As conscientious citizen, we believe it is essential to highlight this issue and seek your urgent intervention to rectify the situation.

Firstly, we would like to express our commendation for the establishment of the NSIP program by the previous administration. It has undoubtedly made a significant impact by empowering Nigerian youths with the skills required to contribute to the socio-economic development of our great nation.

With the introduction of the independent monitoring team, transparency and accountability have been further enhanced, ensuring effective utilization of resources and the delivery of quality services.

However, it has come to our attention, through various media reports and personal experiences, that both NSIP independent monitors have been enduring significant delays in receiving their rightful compensation since January 2023.

This delay in payments has far-reaching implications, affecting not only the beneficiaries' economic stability but also their overall motivation and trust in the program, as well as the monitoring team.

These dedicated individuals, who have been working tirelessly to uplift their communities, deserve timely payment for their services rendered.

The failure to do so undermines their faith in the program and may lead to a decline in its efficiency and effectiveness. We must acknowledge the hard work and dedication put forth by the independent monitoring team, especially given the challenging circumstances they encounter daily.

We also wish to raise concern about the adverse effects these non-payment issues have on the overall perception of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs.

The delayed payments could potentially damage the image of your ministry, as well as the credibility of the government's commitment to eradicating poverty and empowering Nigerian youths.

In what appears to be a twist of events in the political arena, a group of North westerners who are staunch supporters of Hon Makki Yalleman have thrown their weight behind the APC consensus candidates for the leadership of the national assembly and are drumming support the Tajudeen Abbas / Benjamin Kalu ticket.

In an open letter addressed to the national chairman of the All Progressive Congress, the group cited several reasons why their principal Rt. Hon Makki Yalleman and the entire group of North western supporters have decided to support the Tajudeen Abbas/ Benjamin Kalu ticket.

In any political contestations, political party is supreme. In every modern democracy, Political parties organize politics, which is what induces and strengthen democracies and make it flourish. The supremacy of party politics cannot be overemphasize, because,
Political parties select candidates, Mobilize voters, Facilitate governance, and lastly, Monitor the opposing party when it happens to be in power

As s group of staunch APC supporters from the the northwest, we want to uphold the principle of party supremacy, by aligning with the decisions of the National Executive Committee NEC, of the APC, which is the highest decision making body. The zoning arrangements as announced is not only timely, but commendable.

As s group, which had worked assiduously for the emergence of Rt Hon Abubakar Makki Yalleman, to emerge Speaker of the 10 House of Representatives, we want to make the following categorical statement.

1. Hon Makki is truly a devout party man, a team player who understands and respects party supremacy.

2. Hon Makki is the first to shelve, or set aside his Speakership ambition in total respect and loyalty to the decision of the party.

3. Despite his home state of Jigawa (Northwest Zone) contributing huge number of votes to ensure victory for the party, and being eminently qualified, to him party's unity comes first.

4. Hon. Makki, in the spirit of sportsmanship has personally reached out to the endorsed candidates, Hon Abass and Hon Kalu, and congratulated them and promised to work for their victory.

5. As a peace loving and amiable parliamentarian, he underscores the significance of national unity and cohesion have been at the forefront teaching out to aggrieved members, who seemingly lost out to see reason and work for the success of the party.

6. The dust raised by the party's decision is threatening and seek thwart its victory. Reports of an alliance between some rogue or aggrieved members of our party, was one reason Hon Makki has been working hard to make them see reason and stick to the party.

7. Hon Makki, as a true democrat and an açcomplished parliamentarian, understand the challenges before the country is beyond leadership of National Assembly. In a Representative Democracy, any elected member, regardless his position can bring unprecedented succour via astute legislation to his immediate constituents. You don't have to be Speaker, to make meaningful impact on your constituents.

8. Hon Makki, as a mark of honour remain among the few Reps Member who has immense respect for his governor, HE Muhammad Badaru Abubakar who is a founding member of the APC. Therefore, will not be party to jettison its zoning arrangements.

9. Hon Makki's unique style of representation, especially youth empowerment and engagement remain one of the best, as it was all inclusive.

10. Hon Makki is no doubt, a shining light in the 9th Assembly. He has to his credit, numerous landmark Bills he sponsored and several others he co-sponsored. He has made his mark, both in and out of the Lower House, and has a greater propensity to even do more in the 10th Assembly.

11. Hon Makki, has distance himself ànd wont be party to an form of protest, revolts and unholy alliances with either the opposition or any other interest, outside the purview of party decisions.

Lastly, as a group, we want to congratulate the endorsed candidates, Hon. Tajudeen Abass, and Hon Benjamin Kalu. We equally call on everyone one to set aside their interest and work for the unity and victory of the party, to make the 10th Assembly and country a better place.

A WORD FOR THE BATIFIED

The biggest challenge that we face is complacency.

We must take nothing for granted, we must fight for every inch of space and we must struggle for every vote.



We must close ranks and not allow anyone or anything to divide us.



We must not underestimate our enemies or the level they are prepared to descend to.



The struggle is hard and the sacrifices are many.





We have been subjected to all sorts of insults, lies, betrayals and persecution by those that hate us, hate our principal and that do not wish either well.



Such is their hate that it borders on insanity: they even target our children, spouses and family members.



These are the sort of things that have NEVER happened before in the history of our country and in the history of our politics but they are happy to cross that line.



Yet regardless of their desperation, malice, mendacities, deceit and intrigues remember this: the wind blows in our favour.





PDP and Atiku cannot stop us.



Labour and Obi cannot stop us.



NNPP and Kwankwaso cannot stop us.



Only WE can stop us and that must NEVER be allowed to happen.



Like Iago said in Shakespeare’s classic play ‘Othello’, “it is in ourselves that we are thus or thus”.





The victory lies in our hands and we must be clear-thinking and focused to achieve it.



We must never allow our ranks to be divided.



We must keep our eye on the ball.



We must win votes.

We must bring in and welcome as many of the undecided and converts into our swelling ranks as possible regardless of who they are or what they have said or done in the past.



We must be kind, grateful, charitable, generous and magnamonious to those who choose to align with our noble cause, whether big or small.



We must stand with and support our leader regardless of the vicious taunting and relentless aggression that he has been subjected to by his detractors and in spite of the heat of the battle.





We must clarify issues and respond to every attempt to misrepresent, malign and discredit him.



We must expose the falsehood and evil intentions of his adversaries in the knowledge that he is the only one out of all the contenders that can bring peace, prosperity and unity to our country.



We must take nothing for granted.



No matter what price we are paying or suffering we have been subjected to as a consequence of our choice of candidate we must not be deterred, we must count it all as joy and we must keep moving forward because our cause is noble, just and righteous.



The lines have fallen for us in pleasant places and we have a goodly heritage.



The victory is ours.





It is within sight and together we shall enter the Promise Land.



None of us shall fall before we enter it and we shall all live to see and enjoy it.



BAT will be the next President of Nigeria.



God wills it and the zeal of the Lord shall cause it to come to pass.





Our nation shall rise up to where she belongs and we shall build on the foundation that has been established over the last 62 years.



It is for this noble cause that, despite the challenges, threats, insults and constraints from within and without, we continue to stand and fight.



The labour of our heroes past shall NEVER be in vain.



For the future of our beautiful children and our beloved country we will do and take anything to see to it that Asiwaju wins.



We will work hard and pray hard.





We will climb every mountain and level every valley.



We will travel to every nook and cranny of this country carrying BAT’s message.



We will stand firm till the end, we will run the course, we will hold the line and we will keep the flag flying.





We shall not be denied and we shall continue the struggle until we prevail.



May God guide and be with us and may He bring our endeavours to an expected end.
