Politics / Dear Mr. Peter Obi by UncleAyo: 5:17am On Sep 14
Dear Mr. Peter Obi,

I hope this message finds you in good health and spirits. As a leader who has inspired many with your vision of a better Nigeria, I write to you today with a humble plea regarding a matter that could significantly shape the future of your political journey and influence.

The ongoing public disagreement between you and Mr. Reno Omokri, exacerbated by the behavior of certain members of your supporter base, "Obidients," has raised concerns. While I understand that your followers are passionate about your vision and their intentions are often positive, their negative actions toward critics like Mr. Omokri are beginning to harm your broader political ambition.

As someone with a proven record of diplomacy and leadership, I encourage you to take immediate steps toward reconciling with Mr. Omokri. Even if you are in the right, making the first move toward peace would reflect your strength, maturity, and commitment to a unified Nigeria, which transcends personal disputes and tribal divisions.

The Power of Reconciliation
True leadership is about building bridges, not walls. A great leader is not defined by their ability to win every argument, but by their capacity to bring people together—even their critics—for the greater good. Extending a hand of peace to Mr. Omokri would be a gesture of humility and wisdom, one that would demonstrate that you place the nation’s unity and progress above personal or public conflicts.

Leaders like Nelson Mandela exemplified this kind of leadership. After years of suffering and injustice, Mandela chose to make peace with his former adversaries because he understood that the future of South Africa depended on unity. Similarly, your act of reconciliation would reflect to the Nigerian people that you are a leader who is willing to rise above personal grievances for the sake of national development.

Addressing the "Obidients"
However, reconciliation is only one part of the solution. Another crucial step is addressing the behavior of certain "Obidients" whose aggressive and often disrespectful conduct is demarketing your cause. While their passion is commendable, their actions are unintentionally creating a perception that your political movement is rooted in divisiveness and tribalism—something that contradicts the inclusive vision you have worked so hard to promote.

It is important to remind your supporters that their actions reflect on you as a leader. When they insult or attack critics like Mr. Omokri, it not only alienates potential allies but also sends the wrong message to the wider public. If left unchecked, this behavior could make your candidacy appear to be driven solely by regional or tribal interests, rather than a national agenda for all Nigerians.

As someone who is campaigning for a united Nigeria, it is essential to remind the "Obidients" that your mission is not about one tribe or region, but about the entire country. Encourage them to engage in respectful dialogue and to focus on the substance of your policies rather than personal attacks. By doing this, you would not only curb negative behavior but also inspire a more positive and inclusive movement.

What Reconciliation and Leadership Will Signal to Potential Voters
By making peace with Mr. Omokri and cautioning your followers, you will send a powerful message to potential voters. You will demonstrate that you are not just a leader with vision but also one with the moral courage to address internal issues. Taking these steps will show that you are committed to unity, diplomacy, and nation-building, even when it requires you to make difficult decisions.

Voters want to see leaders who are big-hearted, willing to put the nation's interest above all else. Reaching out to Mr. Omokri, despite the challenges, will signal that you have the emotional intelligence to manage conflicts and foster cooperation. It will also show that you are capable of leading a diverse and complex country like Nigeria with fairness and inclusion.

The Grave Consequences of Not Making Peace
On the other hand, ignoring this growing discord could have serious consequences. Mr. Omokri is a respected figure with considerable influence, and allowing this rift to persist could give your opponents an opportunity to paint your movement as intolerant or tribalistic. This would not only damage your reputation but also risk alienating voters from other regions who may feel unwelcome in your campaign.

Moreover, unchecked hostility from your supporters could reinforce the narrative that your political ambition is for one tribe or region, rather than the entire nation. Such a perception would be detrimental to your efforts to build a broad, diverse coalition of voters. In a country as diverse as Nigeria, it is essential to be seen as a leader for all—someone who values dialogue, reconciliation, and unity.

The Path Forward
Mr. Obi, taking the high road and offering reconciliation is a mark of a true leader. By addressing the issues with Mr. Omokri and cautioning the "Obidients," you would be demonstrating to Nigerians that you are the kind of leader who prioritizes national interest over personal disputes. This will not only strengthen your political movement but also reaffirm your commitment to a united, peaceful, and prosperous Nigeria.

In conclusion, I urge you to consider these steps as a path toward healing, both within your movement and in the broader political landscape. A simple gesture of peace can have far-reaching positive effects, while silence or inaction could lead to unnecessary damage. As a leader with great potential to transform Nigeria, now is the time to demonstrate the kind of leadership that brings people together and moves the nation forward.

With respect and best regards,
Uncle Ayo.

Politics / Dear Nigerian Leaders: Do Not Reinvent The Wheel by UncleAyo: 4:52am On Sep 14
Dear Nigerian Leaders: Do Not Reinvent the Wheel

In today's rapidly changing world, leadership demands more than just reactive decision-making; it calls for a proactive approach rooted in learning from the successes of others. Nigerian leaders, whether in government, business, or education, have the unique opportunity to guide the country toward greatness. However, this task does not require the constant reinvention of new strategies or ideas. Instead, the path forward can be greatly enhanced by first observing and learning from top-performing leaders and systems around the globe. By studying these proven strategies and adapting them to Nigeria's unique social and cultural context, our leaders can avoid pitfalls, save time, and make more informed decisions.

The Importance of Learning from Top Performers
Around the world, countries, organizations, and institutions are already excelling in areas where Nigeria still faces challenges. For example, Singapore is renowned for its efficient public administration and anti-corruption measures, Finland excels in education, and Germany is a leader in industrial innovation. The successes of these nations are not accidental—they are the result of strategic, data-driven decision-making and policies that have been refined over time. Nigerian leaders can benefit immensely by observing these models of success and using them as guides for local decision-making.

Leaders across various sectors should ask themselves: Why attempt to design new systems from scratch when successful models already exist? Why struggle with challenges alone when solutions have been found and implemented elsewhere? By looking outward and identifying top-performing peers, Nigerian leaders can draw inspiration, save resources, and accelerate progress.

Avoiding Common Mistakes and Accelerating Progress
One of the most significant benefits of observing top performers is the ability to avoid mistakes that others have already made and overcome. Every successful nation or institution has encountered and tackled challenges similar to those we face in Nigeria today. Their journeys to success are filled with lessons on what works and what doesn’t, offering invaluable insights to anyone willing to learn.

For example, Rwanda’s transformation after the 1994 genocide is a powerful case of leadership using global best practices to rebuild a nation. By studying countries that had previously gone through similar crises, Rwandan leaders implemented policies that rapidly restored security, promoted unity, and rebuilt their economy. The same model can be applied across various sectors in Nigeria.

In the education sector, Finland is globally recognized for its student-centered approach and teacher empowerment. Nigerian education leaders can study Finland’s methods, including small class sizes, teacher training, and the de-emphasis on standardized testing, to improve the quality of education at home. Similarly, leaders in public finance can learn from countries like South Korea and Singapore, which have achieved economic stability and growth through disciplined fiscal management and strategic public investments.

The Role of Cultural and Social Context in Implementation
However, while it is essential to observe and learn from top performers globally, Nigerian leaders must always consider the country’s unique social, cultural, and economic context when implementing these strategies. A one-size-fits-all approach will not work. What succeeds in Finland or Singapore may need significant adjustments to work in Nigeria.

Nigeria's complex socio-political environment, religious diversity, and population size must always be considered in decision-making. For example, while Finland’s education system may offer valuable lessons, Nigeria’s large population and underfunded school system pose challenges that Finland does not face. Therefore, any reforms adopted from Finland must be adapted to the Nigerian context—such as focusing on teacher training and infrastructure improvements to meet Nigeria’s unique needs.

Likewise, in public finance, while Singapore’s model of fiscal discipline is praiseworthy, Nigeria’s economic structure, which is heavily dependent on oil revenues, will require customized strategies for revenue diversification and anti-corruption efforts. Learning from Singapore’s focus on innovation and strong regulatory frameworks can help, but Nigerian leaders will need to consider local economic and political realities to ensure these strategies are effective.

The Top-Performers Blueprint: Practical Steps for Nigerian Leaders
To maximize the benefits of learning from global best practices, Nigerian leaders can follow a clear and structured approach:

1. Identify the Best Performers: Determine the top five global leaders or institutions in your field of responsibility. Whether you lead in finance, education, healthcare, or governance, there are always global role models whose strategies can be observed.

2. Study Their Working Strategies: Analyze what makes them successful. Is it their focus on data-driven decision-making? Do they foster public-private partnerships? Are they known for their transparency, or is it their ability to manage resources efficiently?

3. Adapt and Customize: Consider Nigeria’s cultural, economic, and political realities. How can these strategies be adapted to work within Nigeria’s context? For example, Singapore’s anti-corruption policies might work well in Nigeria if adjusted to address our specific challenges with accountability.

4. Develop an Implementation Plan: Create a concrete plan that outlines how to incorporate the top 10 strategies observed from global performers. Set clear goals and timelines, ensuring that local circumstances, such as budgetary constraints and political feasibility, are considered.

5. Monitor, Adjust, and Improve: No plan is perfect from the start. Continuously monitor the implementation of new strategies, track progress, and make necessary adjustments as challenges arise. Learning is a continuous process, and strategies can always be refined over time.

Examples of Success through Global Learning
A few Nigerian leaders have already demonstrated the power of learning from global best practices. Lagos State, for instance, adopted the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system after studying its success in cities like Bogota, Colombia. The BRT system has been a game-changer for reducing traffic congestion and improving public transportation in Lagos.

Another notable example is Nigeria’s partnership with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in the fight against polio. By collaborating with global health organizations and learning from other countries’ successes in eradicating polio, Nigeria achieved significant progress, bringing the country closer to being polio-free.

Conclusion: Leadership with a Global Perspective
In conclusion, Nigerian leaders have an enormous opportunity to lead the country to greatness by learning from global best practices. Rather than reinventing the wheel, leaders can observe, analyze, and implement the proven strategies of top performers worldwide. However, successful implementation requires careful adaptation to Nigeria’s unique social and cultural context. By combining global insights with local wisdom, Nigerian leaders can make more informed, efficient, and impactful decisions that will drive the country forward in development, governance, and innovation.

men in the world, you will discover that about 7 out of 10 or more are computer/IT related, and there are many silent billionaires in IT/programming that are not even well known. So, the potential is there, but the way we recruit lecturers with PHD without practical skills or industrial experiences is killing our institutions and making them unproductive. Why is the system working with some universities abroad but not working for us? If you check profile of lecturers of MIT, Harvard, you will discover that many of their lecturers have practical industrial experiences, many of them are inventors that have companies manufacturing what they invented, and yet they are lecturing.

Some are from industries to classroom, it is not just about do you have PHD or how many copy and paste journals you have written without practical or industrial experiences, yet; they will be employed to teach tomorrow young engineers and IT experts. Even many of the equipment and tools government buy for school for practical purposes, lot of lecturers and their technologists don't know how to operate them, they only keep them in the store for accreditation purposes and not for teaching students.

Government should expose pupils in primary and secondary schools to tech, and ensure they get it right in recruiting technical oriented tutors to catch them young. Any lecturer or tutor to be employed should be given topics to teach(via voice not physical to avoid impression making) first to the dullest in the class while those students and pupils are then asked to vote whom they understand his/her teaching better. If you are a lecturer who have all the practical experiences in this world, but you can not pass your knowledge to younger generation, such lecturers shouldn't be employed to teach, they can put them in research centers. Otherwise, out institutions will not be productive; government will only be wasting money on salary and arrears without expected result.

What is the advantage of a professor who can not transfer his knowledge to students in two hours lecture? We don't need such lecturers in our institutions or tech arena, they can go into research. Anybody to be employed to teach should have sound practical knowledge and ability to transfer knowledge you have to the dullests in the class, otherwise; don't employ them as lecturers. Any lecturer that doesn't know the basic in terms of practical, his/her 1000 workshops will yield nothing to little result.

You can't be telling lecturers that learnt Cobol and fortran in his time to come for two days workshop on Java or other modern language, he wouldn't know more than solving quadratic equation. I can go on and on, but I don't want it to be too lenghty. I am not against building another tech hub, but against wastage and ineffectiveness when we can not account for positive impacts of the existing ones

Thank you for sharing your concerns and for engaging with my write-up thoughtfully. You’ve raised valid points that highlight the need for a careful, thorough approach to improving tech infrastructure in Oyo State. Allow me to address some of the issues you mentioned.

1. Need for Tech Hubs & Youth Readiness
The idea behind advocating for tech hubs isn’t just to create more structures; it’s to provide well-equipped spaces designed specifically for learning, innovation, and entrepreneurship. You mentioned the risk of the hubs becoming centers for unproductive activities like sports betting or social media use. While this concern is real, the solution isn’t to avoid building new infrastructure but to ensure proper management, supervision, and purpose-driven programming.

Tech hubs, when managed properly, can be aligned with mentorship, coding bootcamps, business incubation programs, and job placement initiatives. By bringing in industry professionals and organizations to provide structured learning paths, we can channel the youth’s energy towards productive activities. Furthermore, access to guided training and support networks will ensure that those who come in with the intention to waste time quickly see the potential of the resources available to them.

2. Assessment of Existing Facilities
You’re absolutely right that an assessment of existing universities, polytechnics, and tech centers is essential. Many existing institutions face challenges, such as outdated curriculum, underqualified lecturers, and inadequate resources. However, the tech hubs I’m proposing are not meant to replace these institutions but to complement them. They can serve as practical learning spaces where theoretical knowledge gained in schools is turned into real-world skills.

We should indeed review the impact of existing facilities, but the creation of new tech hubs can also serve as a catalyst for improving the ecosystem. For example, a well-run tech hub can offer upskilling programs for current lecturers, workshops for students, and provide resources that institutions may lack. By partnering with the private sector and tech companies, these hubs can help raise the standard of education in the existing schools and centers.

3. Youth Preparedness for Programming and Tech Careers
I agree that not all youths are ready to spend 18 hours coding or endure the frustrations of debugging errors, but it’s also unfair to assume that all youths lack the discipline and passion for tech. The goal of tech hubs is to provide a range of programs that meet youths at different stages of interest and expertise—some might start with basic digital literacy, while others may dive into more complex programming and entrepreneurial ventures.

Moreover, tech isn’t just about coding—there’s product design, digital marketing, data analytics, AI development, and many other fields that could appeal to different interests and skill sets. A tech hub should cater to this diversity, providing opportunities beyond just programming and making tech careers more accessible to the youth.

4. Training and Skills Development for Educators
You raised an important point about the skill level of programming lecturers. Many institutions face the challenge of having underqualified educators, but this is exactly why collaboration between tech hubs and academic institutions is crucial. The tech hubs can help address these gaps by providing continuous professional development for lecturers, allowing them to stay updated with the latest tech trends and practices.

In addition, bringing in industry experts and offering certifications in partnership with global tech organizations can bridge the skills gap that currently exists in many schools.

5. Positive Impact and Sustainability
Finally, while the suggestion to focus on existing resources is valid, it’s equally important to recognize that building new tech hubs with a clear purpose and structured programs can drive innovation and entrepreneurship. Many youths are eager to enter the tech space but lack access to the right tools, mentorship, and community support. A tech hub can provide these, encouraging them to pursue careers that not only benefit them personally but also contribute to the economy.

The economic future of any country, including Nigeria, will be largely shaped by technology. By investing in tech hubs and developing talent, Oyo State can position itself as a leader in innovation and create an environment where youths can thrive.

Conclusion
In conclusion, I appreciate your call for a thorough assessment, and I agree that it should be done to ensure we build on a strong foundation. However, the vision is not just about adding more facilities—it’s about creating purpose-driven tech hubs
that work alongside existing institutions to raise the bar of tech education, entrepreneurship, and innovation in the state. With proper planning, collaboration, and management, these hubs can avoid the pitfalls of misuse and truly contribute to Oyo State’s economic future.

Thank you again for your insights. I look forward to more discussions on how we can collectively make this a reality.

sreamsense:
Talking is cheap! How are you so sure it is badly needed? What is your assesement report of existing tech facilities are rightly in use across the state? Give us assessment report that youths are ready to utilize the facilities to enhance productivity and not just to use the avenues to come with their laptops to do sport betting, Facebook chats, stream entertainment videos of Davido etc.

Oyo state has many state universities, technical universities, polytechnics, monotechnic and innovation centers; what has been their impacts so far, better if you can give us assessment report to know positive impacts it has made and how many entrepreneurs have been produced that are now contributing positively to the societies. If all these things can not be satisfactorily answered, sorry; that your proposal will be another waste of money and resources.

It is better to make existing ones become more productive first than building another hub tech that will be turned to sport betting arena. How many youths are ready for commercial programming as an hubby? How many of them can endure challenges in programming before they begin to make money? How many of our youths can shun social enjoyment only to face at least 18-hours programming on daily basis?
How many youths can endure debugging simple unnoticed programming error for three days and will not run away from programming?

Your idea is good, but it should be done when there is positive report that existing ones are yielding results. How many of our programming lecturers have adequate programming skills to the extent they can point their two or three useful apps in Google play store, apple store or in the industries; and they will still be collecting salary ?

If programming lecturers also don't know programming beyond program to solve quadratic equation or 2x2 matrices, how do you expect their students to become another Billgate with their programming impacts ? Government shouldn't just throw away money because it is good to have tech structure, thorough assessment should be done first to avoid building "baba Ijebu" meeting centers for the youth unknowingly

To ensure the successful realization of the tech hub project in Oyo State, several key strategies need to be implemented at various stages, including planning, execution, and sustainability. Here’s a step-by-step approach to ensure the project is delivered efficiently and effectively:

1. Clear Project Roadmap and Feasibility Study
Before commencing, the project should have a well-detailed roadmap and feasibility study. This will help in identifying potential risks, challenges, and opportunities, ensuring that the plan is practical.

- Detailed Blueprint: Ensure a comprehensive architectural, financial, and operational plan for each tech hub. The design should account for physical infrastructure, technology requirements, and future expansion possibilities.
- Feasibility Assessment: Conduct an assessment to understand the unique needs of each local government area, such as demographic composition, digital literacy, and available resources. This will help tailor the design and services of the tech hub to specific local needs.

2. Establishment of a Project Steering Committee
The governor should set up a dedicated steering committee composed of experts in technology, project management, finance, and education to oversee the implementation of the project.

- Expert Leadership: Appoint professionals in the technology industry, project management, and public administration to provide leadership and technical guidance.
- Roles and Responsibilities: Define the roles of each member clearly, ensuring accountability for different parts of the project, such as procurement, construction, partnership management, and community outreach.

3. Transparent Procurement and Contracting
Transparency in the procurement of equipment, contractors, and partners is crucial to the project’s success.

- Competitive Bidding: Implement an open and transparent bidding process to select contractors, ensuring that only qualified and reputable firms are chosen to build and equip the tech hubs.
- Quality Standards: Establish clear guidelines and standards for materials, construction quality, and technological equipment to be used in the hubs. This will ensure the long-term sustainability and functionality of the centers.
- Third-Party Audits: Engage independent auditors to oversee procurement and financial management, ensuring that funds are used properly and that there are no cost overruns or corruption.

4. Regular Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E)
Once the project begins, continuous monitoring and evaluation (M&E) will ensure that it stays on track, and adjustments can be made as necessary.

- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Set specific, measurable KPIs for each phase of the project, such as timelines for construction, quality checks, and equipment installation. KPIs should also track how many people are trained and how many businesses are launched from the hubs over time.
- Progress Reports: Require periodic progress reports from contractors, technology providers, and the project steering committee. These should be made publicly available to maintain transparency.
- Site Inspections: Ensure that state officials and independent bodies regularly inspect construction and operational progress at each tech hub.

5. Strong Partnership Management
Given that the project will involve multiple stakeholders from the public and private sectors, strong partnership management is key.

- Dedicated Partnership Manager: Appoint a partnership manager to handle relationships with private sector contributors, international organizations, and tech companies.
- Clear Contracts and MOUs: Use detailed Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) or contracts with private sector contributors and development partners. These should clearly outline the roles, contributions, and expectations for each partner, including timelines for financial or in-kind contributions.

6. Community Engagement and Ownership
Involving the local community and making them part of the process ensures long-term success.

- Local Ownership: Work with local government chairpersons and community leaders to foster local pride and involvement in the hubs. This could include job creation in hub construction and management, or local entrepreneurs playing a key role in activities hosted in the hubs.
- Promotional Campaigns: Launch an educational campaign to create awareness about the tech hubs, their purposes, and the opportunities they offer. This will encourage greater community participation and increase utilization.

7. Capacity Building and Staff Training
The hubs must be staffed with trained personnel capable of managing the operations and delivering the necessary training programs.

- Recruitment of Qualified Personnel: Hire skilled administrators, tech professionals, and trainers to run the hubs. These personnel should have both the technical expertise and the ability to mentor and guide learners.
- Continuous Training Programs: Provide regular training to staff to keep them updated on the latest tech trends and educational methods, ensuring that the programs offered are relevant and up-to-date.

8. Sustainable Operational Model
To keep the tech hubs running successfully after the initial launch, they need a self-sustaining operational model.

- Income Generation: Implement a model where the hubs generate income through offering paid services like advanced tech courses, membership fees, and hosting events. However, basic access should remain free for local residents, with government support if necessary.
- Business Incubation Programs: Encourage the development of startups through incubation programs. These businesses can later become contributors, paying rent for space or sponsoring events, creating a feedback loop of investment into the hubs.
- Private Sector Involvement: Ensure continuous involvement from the private sector through programs that allow tech companies to recruit from the hubs, offer internships, or test products in the hubs.

9. Scaling and Replication
The success of the first few hubs will build the foundation for expansion across all local governments.

- Pilot Phase: Start with a pilot phase of building a few tech hubs in strategic locations (e.g., Ibadan, Ogbomoso, and Iseyin). Monitor the outcomes and learn from any challenges before scaling up across the entire state.
- Adaptive Scaling: Use data from the pilot phase to make adjustments and improvements before rolling out the remaining hubs. Each hub can be tailored to the needs of its specific community.

10. Political Support and Continuity
To ensure that the project outlasts any political administration, it is crucial to build cross-party support for the initiative.

- Legislative Support: Work with the state assembly to pass legislation that establishes the tech hubs as part of Oyo State's long-term economic strategy. This will ensure that the hubs continue to be supported even after changes in government.
- Public Endorsement: Publicize the project widely, gaining support from citizens and ensuring that it becomes a politically popular initiative that future administrations will not want to dismantle.

By following these steps, Governor Seyi Makinde can ensure that the tech hub project is successfully realized and becomes a key legacy in Oyo State's development. The initiative has the potential to transform Oyo into a tech innovation leader in Nigeria, creating jobs, empowering youth, and driving economic growth.

Generating Funds for the Oyo State Tech Hub Project

To successfully fund the tech hub initiative in every local government, the Oyo State government can explore multiple financing sources, both public and private, while implementing strategic policies that attract investment. Here are ways the governor can generate the necessary funds and encourage the private sector and citizens to contribute:

1. Government Budget Allocation & Prioritization
The state government can reallocate funds within the annual budget to prioritize the tech hub project as a key economic development initiative. This would require:

- Reallocating resources from less impactful projects to the tech hubs, which will have long-term benefits.
- Strategic cuts in non-essential administrative expenses to free up more funds.
- Leveraging state bonds for infrastructure development that is specifically tied to tech innovation.

2. Public-Private Partnerships (PPP)
Public-Private Partnerships are crucial in financing large-scale projects without overburdening the state's finances. The government can:

- Partner with major tech companies like Google, Microsoft, and Facebook, who are already investing in tech education and hubs across Africa. These companies could contribute financially or through technological expertise.
- Offer tax incentives or breaks to companies that invest in building or equipping the hubs. This makes it more attractive for them to contribute while reducing their operational costs in the state.
- Allow naming rights to tech companies for each hub they sponsor. For example, a tech hub in Ibadan could be named after a major contributing company like "Google Innovation Hub."

3. Attracting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI)
International organizations and foreign governments are increasingly interested in supporting tech education in developing countries. The governor can:

- Attract foreign investment grants from international bodies such as the World Bank, African Development Bank (AfDB), and United Nations Development Program (UNDP), which often support tech-based economic growth in Africa.
- Forge partnerships with international development agencies focused on digital inclusion, like USAID, to fund digital infrastructure and training programs.

4. Tech Grants and Innovation Funds
The global tech ecosystem has funds and grants aimed at developing technology in Africa:

- Apply for tech-focused grants from institutions like the Tony Elumelu Foundation, the Mastercard Foundation, or the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which have funding initiatives for youth empowerment and tech innovation.
- Encourage local entrepreneurs and startups to apply for international innovation competitions and pitch their ideas to global investors, using the tech hubs as an incubation platform.

5. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Contributions
The governor can approach large Nigerian corporations and encourage them to contribute to the project as part of their CSR initiatives. Companies in sectors like telecoms (MTN, Airtel, Glo) and banking (Access Bank, GTBank) often support projects aimed at digital inclusion, education, and youth empowerment.

- These companies can contribute financially or donate technological equipment (e.g., computers, servers) to the tech hubs.
- Offer recognition to top contributors in the form of public awards, partnership certificates, or honorary titles, motivating them to participate more actively.

6. Crowdfunding and Public Contributions
The governor can involve citizens by launching a public fundraising campaign, appealing to local pride and communal support for the future of Oyo State.

- Launch a crowdfunding platform where both local and diaspora citizens can contribute small amounts to fund the tech hubs. Reward contributors with public recognition (e.g., a Wall of Fame in the tech hubs or access to special events).
- Utilize community bonds where citizens can invest small amounts in the tech hub project and receive a return on investment once the hubs generate revenue through memberships, workshops, or startup incubation fees.

By investing in these hubs, Oyo State will lead the charge in creating a digitally literate population and a future-ready workforce, setting a benchmark for tech innovation across Nigeria and Africa.

This comprehensive, forward-thinking initiative would serve as a lasting legacy, akin to Chief Awolowo's education reforms, with a far-reaching impact on the economic and technological landscape of Oyo State and beyond.
Politics / Dear Engr. Seyi Makinde: An Open Letter To Oyo State Governor by UncleAyo: 7:10pm On Sep 10
Your Excellency,

A Call to Build a Lasting Tech Legacy for Oyo State

I trust this letter finds you well and in good spirits. I would like to begin by commending your administration for the remarkable progress and development initiatives that have transformed Oyo State into a beacon of growth and excellence. Your dedication to infrastructure development, education, healthcare, and good governance is inspiring and widely recognized by the people.

As someone passionate about the future of our state, I want to humbly suggest a legacy project that would position Oyo as a leader in technology and innovation in Nigeria. Just as Chief Obafemi Awolowo is fondly remembered for his unparalleled commitment to education in the South West, your administration has the opportunity to set a new standard by creating a tech revolution that will empower our youth and transform the state's economy.

I propose the establishment of large-capacity, well-equipped tech hubs in every local government area of Oyo State. These hubs would serve as centers for learning, innovation, and development for tech enthusiasts, providing them with the resources and environment they need to thrive in the 21st century. The tech hubs would offer training in various fields such as software development, artificial intelligence, robotics, digital marketing, and entrepreneurship, thereby empowering thousands of youths with the skills necessary to compete globally.

Your Excellency, the importance of investing in technology cannot be overemphasized, especially for any government that is serious about securing the economic future of its people. The world is fast moving towards a digital economy where technology is at the heart of every major industry. From agriculture to healthcare, manufacturing to finance, technology is reshaping the way business is done, the way services are delivered, and the way nations compete on the global stage.

Countries and regions that have recognized this shift and made strategic investments in tech are rapidly emerging as economic powerhouses. The ability to innovate, adopt, and adapt to new technologies is now one of the strongest determinants of a nation's economic strength and resilience. For Oyo State to remain competitive, attract investment, and create sustainable jobs for its people, a heavy investment in technology is non-negotiable. The future of every serious economy will be largely determined by its capacity to harness technological advancements.

By empowering young people with the tools to develop software, build startups, and create solutions, we are not only preparing them for the jobs of tomorrow but also setting the foundation for Oyo State to lead in tech innovation across Nigeria. This initiative would reduce youth unemployment, attract tech investors, foster entrepreneurship, and create new opportunities for wealth creation, transforming the state into a digital hub.

Your Excellency, this project would not only address immediate challenges but also create a lasting legacy of innovation and technological advancement in Oyo State. It would cement your place in history as a visionary leader who saw the future and prepared the state for it.

Thank you for your continued commitment to the development of Oyo State. I trust that you will consider this suggestion with the same passion and foresight with which you have approached your numerous accomplishments.

May God continue to bless and guide you in your leadership of our great state.

Yours sincerely,
UncleAyo.

Politics / Re: Have You Been Migrated To Band A By Your DISCO? by UncleAyo: 11:10am On Sep 09
You are even lucky, it is 2.89kwh for #1000 here. We were automatically migrated to band A.

In my compound, we use about 70kwh per day and that will be around #25K of electricity each day which will amount to about #750k per month.

Politics / Dangote Petrol: How Much Do You Wish He Sell It Per Litter by UncleAyo: 8:06am On Sep 05
For me I wish the fuel is sold for anything less than #200, something around #180 per litter.

An Open Appeal to Aliko Dangote: A Call for Affordable Petrol at the Heart of Nigeria’s Progress

Dear Aliko Dangote,

Your name has long been synonymous with progress, vision, and an unwavering commitment to the development of our beloved Nigeria. The recent commissioning of your refinery in Lagos marks a monumental milestone, one that gives every Nigerian hope for self-sufficiency in the production of petroleum products. As you stand at the helm of this new venture, I write to you with a heartfelt appeal on behalf of millions of Nigerians: please consider selling petrol (PMS) at a price that the common man can afford, ideally under 200 naira per litre.

A Plea for Affordability and National Well-being

As it stands, Nigerians have been grappling with skyrocketing fuel prices that have affected every aspect of life—from transportation costs to the price of food and basic necessities. With the Dangote Refinery now operational, you hold the key to easing these burdens for everyday Nigerians. Setting the price of PMS below 200 naira would have far-reaching effects on the economy and the well-being of the population. It would ease inflationary pressures, empower small businesses, and improve the quality of life for the most vulnerable citizens.

Appeal to Your Legacy of National Pride

You have often spoken about your love for Nigeria and your desire to see it prosper. In this moment, your actions can reflect that deep-rooted commitment. Pricing petrol affordably will not only make you a hero in the eyes of ordinary Nigerians, but it will also cement your legacy as a patriot who used his resources and influence to uplift the nation during one of its most challenging times. You have the opportunity to do something that goes beyond profit margins: you can give Nigerians the gift of stability and hope.

The Moral Imperative

As the largest private employer in Nigeria and the face of African industrialization, your decisions have an impact on millions. You’ve always understood that businesses thrive when the people thrive. Selling petrol at a price within reach of the average Nigerian is not just good economics—it’s a moral imperative. You have the means to ensure that this historic achievement doesn’t just benefit a few, but reaches the very core of our population. The hearts of millions will be warmed if they know that Dangote—their own—chose to put the well-being of Nigerians above everything else.

A Vision for a Better Tomorrow

Nigeria’s future depends on leaders like you who are willing to take bold and compassionate actions. Imagine the headlines in the coming weeks: “Dangote Refinery Ushers in a New Era of Affordable Fuel.” This is not only possible but essential if we are to lift the nation out of its current economic struggles.

As a patriot, a businessman, and a visionary, we appeal to you, Dangote, to lead the charge for change by offering affordable fuel to all Nigerians. Let this be the moment where commerce and compassion meet, for the benefit of every Nigerian.

Thank you for considering this humble appeal. We look forward to witnessing the dawn of a new Nigeria under your leadership and vision.

Yours sincerely,
UncleAyo,
A Fellow Nigerian Concerned for Our Future

Politics / #346 / Kwh: My House Not Even In Band-a & Mr. Adebayo Adelabu For Governor? by UncleAyo: 7:47am On Sep 05
My House is not even on band-A. #1000 electricity bought only 2.89 KWh. That is just about #346 per KWh.

Soon Mr Adelabu will come around during the next election to campaign as Oyo gubernatorial candidate. We'll wait for you.

Great companies and governments always seek to provide more and more values at lesser and lesser price; However, same cannot be said for the ones head by greedy men and women who only think about how to enrich their own pockets. They lack emphaty and without emotional intelligent.

Again, the Mr. Dangote's refinery should be a great releaf to a great number of Nigerian people with fuel selling for less than #200 per litter but let see how events will unfold.

Religion is a mental disease.

Any indistinct appearance of any figure that looks like human in the sky, on the wall or on anything or anywhere is Jesus to Christians. Let assume that Jesús actually lived, how will a cloth found just anywhere be confirmed to belong to him without any tangible evidence?

But you also said something similarly that heaven will fall if Nnamdi Kanu is arrested before he was finally arrested and while you instead of to take bold and courageous actions decided to start hiding under your beds every Mondays in protest. Are you already chest beating again to put yourself into another trouble?

Why wait for a shop to be looted (when you know will never happen), why not just start demonstrating your powers right now wherever you are in SW and see whether you will not join your Eze who is currently ruling inside the Kirikiri correctional center facility today.
