ensure that all governors of Anambra cannot exceed a particular threshold. He can tie the spending amount to inflation or any other thing, he is an economist so I expect him to know how to do that. |

Once you get Anioma State as 6th state in the southeast zone, you have reduced the representative strength of the Igbo in Abuja central government. Do you not understand that even the 12 local government areas in Orlu zone is big and populated to form a state? Bigger than Anioma in population and landmass, assuming land mass or population is a yard stick to create states, but are not. Let's look at it from an unbiased point of view. The only benefit Orlu state gives the Igbo people is equal representatives in the Senate and house of representatives. On the flip side, Anioma state has far more benefits: 1) It brings together the Igbo communities that were separated from the Igbo heartland in 1939. 2) Just like Orlu state, it gives the Igbo people equal representatives in the Senate and House of Representatives. 3) It adds about 2 million people to the population of the South East thereby giving us a huge boost during elections. 4) It will also increase the landmass of the South East. 5) 6 out of 9 local government areas in Anioma have Oil and Gas, Anioma state will add more wealth to the South East unlike Orlu state that has always been part of the East. |

My people are happy to be part of the south east and look forward to mutual development across the board. All these ones na just lip service. The Orlu bill has passed 1st reading. What I expect Ned Nwoko to do now is to call for a meeting between the Representatives of Delta North, the representatives of the Anambra South and Orlu area and Ohaneze Ndigbo to discuss this issue. The Orlu bill should be recalled at the House of Representatives and the bill for Anioma state be passed both at the Senate and House of Representatives at the same time.
