I disagree to this, it happens everywhere, it becomes degrading when your intent is to go and donate some relief materials to the flood victims in the floodrida USA and I doubt that for now but for business/adventure wise, it is congratulatory. you know why, it is a prerequisite to the success of your entire set goal, and believe me, it is the hardest and the most troublesome part.
Maybe, a little check on what other foreigners go through seeking a Visa to Nigeria would show you that it is not easy in either side. So every progressive stage reached should be celebrated.

Vicjustice: For the PAYSLIP, though it is required, but it may not have mattered too much if his income is detailed in his bank statement, and unfortunately, (you have said that) his bank account has nothing to write about... except for the "Micro Finance" savings (which also does not, and can not show his incomes).
Now, if a bank is not internationally (or at least nationally) recognized, such bank can not be acceptable to the Embassy: therefore, given that the account that you are talking about here is a "micro finance" or whatever, i don't see any need to answer other questions since the fundamental documentation is short of the requirement.

Vicjustice: If that is the case, then perhaps it wasn't judged as fraudulent...
I explained this in the original post: that visa officers are not obliged to inform applicants of their ban/no-ban status unless if asked.

Largeabbey: Hi Nairalanders! I Did my interview yesterday at the US embassy, Lagos. It was a denial! But am glad I wasn't as sad as I thought. Trying doesn't kill they say. Below are the questions I was asked.

VO: Why do you want to go to the US?

ME: To honor my family friend's invitation and to spend 14 days out of my leave.

VO: What do you do for a living?

ME: I am an accountant.

VO: Have you ever traveled out of Nigeria before?

ME: Yes, I have been to United Kingdom twice and to Ghana once.

VO: Are you married?

ME: No, but I have an up coming wedding in December.

VO: What does your Fiancee do?

ME: She works.

VO: What does she do for a living?

ME: She's an accountant.

VO: I am sorry your visa isnt approved.

At no point was any of my documents checked. I was a bit disappointed but I still give God the glory since I have a 2 years valid uk visa. I will apply next year to see what they have in store for me.

Vicjustice: If the visa officer judges that he used an invitation letter that had been used before by three other applicants, it therefore means that the letter is considered to be fraudulent, and for that, i'm of the opinion that he got the 10 years ban: therefore, there is no need to talk about other issues

Vicjustice: The refusal stamps are definitely not something plausible on your passport, it could mean a bad influence on your application; yet, it is possible to get the visa even with that: the reasons for the refusals have great role to play in deciding your chances.
Warning: If you deem it reasonable to get a new passport, remember to do it with the same data as in your current passport otherwise, you will regret it the rest of your life.

The consular officer asked da following questions:
Q: why are u going to the u.s.a
A: i'm going for pleasure, tourism and sightseeing.
Q:Where are you going in the U.S?
A: i answered
Q: have u travelled outside Nigeria b4?
A: Yes I've been to .....
Q: where do u work?
A: Bleep Nigeria Ltd as project manager
Q: are u married?
A: am nt yet married but am engaged and soon to get married.

Am sorry u do not meet the requirements for the visa.
That was how it went.

VCTROKOYE: I have a valid visa that will expire in 2014. I equally have a good job.
Three members of my family are American citizens. My twin brother traveled thru visa lottery and two other ones, there husbands are citizens.
My brother has already applied for me for green card since 2006. And my brother has a good job just like me. He told me he would sponsor my trip to US and that I should apply. He is ready to send all the documents. My mother is there presently as a green card holder, although she would return on oct 20.
Please, how do I convince the consular office?
