Since its senior secondary. You should revise past questions in physics either WASSCE or NECO. Probably from 2014 till date.
Also do a little brush up in maths and english. some schools do give that in written test also but it will be basic maths(not WASSCE) since its not your core.
also work on your essay writing.

You should also practice how to write a lesson plan. It was posted here sometime ago. (someone should dig it up n repost pls)

U may be given micro teaching
I believe odunharry has explained that. lemme just add some salt..

Be loud n very audible. walk around ur "stage " (that's front of d class or where ever they place u to use).
do not ignore d board. write points on it from time to time like definition, SI units, etc.. as you explain..
Pick a topic you know like the back of your hand. do not teach indebt..remember it is "micro-teaching " and leave space for the students to ask questions.

For your looks.
Dress smart. go there early so you can take time to put yourself together somewhere before entering the school. It won't be nice to show up all sweaty.. you may need to take your time to dry up n clean your shoes again before entering.
Smile all through. n dont be nervous its either a "yes" or a "no".. no one will slap you. lol.

ADVICE TO NEW MEMBERS
If u cant read from the beginning of the thread which is quite understandable ,,at least try reading from like few months back till date..
That way it will be easier for you to follow and also some questions u may have in mind might have been answered in earlier pages(months).

I dont know about part-time teaching in your area but I figure it should likely follow same pattern as job search for full time..
pick a day n go around ur area n submit ur cv to schools in your area or better still, try meeting with d school owner or principal or headteacher n discuss the "part-time" thing with them.

For home lesson, its easier to get when you r already teaching..but since u are not teaching yet, you will need people to refer u.
talk to some teachers u know n also talk to some parents either in your church or around where you stay.
U may even find one that will want you to start immediately..

WHAT THE WHATSAPP GROUP IS ABOUT?


The whatsapp group is a group where we share questions and thoughts both relating to education n non -education fields.
Questions and topics shared on the group cuts across class control, student handling, job interviews, business ideas, change in job fields, creating CV, job applications, information on economy/society, heads up on current happenings, possible solutions to tackle bullying, managing one's boss at d office, how to handle an obnoxious colleaugue at work etc..
they are too numerous to mention..but thats basically what we discuss on d group.

You get to be pointed in the right direction should you be faced with a delima. you can post d prob/issue on the group n members will help trash it out.

Another major thing there is networking. I have been able to meet n network with some amazing people via the whatsapp group. both on official and unofficial stuffs. Sometimes when I am faced with a challenge at d office ,I throw it open on the group n they(members) there help come up with possible solutions.
I cant say enough.

Although there are some downsides to it too. I call it downside as some may want to refer to it as such . WE DO NOT POST VACANCIES ON THE WHATSAPP GROUP so that it(d whatsapp grp) doesnt compete with the thread.(although goldendr,a team of people and I) are coming up with a way to combat that.
Also there are certain rules and regulations which memebers are expected to abide by.

well lemme put on d brakes here. If anyone needs further clarity. contact me or any of the following peeps,I am sure they will b glad to help throw more light concerning the whatsapp group.
