prof800: It shouldn't be like that. In other saner countries you can walk into any hospital and request to get tested. You can even call a medic and they will come and take your samples at home if you are isolating yourself and don't want to go out. They will then send the result to you. The CDC is wrong, not like Millions of funds has not been released by the ministry of health to address this. The OP requested the test so he could get access to see an ENT doctor. This is a big lie!!!!! |

Hello all,
Pls Is the detailed list of items being brought into Canada compulsory? Do they normally ask for it in the airport during landing? I have not really noticed anyone mentioning it here when sharing landing experiences.
Also, for people that landed in Ontario, pls what other document can I use as a proof of residency in Ontario, apart from Driver's license, lease agreement and bank statements?
Thank you.. |

eddycross: Look, Underwoodd, don't fret.
My wife and I got our COPRs in November 2017. Her US visa expired same month. In December, she applied for a renewal through dropbox. It was treated as normal (as should be), and the passport + visa received 4 working days after.
Our COPRs expire May 2018. So, no issues. Nice!! Thank you... |

A555: Yes it came up when I was asked the purpose of my trip. Said I would be visiting a few friends, but that i was also moving to Canada as a Permanent Resident, so I would be delaying the trips till later in the year. Thank you.. |

A555: Had to go in for an interview because my previous US visa was a student visa, so I couldn't use dropbox. Visa was approved, and for the DS-160 form, I answered no to the question on PR of another country.
Technically, you're not a PR until you arrive in Canada, so your answer should be no.
The only thing I would suggest is that you make sure you apply early enough, so you get your passport back in good time not to affect your May landing plans. I had to reschedule my flights to Canada because my passport came back a day after my original travel plans. And i wasn't happy spending hard earned money to change flight plans when I would have had no qualms getting the visa on this end. Thank you... Did the Canada immigrant visa come up during your interview? |

A555: Yes. Got a specific question? Hello A555, I am about to apply for US visa via dropbox but I am kinda worried that the Canada immigrant visa might affect the application. Pls did you apply via dropbox or did you go for an interview? Was your visa application approved? On the DS-160 form, how did you answer the question of if you are a PR of another country? My immigrant visa expires in June, I will be landing in May. Thank you. |

tribeD: Forward your email to helpdesk@frsc.gov.ng and copy info@frsc.gov.ng, you should get a quick response. Call all the contact numbers on their website and i believe one should be working. I did that and followed up with a call. Got the letter after two weeks Thanks tribeD..I have actually sent the email to both addresses, no response yet. Will just send a reminder mail. Please can you confirm the number you called. I tried calling 0700 – 2255 – 3772 but it was not connecting.. |

mukhtar4u: Exactly my concern as well.
Knowing if the upgrade is same as ICAP course by course because the option is not there and confirming whether I really need to send same documents again.
They don't reply mails at all
Let's see if @Ehrnie and @dupyshoo can assist with their experience. Hi.. I got this reply from them; "Please be advised, your account is currently under review. Do not resend any documents. If we need any additional information, we will contact you" |

mukhtar4u: Actually according to their website, they have the basic course by course and they have what they call ICAP... Basic doesn't store verified transcripts while ICAP does.
Those guys do not reply mails, just one auto generated response! I didn't even see the option of Basic or ICAP. What I saw was "Upgrade to course by course evaluation". I sent them a mail asking if it is the same as the ICAP course by course..yet to get a reply.. They also asked me to send same documents (transcript and degree certificate) that I sent for the ECA. I also sent them a mail asking if I really need to send the documents again..also yet to get a reply.. I hope I don't sha.. I submitted my application yesterday.. @Ehrnie please did you have to send your transcipt to them again? |

If you had used DHL, delivery can be tracked online. Ok.. Thanks. |

Ehrnie: Same thought bro/sis...but I was told that even though my UK experience will count, I still need at least 1 year Canadian work experience. This means that after relocating to CAN and working (in related field) for a year, I can add my UK work experience to the 1 year Canadian experience to claim the full 4 years work experience.
Is this different from anything you've read or heard...? I am very open to opinions/ suggestions/advise....Thanks! I am a sis I havent really heard or read much. But when I went to their website, and inputted my four years Nigerian work experience, I was directed to apply for P. Eng. I guess I have to put zero for year of experience since I have no Canadian work experience. That means I have to go the EIT route. |

Travel › Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant by Underwoodd: 4:36pm On Aug 31, 2017 |
salford1: Whichever route you go, you would still need a one year canadian tutorship under a licensed engineer. When one goes the PEng route and skip EIT, that person would have no designation, but the EIT itself is a designation which can help with getting a job to obtain the 1 year experience. When you have your EIT, then you can inform interviewer that you would obtain your PEng within one year. In summary, the EIT status makes you more attractive to employers than someone with no status. Thank you.. |

Ehrnie: Yes I am. Thanks for reaching out. Do you work in the oil-patch? I presently do (I've been for over 5 years now) and was just wondering what tips / advise you can share.
What I have done so far; I'm in the process of submitting an application for EIT via APEGA. That's it
What are your thoughts...experiences...advise...etc.
Many thanks, Hi Ehrnie, Please why are you going for EIT instead of P.Eng, seeing that you have more than 5 years experience? Thanks. |
