Rodrygo Crossbar!😭😭 |
Bellingham should have gone for an header for that Vini ball🥲. Now he got carded. Unfortunate. |
Streetinvestor2:Thanks for sharing your opinion🙏🏽. |
Streetinvestor2:Thanks Street Boss🙏🏽. Please can you pick the more likely scenario, especially for Zenith? |
What happens to investors fund in case of over subscription to banks’ Public Offer scheme? Will some of the investors’ funds be returned or would the banks be forced to absorb all funds by creating more shares? I’ll appreciate any insight on this. Thanks. |

Penboy:Early to Mid March, 2025. |
Mankind2024:Exactly! Stock split is a more convenient term. Bonus issue should be in form of companies giving back free shares (maybe gotten from a shares-buy-back scheme) to existing shareholders without price changes. But I also understand why NGX has to effect the share price deduction for freely created/bloated bonus shares to maintain the company’s true market cap. The NGX can enforce the use of the term ‘stock split’ in place of ‘bonus issue’ going forward. |
Streetinvestor2:You suppose sabi say this Agba na cruise man😂. He is only happy with the whole FG-Forex Tax-Banks brouhaha because it aligns with his bearish outlook. Agba want our banks share prices to crash so he can load to his full at bargain junctions…bad for us wey dey the bus already but good for them bargain hunters/loaders😂. |
izzou:I give up, you are right Bro😭. Be like na current prices of land make me overestimate the value of the deal. It was a fairly cheap purchase at best then but definitely not “free”.
|
izzou:Tbh, I am not really familiar with the real estate market but I think even as far as 2013, people close to me bought lands north of 1m per plot (mostly 50ft by 100ft plots) in such areas. Now same land will be north of 5m per plot due to the recent development. I saw this image from Nairaland search to further buttress my point. Modified: Maybe I exaggerated in my last post but the deal was a good deal for Dangote.
|
izzou:$100m divided by 2635 hectare = $37,950 per hectare or roughly around $3,415 per plot (100FT by 100FT). At the time of the deal (should be later than 2014/15 and a black market exchange rate of $1=250?), that equates around #850K per plot (100FT by 100FT standard plot o). Lagos State Government definitely gave Dangote a good deal for the land because they know the value the refinery will provide for the state in the long run if not, the value of that land is easily 5-10X higher than what Dangote paid. |
Picky1:Real gems! |
UCAP is currently trading higher than Zenith! NGX is such a wonderful place fr! Anyway I think it’s better to swap UCAP for Zee atm (the 0.90 naira difference should cover the brokerage fees for sell and buy). UCAP is definitely one of the sweetest ride in NGX over the last decade💯. |
This thread has gone to the dogs. I’ll unfollow and check back in some months time (hopefully by then Justwise and the mods would have cleared the mess). I’m outta here!✌🏽 |
Devvy4:Yeah the Nacho rumored move to Saudi Arabia is kinda strong. If he goes, then Yoro deal is a no brainer. |
Ijustwantto:Yeah, it’s unlikely any of the games will enter but I like backing my choice picks at major tournaments (with small money) just for the fun of it. But I still think the Ronaldo 12 odds for top scorer is too good to pass especially with his likely starting role . |
Modified: P.S: Purely a cruise betting game post that shouldn’t be taken seriously. |
On June 11, 2024, Diageo announced it would sell its 58.02% stake in Guinness Nigeria Plc to Tolaram, ending over five decades of direct ownership. Tolaram will acquire Diageo’s shares at N81.60 per share, with a total transaction amounting to N103.7 billion, pending regulatory approvals. People on the Guinness train enjoy the ride🌚. |
victornoah:Tanimu has had a better game than your European-based Ajayi and Bassey. So no need picking on the lad. He has been decent at least. Our CB pairing has the largest fault today so it will be unfair to blame Tanimu because of his club-side. |
We have 7 games left, with 21 points to play for. Our chances of qualification is well within our grasp because our group has no outstanding team that can rack up points consistently. Doesn’t matter if we’re currently 5th with 3pts, we are just 2pts off the 1st place (Lesotho). We should get better in coming games (by taking the positives from today’s game) and try to win 5 of our 7 games left (15pts + our current 3pts = 18pts). With 18pts we should easily top our qualifying group. It’s now up to Finidi to set up the best team to pick our first win vs Benin on Monday. If we get that win, I expect a smooth ride to WC26💯🤗. |
pu7pl3:Same here. Backing him and Vini to play a starring role for Brazil as they win the cup. |
pu7pl3:Player of The Year: Vini Jr. Surprise Player of The Year: Bellingham & Lunin Most Improved Player: Lunin Funniest Moment: Watching those British Pundits take the L after their stupid predictions before the QF (UCL) games. Overall Season Grade: 9/10 Most Disappointing Player: Had to add this, because of my massive love for Rodrygo (I also rate him highly). While he didn’t have a bad season; I just felt he could have done far more, especially with his talent and load of minutes. Hopefully he ignores all the exit rumors, focus on his game, and have a great tournament in the Copa America with Brazil (and continue with that form in the new season). What You're Most Looking Forward To (or Hope to See) Next Season: Camavinga finally settling in as a starter and making that LCM role his with Kroos gone. |
FergieRaww:Sorry for your loss Fergie. Daddy is with his creator now, and things will get better from here onwards. Hopefully the boys will deliver the 15th tomorrow to at least give you a tiny bit of relief in this trying time. |
pu7pl3:With Kroos gone, Modric for one more year is awesome (I don’t care about the age and wages issues some other Madridstas have with him staying). Also liked what Cama said he in the linked tweet. Hopefully the youngsters will get to their peak quality with greater responsibility and more minutes in the coming seasons. |
pu7pl3:Is Modric sure to renew for next season? Nothing has been confirmed yet right? But I know the rumors are he is almost certain to renew. |
pu7pl3:Modified* I hope we adapt cos we sincerely need to. If you watched our games without either Kroos or Modric in the team, then you will agree with me that our midfield combination of Cama-Tchouameni-Valverde has been quite poor (see our first game vs Celta Vigo as an example before Kroos and Modric came on at the hour mark). Watch the full games to see my point because there are others too. In general, this season our best midfield combinations in games mostly included Toni Kroos because of his passing ability and greater midfield control (especially the long passes that helps our switch of wing plays in possession). I will love to see how a possible Tchouameni-Valverde-Bellingham midfield works if we choose to use 4:3:3 to accommodate Mbappe-Vini-Rodrygo/Diaz upfront as rumored. |
BlueAngel444:I’m okay with Ceballos being a squad player and hopefully with Kroos gone, he might get more minutes next season. Yet I still don’t think he can ever be a starter at Madrid because he’s just not that good enough (having watched him since 2017-till date including his Arsenal loan spell). pu7pl3:Yeah, exactly! I have no problem with Ceballos being a squad player for rotation or as backup when injuries happen. But we might still need to splash money on a new midfield signing as a longer term solution for Kroos & Modric exit since there is no one in our current roster who has that DLP/maestro ability. |
typicalgamer:He’s on relatively high wages (€11-12m/year). He can’t get a similar wage offer in Laliga, which is the only realistic alternative for him IMO. With his contract running until 2027, don’t be surprised if he remains a squad player for the next 3 seasons to keep taking that fat paycheck (like Hazard and Bale in his later years). In hindsight, Pa Perez made a bad decision renewing him after that 5-10 games streak of good performances toward the end of last season. |
Smartb0y:I saw what you did there🫵🏽. It’s Simp-ly a matter of choice💯 |
Today's bears finally pitied us small and calmed down towards the close of business. Hopefully, this is a sign of a sustained upward trajectory in the short-term. At least let the bears allow us breathe small . Seeing UBA@19, Zenith@under 30, FCMB@6.15, Transcorp@10.15 etc. go shock even the most optimistic NGX investors but thanks for the reversal to limit the shedding of our portfolio. Anyway, it's the planting season for folks with funds to keep picking more units of their choice stocks. Whereas for we that don't have investible funds, na to wait for sideline and hope for better days ahead and hold body small with any tashere dividend. It's well 🙏. |
