I heard(don't know how true) that Aregbesola has been running the State of Osun without any Commissioners and as we can see, the state is well run . Buhari should meet him to learn how he has been able to do that |

jayrager: I don't agree with u there. Why should he use his money. Did Jonathan or any of his predecessors use their money to buy official cars and for transportation? Nigerians complain lot. We complain over nothing most times.
As the first citizen of Nigeria it's only fitting if he's able to travel to his hometown whenever he needs to at the most convenient ease. However, more importantly, He's cutting cost of transportation indirectly.
Nigerians Should stop ranting. This man has barely spent a month in office. We can begin to assess his performance after a 100 days and 6 months of his reign at the helm of office. What did you call it, Official car! Did Jonathan leave office with the car? What will you call this one? Official Helipad? After his term, will FG move it to Abuja? If the FG start constructing Helipads for all our presidents, the whole country will be filled with it. We are talking about austerity measure, near empty treasury, fallen oil price, weak naira and a helipad in Daura becomes a top priority. Come on!!!!! |

He should use his salary to build it. The news says "FG is building". What becomes of it after his tenure ends? Will the government now sell it to him or just "dash" it to him. At least Mark built his with his money(whether stolen or genuine, is a topic for another day) |
Politics › Re: FG Builds Helipad For Buhari In Daura by UnknownT: 10:40am On Jun 28, 2015 |
Rawani: Then that would be disastrous and the world will be awash with news of a President that failed to do a common soil analysis before landing his Presidential aircraft on it. Of course the soil can support the weight, if not do you think the Airforce will attempt to land there? Come on. Helicopters are not that heavy to require a soil analysis before landing. Don't mistake a Helicopter with an Airplane. An open field without any obstruction is enough. What becomes of the helipad after his tenure? This is a misplaced priority even if its been constructed with #1. |

Politics › Re: FG Builds Helipad For Buhari In Daura by UnknownT: 10:27am On Jun 28, 2015 |
Rawani: Building a helipad which will allow the President fly to Daura directly from the villa will be a cheaper option than using the Eagle One Presidential jet to first fly to Katsina and then moving the entire convoy by road to Daura, a trip that is repeated for his return as well.
Let's keep in mind that the soil in Otueke is loamy so a helipad is not necessary for safe landing, in contrast to the sandy Daura soil which would raise dust when landing that could dangerously block the pilots visibility. The construction cost of a helipad is about N2 million.
This is a 'clueful' decision which is highly efficient, especially as it significantly reduces the cost of governance. we are talking about a helicopter here not an airplane. Helicopter doesn't land like Airplane that needs a runway to land or take off. Going by soil, you forgot that Niger Delta is swampy, what if the tires of the helicopter got stuck in the "loamy soil"? |

“Never in our wildest imagination did we envisage that some senators would not be present on the day of the inauguration.” Lol! He is 100% right here, he was anticipating and preparing for a "tough" election that day but was elected unopposed and that made the victory easy(which he never expected). Just like Enyimba preparing hard for a match against Kano Pillars and on the match day, Kano Pillars didn't turn up, making the victory easy for Enyimba. This must be the easiest election he must have faced in his political career |
