Don't worry, the new advisory is effective 12am EDT, which is 5am in Nigeria. Your flight is 1pm, so the rule would have already been in place before your departure. Show them the news if they disturb you at the airport

Antigen can be done same day of your trip. Result is instant. Check the attached

You can do either of the test but know that antigen has to be a day before you travel while PCR is 72 hours before you travel.

My concern is that the antigen test is only valid for 24/48 hrs and for those going to Canada which will last for more than 24 hours. imagine u do it a day before u travel like yesterday and u travel today u will get to Canada on Tuesday. The number of days will be over 2 days which could be due to delay in flight or cancellation

The attachment here should clarify you. You can do the test the previous day and fly the next day and it's perfectly OK.

Exactly! I think I'd be sticking to the Antigen Test. It'd have also been rampant before my flight date.

But my issue is the 24hrs timeframe before flight time for doing the test. Cause my flight is an early one.

I was concerned about our overzealous folks at Nigeria Airports too, but I realized that you can always ginger them to enquire from their superiors on the matter. My school held orientation course for us on Saturday and they mentioned it specifically that you can come with either pcr or antigen

Walk in to any standard lab nearby and ask for covid antigen test. If the ones you check don't run the test, they'll know those that do. My office sell the test kit, I'll check for list of our customers in Lagos tomorrow and let you know. Should not cost more than 10k to run the test.

Police character certificate is not requested for nor required for study permit application for Nigerians. It does not necessarily add anything to your application

You must not do pcr anymore. Antigen test is acceptable now, and can be done at many places

Check Qatar Airways, also use flight scanner to check fares across different airlines and dates. Qatar has nice rates and use cbn rate for dollar conversion

Canada has relaxed their rules for pre arrival covid testing. They now accept antigen test, if you don't have PCR/molecular covid test, starting from 28th Feb. Did you observe if this was being implemented by our Nigerian airline staff? From available info, the antigen test is less painful, more convenient and significantly cheaper than the usual molecular test.

So at the Toronto airport I got my study permit in like 15 mins. The guy asked me for my arrive can, my letter of introduction, my LOA from my school, my proof of payment and also asked me for proof of funds. I provided everything.
He gave me my study permit and gave me a number to call to extend my permit if I want to stay longer.

I saw somewhere that IRCC promised to finalize applications submitted via new portal within 45 days or so. So I added this beyond processing time phrase after day 50. In my prior mails, it was just a request for a quick decision and an update on the status of the application. I don't know if the 45 days thing was true or not, but I took it to them like it was correct.

I don't know about the site you want to use for gcms, but I used Anọn and it arrived 33days after

My name is... , a study permit applicant from Nigeria with application number S... and UCI number.... .

I submitted my study permit application via the new IRCC application portal on 21st November, 2021 and my upfront medical was updated to passed on 25th November, 2021. However, no other updates has been posted on my portal or mail since then till now, which is long past the normal processing time for applications submitted via the new portal.

I am well aware that your office is inundated with large volume of applications that may exceed your capacity to process all within your quoted processing time. However, I am pleading for a speedy resolution of my application. I have found it very difficult focusing on my career and business here since the turn of the year as all my plans for the year are tied to my study plan.
I humbly plead that you do your best to conclude the processing of my application as soon as possible to enable me take more definite steps with regards to my study plans for the year and regain my mental health and psychological balance.

Was it the webform you used in mailing ircc or there is a particular email address?

I don't think you should submit any documents at this point, unless IRCC requests for it, else, you should expect a longer processing time, because your eligibility review will be paused for the new document to be reviewed and verified before eligibility will start again. Chill and be hopeful.

Kindly search on Google for member of Parliament for the city your school is located in. For example, if your school is located in Toronto, simply search for members of Parliament for Toronto, and you'll see the list of MPs for Toronto with their contact details

I'm not exactly sure of what the right answer will be, but one thing I understand from the responses these other consulates give is that, if they're not the office handling your application, they'll reroute your enquiry to the appropriate consulate handling it. That, to me, serves same purpose as you writing to the primary office directly, which is to constantly remind them to look at your application.

Send to nrobi-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca, then copy the rest or if you have the patience, you can send to all individually. Majority of study permit applications from Nigeria are handled by VOs at Nairobi, so its good to prioritize them.
Also send to Abuja separately because they give personalized response sometimes, unlike most others that always give generic responses. In fact, If you ginger them very well, when ppr drops, they'll most likely send you a mail about it, more like telling you to carry your wahala and go.
Don't forget to use webform very often. The VOs receive, read and record it in your case file, as you'll find in your gcms notes.
Contacting willing MPs to ask IRCC how far on your behalf helps as well. My eligibility started a day after IRCC responded to the request an MP sent on my behalf.
These are just my opinions based on personal experience, not a guru

I feel you're just really anxious about everything in your application now. You don't need to explain your trips to dubai, especially when there's no immigration issues in the process. Hand over the application to God in prayer and trust him to grant your desire. Nothing he cannot do. Stop panicking

Pls i need your advice on something. My international passports which i submitted scanned copies of while applying 1st December shows series of trips to Dubai. Ive been to dubai about 20 times in the last 10 years. My last trip was January 2020. I have a personal unregistered business which i started when i left banking in 2012. I still continued the business when i got another job in 2014. I havent travelled again since 2020 January because covid came and slowed down the business.
Pls im just thinking that the VO may be wondering why i have made so many trips to dubai. In my LOE i stated that i started a small business when i left banking but i didnt indicate that its an international business and that i made so many trips to dubai. Pls do u think thats a vital information to share with the VO. Pls also recall i am the same person that had to raise webform and send emails for the previous UK and USA refusals when i was single and one USA refusal in 2010. Pls i am thinking of raising another webform to explain these frequent dubai trips. DO u think its necessary.
