Following the series of corruption scandal that has rocked the world football governing authority, where the top executives are currently under suspension for their involvement while they are being investigated, Nigerian Amos Adamu, is currently being investigated according to BBC Sports.

Amos Adamu is being investigated by the FIFA ethics committee, FIFA revealed on wednesday. Amos Adamu is alleged to have breached the FIFA’s code of ethics but no further information was revealed.

“I don’t know (about the investigation),” Adamu told BBC Sport. “I’m not even aware of it.”. He further went on to say that, he had not been contacted by the ethics committee about the case at all.

Until 2010, he was a member of the FIFA executive committee for four years before he was banned for all football related activity for three years. The ban came over claims that he had asked for money in exchange for world cup votes.

His suspension expired in October 2013.

Before the ban, he was the highest ranking government official for Nigerian sports for two decades and was also considered to succeed Issa Hayatou as the president of CAF

Sports / FIFA President Sepp Blatter Suspended For 90 Days, Issa Hayatou Takes Over by unicislander(m): 1:16pm On Oct 08, 2015
Sepp Blatter, long time serving FIFA president on thursday, has been suspended from all soccer related activities for 90 days, so that the Swiss authorities can investigate him thoroughly on the suspicion of alleged corruption, the new york times reports

FIFA Vice president, Michel Platini and Secretary General, Jerome Valcke, were not spared by the authorities as they have both been “provisionally banned” from all football related activity as well. The ban takes place with immediate effect.

Furthermore, Mr Chung, a former FIFA president and the most likely candidate to succeed Blatter has been banned from football for six years and fined 100,000 Swiss francs, about $103,000. The reason being that, it was discovered that he altered the FIFA’s ethics code during the bidding of the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.

This ban on the FIFA executives is a sequel to the event where the Swiss authority opened a criminal case against FIFA’s President, Sepp Blatter, late last month.

It is so sad that of recent, that the football governing body and its officials have been entangled in series of corruption charges that has dented the image of the football body a great deal.

If you could recall too, Jack Warner, a former executive of the football governing body, FIFA has been banned for life from all football related activities following the role he also played in the bidding process for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.

The sanctions upon the top FIFA executives by the governing body’s ethics committee is not cast in stone, because, it can be renewed for an additional 45 days after the expiration of the initial 90 days. The ban entails that, Mr Blatter cannot be allowed into the premises of the FIFA headquarters or even attend any match.

Sepp Blatter has been the president of the football governing body since 1998 and has rejected different calls from major FIFA sponsors to step down or vacate the position honourably.

Now that Mr Blatter has been suspended, the FIFA rules of succession states that, the president of African football governing body, Issa Hayatou, takes his place as the acting FIFA president because he is the most senior vice president following the suspension of other executives.
