me i dont do all these maths deeply. what i know is this

i had 210,000 units of access bank

sold all @ N23. used the money to buy at N17

after all the fees

i currently have 277, 740 units. this is a gain of 67,740 units

if i decide to sell that gain now i will get N1,170,513 after commission. And i wont sell until i see it at N23

but if i had kept my 210,000 units without selling, i will earn dividend of N378,000 and when 10% WTH is out it will come down to N340,000.

Its good to know how to play with numbers and pray to be lucky as well.

If we replace the 3% with 2.25%, we will still get a higher cost for the round trip in brokerage fees compared to the 10% WHT.
Note: I am not really faulting your strategy. I am just pointing out that the risk is similar to normal trading (outside dividend payment window) of hoping to sell high and buy lower.

I get his point. But is there a 100% guarantee of the share price falling after price markdown? If YES, then his holding is sure to increase. If NO, then he might have to wait for long to enter back or possibly get the stock at higher price (thereby reducing his holding). So las las, it’s not really a bulletproof strategy and just similar to normal stock trading.

me this was what i did.

1. instead of N1.8 dividend of access bank, i sold all my holding before qualification date for N23, entered with all the money again at N17. My own dividend compounded directly was N6 (23-17). My total shares increased tremedously

2. UCAP, i sold before qualification at N22.5 to jump the N1.8 dividend. used all the money and entered at N16.8. Dividend compounded was N5.7 (22.5 - 16.8 )

the above was possible because those stocks did not recover immediately as some might do. sometimes this thing na luck. i just took my chance.

e get one wey i don sell all too and waiting at the point of entry, that one done drop 25%, i am waiting for just 5% drop and i am good to go.

Good strategy. But the 10% WHT (withholding tax) will probably be lesser than your brokerage fee. Let’s say your brokerage fee on a #20 stock is 3% (cumulative to sell and re-buy). You lose #0.6 on going for such round trip. Whereas same #20 stock has a 10% dividend yield of #2 so your 10% WHT will be #0.2 per share. At the end, what you’re running from in WHT will still catch you via brokerage fees. Except the stock depreciates considerably after dividend payments (like your UCAP and Access examples) but that’s not a certainty (e.g Zenith is yet to depreciate post-dividend payment).

I prefer Vini to win it. IMO He’s our best player (No diss to Bellingham cos he’s a close contender). That injury and games missed was a disadvantage to Vini but his form at the end of the season especially in UCL KO games gives him an edge over Bellingham. Hopefully, Brazil can win the Copa America to boost Vini’s PR and credibility for the Balon d’or.

FBNH drop in price in the past 2 months is worrisome. From challenging the big boys Zee and GTB to now being relegated to Access level. Kinda interesting to observe such U-turn of stock trends in this market. Zee still remains my favorite Bank stock

Rodrygo is a LW. It's unfortunate he has to sacrifice his full potential to play on the right wing (because of Vini) yet some fans can't appreciate his talent. Napoli (or his teammates) shouldn't be blamed every time Osimhen blanks. Today he played quite well and had an okay game but his finishing was poor (ref: see the attached screenshot below). Osimhen could have scored a goal or two but there is no need to drag him because every good striker misses (the fact that he sees enough quality chances per game is a good sign of his ability IMO). The goals will keep coming but Osimhen needs to improve on his finishing (especially with his legs and in 1-on-1 situations).

Lol, this is the problem with some football fans. Dribbling doesn't correlate with productivity as a winger in this modern football era. Kindly see screenshots of recent games of Salah (the current 2nd best winger in the world, after Mbappe). In all 4 games Salah was one of the best rated players yet he had 0 completed dribbles. A winger who creates more and offers more goal threat is better than a shaku-shaku dribbler like Doku et al. I hope people learn to understand football better to avoid a scenario of equating overall football talent to dribbling talent.

For your last question: yeah it's kinda serves like proof of funds to pass through the visa application stage but she will have full access to the loan funds once she lands in Canada. Tbh i didn't do much preparation for TOEFL because I wrote the exam 2 weeks after my GRE. My GRE verbal preparation made TOEFL kinda easy and I did well at the end. I only used Gregmat (an online tutorial website) for my TOEFL/GRE preparation. Gregmat cost $5 a month (you have access to updated TOEFL/GRE materials, flashcards, and tutorial videos). It is quite popular among American/Indian GRE takers.

Everyone opinion defers. To some Madridstas: City might be their worst game. To me and other Madridstas: losing 4-1 at home to lowly Ajax was our worst UCL KO experience. To others it might be another game. My main point is that you are overreacting about the 5-1 aggregate loss to City. It's not an unusual scoreline in UCL KO games. Madrid 5-0 vs Pep's Bayern; Barca losing 7-0 vs Bayern etc. are bigger losses. Over-stressing the 5-1 win and claiming PTSD for our boys is just too much nonsense. Maybe it's because you're a City fan so that victory was the highest moment of the history of your club, which explains why you can’t get over it .

2 things.

1. City were better than you both home and away when you won. So what will bring the PTSD? Have you not lost games to teams you were better than?

2. City did not even out a win against RM. You were absolutely walloped. PTSD is coming from the fact that it literally looked like Men vs Boys. It was not 2-1 or 6-5. You were disgraced 5-1.

Ajax also trashed us 4-1 at home in 2018/19. That game was even more embarrassing to me than the Man City game. Barca has trashed us 5-0, 4-0. Same for Tico who gave us 4-0. Bad games like these aren't uncommon to Madridstas. City beating us 4-0 was a bad day so no need making it seem like it was our doomsday. Madrid was bad last season and City capitalized on our poor form to humiliate us. We couldn't even win the league against an average Barca side.

We're better this season (topping La liga) and on better form. These QF matches will be interesting. City might be the favorites (55-45), but I am confident we will go triumph City across both legs.

What i have observed is that ex-players from continental Europe tend to have superior tactical insight when talking about football, whereas those ex-England players usually give strange input.

It's not surprising. Even EPL quality only became better after the top clubs switched to having foreign players as the main core of their team.

Now it's across the whole league. The Spanish, Germans, Dutch, etc also tend to have better coaches which is a indication of their higher tactical understanding of the game.

Let’s get one thing clear first. Southgate is a wack manager. Any good performance by an England player is not because Southgate knows how to use the player.

Secondly, Bellingham and Foden are both at their best in advanced central areas. Foden excelling on the right wing for Pep is because of a well-oiled machine that Pep created at City, which is not the case for England. Bellingham at the 10 and Foden on the wing will likely fail because of lack of fluidity (Bellingham) and lack of penetration (Foden).

The only solution that MIGHT have them in the same side with a successful outcome is if Bellingham sacrifices and drops into the 8 position and Foden plays the 10 position. The obvious question with Bellingham at the 8 and Foden at 10 is the possible lack of defensive solidity if Bellingham can’t maintain positional discipline. Another question is, how good is he really as a CM if he is not scoring goals.

Otherwise, one of them has to start at the 10 position while the other holds the bench, so that true 1v1 wingers like Saka, Bowen, Gordon, Rashford can play to offer a threat behind the opposition.

Getting both in the same team requires a fair bit of shoehorning, and might lead to a tactical imbalance, which is why I compared it to the Gerrard/Lampard situation.

Foden is likely to be an impact player from the bench at the Euros. Like you said: Saka offers more width and penetration than him at the RW. Also true for the LWs where the likes of Rashford, Gordon, or even Sterling are better options IMO. Foden's main competition should be Bellingham but from the past year's England games (including yesterday's), I think it's clear that Bellingham brings more to the team than him and has a better dynamic with Kane's tendency to drop back into MF role. Foden couldn't impose himself yesterday and was barely existent when he moved to the 10 role after the Bellingham sub.

If Man City goes on to win big trophies this season, Southgate will be in a very difficult position. He knows starting Foden from the bench might be the best tactical setup but that will incur the wrath of English fans who rates Foden as the best English talent. Walahi, big decisions ain't easy as a Coach but a man with balls has to make them!
