Sports / The 14 Times Liverpool Have Scored A Late Winner Under Jurgen Klopp by UrVillageGuys(m): 11:24am On Dec 06, 2021
Liverpool have developed the happy habit of scoring late winners under the watchful eye of Jurgen Klopp.
Since Klopp arrived at Anfield in October 2015, Liverpool have scored 14 late winners and have shown they’re a side that’ll battle right to the very end of every match they play.

We’ve taken a look at those times Liverpool have won games late on under Klopp.

Norwich City (5-4, January 2016)
Let’s face it, you mainly remember this game because Klopp broke his glasses celebrating Adam Lallana’s late winner.

And quite right too. Nine-goal thrillers aren’t everyday occurrences, but neither is the sight of a manager losing his spectacles in a moment of exuberance.

Good stuff.

Crystal Palace (2-1, March 2016)
Christian Benteke may not have succeeded at Liverpool but he was the scorer of this late winner at Selhurst Park back in March 2016.

Liverpool fell behind to a Joe Ledley strike but drew level thanks to Roberto Firmino’s opportunistic finish.

And, after Benteke went down following a challenge by Damien Delaney, he got up to coolly score the resulting spot-kick and secure three points for Liverpool.

Borussia Dortmund (4-3, April 2016)
One of the great European nights at Anfield was decided by a last-minute winner from Dejan Lovren.

Liverpool had trailed 2-0 and 3-1 to Klopp’s former side before mounting an outstanding comeback, with Lovren’s injury-time header from James Milner’s cross concluding a night packed with drama and emotion.

Sports / Newcastle Possibly Has Enough Money To Guarantee Unusual January Triumph – Dyche by UrVillageGuys(m): 1:19pm On Dec 03, 2021
Burnley manager Sean Dyche speculates that Newcastle’s spending capacity in the January transfer window might enable them to have a January boost.

The Saudi-enabled procurement of Newcastle means new boss Eddie Howe has substantial budgets at his feet as he looks to heave the club off the bottom of the Premier League ranking table.

Acquiring players mid-season has very frequently proved challenging, with teams understandably unwilling to trade their best players to domestic competitors. Still, Dyche believes that money talks and every player has his price.

"Most teams hang on and hang on and push the financial margins for obvious reasons because they know they only have a certain window to do the deal"

Dyche said.

"It’s very difficult to get deals done early because everyone’s marketing each other’s players and putting their own sales pitch out. It’s not only agents by the way, the clubs do it as well and before you know it it’s on the yellow line at the bottom of Sky (Sports News)."

"Then of course you need a player who possibly has a reason to move. Money is obvious of course, or maybe there’s a change of manager or a falling out with the current manager."

"All of these things go into it and you have a very short period to sort this out. There are a lot of people looking at each other’s players, trying to align the deal and the right deals that can matter and not get into a position where you make deals that end up not mattering and can cost a lot of money. But maybe they (Newcastle) have got enough money to make things happen because everyone has a price in football. There are clubs I know that will just go: ‘Yeah, okay we’re going to sell’."

"Newcastle might have enough money, teams have done it in the past and they might be one of them. We will have to wait and see."

Dyche took over at Burnley when Howe’s 21-month tenure at Turf Moor ended when he quit after the demise of his mother.

Sports / Lewandoski Eyes Real Madrid Move. by UrVillageGuys(m): 1:02pm On Dec 03, 2021
According to a recent report from AS, Robert Lewandowski’s chosen landing spot if he departs Bayern Muñchen is Real Madrid.

The assumption is that the Polish forward will depart from the German giants in 2022 and, in doing so, will start what many speculate would be the final stage of his distinguished career. He’s been dubbed one of the best finishers of his era and provided what he’s been repeatedly producing in the last few years; it’s tough to assert otherwise.

The Spanish giants are supposedly going to be in demand for another forward – Kylian Mbappe – next summer, putting up some questions as to how hard in the paint they’re going to go with their squad formation.

Lewandowski is the sort of player who wants to flourish regardless of which club he’s at. So while R. Madrid may be the frontrunner right now, it’ll be intriguing to see if his stance evolves.

Sports / Pochettino Decries 0 – 0 Nice Draw, Insists PSG Deserved To Win. by UrVillageGuys(m): 5:40am On Dec 02, 2021
Paris Saint-Germain’s head coach Mauricio Pochettino argued that the Ligue 1 leaders merited a win. He was left to lament missed opportunities after his side were clenched to a goalless draw by Nice.

Unbridled Ligue 1 pacesetters PSG were denied victory at Parc des Princes for the first time this season in all competitions coming after Wednesday’s stalemate.

PSG registered 22 shots on goal – their biggest tally without scoring a goal in Ligue 1 since March 2016, with Angel Di Maria and Kylian Mbappe reaching closest to locating the back of the net but were incapable of toppling their stubborn opponents.

It was the first time in 18 Ligue 1 meetings that Nice had deterred PSG from scoring.

But Pochettino – who has been heavily correlated with Manchester United – felt PSG’s performance was worth more than a share of the spoils as Lionel Messi blasted a blank after claiming a record-extending seventh Ballon d’Or.
