The Office of the Special Assistant to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on Art, Culture and the Creative Economy, led by Mr. Ayomide Adeagbo, recently launched an initiative titled “EmpowHERed,” a project dedicated exclusively to the growth and development of women in the creative economy. On Friday, 14 March 2025, in the heart of Lagos, the epicenter of creativity and innovation, there was an unveiling of a first-of-its-kind government initiative, developed with the intent of catering to the needs, aspirations, and dreams of women in the cultural and creative industry. The EmpowHERed Initiative, a defining hallmark of its time, had its summit, “The EmpowHERed Summit 2025” during a most significant period, i.e. the International Women’s Month, with its discourse built on this year’s theme, “Accelerate Action.” On the day of the summit, three interconnected streams of women, driven by pulsating passions at the intersection of culture, creativity and digital expressions converged as speakers and participants. The summit amplified the voices of empowered women, including Hon. Aisha Adamu Augie, Director General, Centre for Black and African Arts and Civilization (CBAAC); Chalya Shagaya, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Entrepreneurship Development; Shaffy Bello, Actor; Funke Bucknor-Obruthe, Founder, Zapphaire Events; Sandrah Tubobereni, Founder, TUBO; Lola Ogunnaike, Journalist and Global Media Personality; Banke Kuku; Keke Hammond, COO Flytime Promotions; Maryam Apaokagi (Taaooma), Content Creator, and many more. These women engaged in discussions on topics ranging from policy in creative industries, breaking barriers as a woman thriving in creative fields, scaling creative business, turning passion into profit, technology and the future of creativity. With a charged environment, designed for the creative dreams of women in Nigeria, the summit affirmed with clarity that creating an enabling environment for women is not a mere option but an absolute necessity, as the success of one woman impacts a generation. The Office of the Special Assistant to the President (Art, Culture, and the Creative Economy) possesses rare intentionality, as EmpowHERed moves beyond dialogue and introduces a transformative program set to empower 180 women over the next three years. With this, it is axiomatic that at the core of the EmpowHERed Initiative is the enduring desire of the Office to leave a mark of sustainability and posterity, uplifting not only the present generation but also the future. In the words of Mr. Ayomide Adeagbo, the Special Assistant to the President (Art, Culture and the Creative Economy) and the convener of the initiative, “our staggering reality demands nothing less than bold, accelerated action,” and this is exactly the motive of EmpowHERed. He further expressed his appreciation to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for giving him the opportunity to present and launch an initiative that stands as a space where women are seen, acknowledged, supported, and empowered to become leaders, innovators, and architects of their own creative future. With everything being taken into account, it is evident that EmpowHERed is a vision of accelerated action, positioned to take its place within the pantheon of landmark empowerment programs in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

I still got my package after everything anyway. Attention! Beware of SHARP SHARP DELIVERIES AND LOGISTICS SERVICES! They may sound sharp, but their service is anything but. Don't be like me, avoid the headache and use a different delivery company. #DeliveryDisaster #AvoidSharpSharpLogistics #NotSoSharpAfterAll"

SHARP SHARP DELIVERIES AND LOGISTICS SERVICES: A Cautionary Tale In today's fast-paced world, delivery services are becoming increasingly popular. With just a few clicks, you can have your goods delivered right to your doorstep. However, not all delivery companies are created equal. Some are reliable and efficient, while others can cause you more harm than good. In this blog post, we'll discuss one such company that has left a trail of unhappy customers in its wake: SHARP SHARP DELIVERIES AND LOGISTICS SERVICES. Background Information SHARP SHARP DELIVERIES AND LOGISTICS SERVICES is a Nigerian delivery company located in 4 NEW JERUSALEM, BY POLICE SIGNBOARD, DUTSE. According to their pages, they offer fast and reliable delivery services to their customers. However, recent customer reviews suggest otherwise. Many customers have reported experiencing unprofessional behavior, delayed deliveries, and even threats of violence from the company's representatives. My Experience I recently had the misfortune of using SHARP SHARP DELIVERIES AND LOGISTICS SERVICES to deliver some goods to me. At first, everything seemed fine. I was told that my goods would be delivered within a few days from Wednesday to Thursday and the delivery company reached out Thurs, and I was provided with a tracking number to monitor the delivery process. However, after Thursday had passed, I still had not received my goods. I tried to contact the company through their customer service number and email address, but no one responded to my queries of calling before delivering any product, so I can let them know which place before delivering. A hours later, I received a threatening message from one of the company's representatives named Loveth Tochukwu Azu( she's actually the owner). She accused me of not picking up my goods from their store, even though I had explicitly told them to contact me before proceeding to any location because I was not stable. She threatened to pour acid and pepper on me and even arrange for boys to beat me, she cursed my generation, she also threatened my life, saying that it would not be well with me and my offspring. I was terrified by her aggressive behavior and wondered how a company could employ someone with such unprofessional conduct. Despite her threats, I managed to retrieve my goods a few hours later. However, even that experience was fraught with danger. When I met with the delivery girl I got my product, It was a harrowing experience that left me wondering how many other people had been subjected to such treatment. Conclusion Based on my personal experience and the experiences of other customers, I cannot recommend SHARP SHARP DELIVERIES AND LOGISTICS SERVICES. Their unprofessional behavior, delayed deliveries, and threats of violence are unacceptable, and it's clear that they don't prioritize their customers' safety or satisfaction. As a delivery company, they should strive to provide efficient and reliable services, not terrorize their customers. If you're looking for a reliable delivery service in Nigeria, I recommend doing thorough research before choosing a company. Read customer reviews, check their track record, and don't be afraid to ask questions before entrusting your valuable goods to them. By doing so, you can avoid negative experiences like mine and protect yourself from harm.

In a way of showing love and support to women, wife of the Accountant General of Kogi state Hajia zainab Jibrin has distributed food items, rappers and cash gift to over 5000 women across four communities in Kogi Local Government Area of Kogi State. While distributing the items during a community outreach across Koton-Karfi, Gegu Beki, Uhana and Edaha communities, Hajia Zainab said it has always been her desire to reach out to the needy and support her fellow women with the little she has, “I am appreciative of the kind hearted and generous husband God has blessed me with, he has always been supportive and a pillar to my vision and charity work. May Allah continue to bless him and grant all his desires”. We humbly write Your Excellency to call Mr Silusu Usman Ogbo the Rector of Kogi Polytechnic to order. It has become a life style pattern of Mr Ogbo to victimize Staff and Students of Kogi Polytechnic from Okun extraction since his assumption of office as the Rector. A particular case at hand is a Stuff of the Polytechnic from Okun Land, Mr Ajayi Samuel Oni who was one of the victims of physical attack during the re-election of Governor Yahaya Bello in Mopamuro. Mr Ajayi's offence is yet to be communicated to him neither did any formal letter of query issued to him rather Mr. Ogbo has instructed that his salary be put on hold for the past five months. This satanic and wicked inhumanity to man action of the said Rector has subjected Mr Ajayi to psychological and physical imbalance. Never has the said victim missed a day at work even during this sad ordeal yet his hard earned salaries are confiscated by this powerful and untouchable Rector. All plead to Ogbo to allow this young man have his Salaries proved abortive since September 2022. We therefore use this medium to call on the good office of His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello to urgently intervene on this matter so that the innocent soul of Mr Ajayi won't be sent to an early grave by his actions. Comrade Agboola Emmanuel Concerned Okun Youth for Emancipation.

On January 29th, 2023, Honorable Segun Olorunnipa successfully organized an interaction with the youth of Kabba and Bunu at his residence in Onayekan Villa, Edumo, Bunu. The theme of the evening was "Let's Dine and Wine" and the goal was to discuss how we could work together to grow our community and move forward as individuals within the political party known as the All Progressives Congress (APC). The Kabba and Bunu communities have a rich history and culture, and it was important that we came together to discuss how we could preserve and promote these values while also working towards a brighter future. The youth of our community play a vital role in shaping the future of Kabba and Bunu, and it was essential that we came together to share our ideas and perspectives. During the event, we engaged in an open and honest dialogue about the challenges and opportunities facing our community. We also explored ways in which we could come together to support one another, build stronger networks, and make our voices heard within the APC. One of the key issues that was discussed was how to empower the youth of our community to take an active role in the development of Kabba and Bunu. There are many opportunities for young people to get involved in politics, community service, and other activities that can make a positive impact on our community. However, many youth feel that they are not given the support or recognition they need to be successful. In addition to this, the youth suggested that the organizer should also look towards empowering the youth through job opportunities and appointments to offices and parastatals. They emphasized that this would help them to gain the experience and skills they need to be effective leaders and make a positive impact on our community. We also discussed ways in which we could promote economic development and job creation in our community. The unemployment rate is high among the youth in Kabba and Bunu, and this is a problem that needs to be addressed. By working together, we can create opportunities for young people to find meaningful employment and build a better future for themselves and their families. Another important topic that was discussed was how to promote education and lifelong learning among the youth in Kabba and Bunu. Education is the key to success and it is important that we invest in our young people so that they can reach their full potential. We discussed ways in which we could provide access to quality education for all youth in our community, regardless of their socioeconomic status. In addition to these important issues, we also discussed ways in which we could promote unity and cooperation within our community. The youth of Kabba and Bunu come from diverse backgrounds and have different perspectives, but it is important that we come together to work towards a common goal. We discussed ways in which we could build stronger networks and support one another in our efforts to make a positive impact on our community. The attendees were privileged to have the presence of Jumabee, who charged the youth on the need for oneness among the youth. Also in attendance was the Kabba Student Union President, who talked about student welfarism. Furthermore, the Olorunnipa Care Foundation material was also unveiled during the course of the meeting. The event was a great success, with many participants sharing their ideas and experiences, and working towards a common goal. It was an opportunity for us to come together as a community and make a positive impact on our community and political party. The organizers and participants are looking forward to future interactions of this kind, to keep the momentum going and work towards a better future for Kabba and Bunu.

Two young Nigerians , Damilola Bidemi David and Raji Rufai has launched a new social media app known as ‘Student Connect Nigeria’. Student Connect Nigeria, a social media messaging app, developed by Nigerian developers, is set to take over Facebook, Twitter and others. According to Mr Raji, the App Chief Operating Officer, the social media app was launched on November 22, 2020. Student Connect Nigeria is an indigenous messaging application, which enables users to chat, make audio and video calls, watch video reels, solicit for funds online(Gofundme), unrestricted numbers of group chats as well shop for affordable and genuine products. He further stated that Student Connect Nigeria is a social media application that enables people to connect to each other in communities, share videos and audios, stickers and files, blogging and also grow business. There is a feature that enables two or more people to share third party videos while make video calls and watch the same video simultaneously. Recently the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), put mobile subscriptions as at June at 163 million, which have heavily relied on foreign messaging app that serve no local content as it were, Student Connect Nigeria is positioned to bridge that gap. Mr Raji, said there is no doubt that Nigerians are hungry for a new technology and need something different that can be called our “own”. “We are not in for revenue purposes, we are in it to solve a bigger problem and create employment in the country.” According to him, every Nigerians are embodiment of possibilities, potentialities as it were, “for Nigeria to be what we want it to be, Nigerians must come out to figuring how to solve our problems, we must invest in our people, equip them to contribute productively and creatively. The App is safe because more authentication has been put in place to protect end to end encryption of private chat between users, He stated that the app is built in a way to protect users’ information and privacy, as data security is our priority “We have the admin panel for the team use. They can see any post and other things but cannot see the chat conversations. We can delete videos, pictures if there is a report and accounts can also be deleted. “Also, users’ pages can also be modified. Misinformation, fake news can be handled and taken down when users report issues and we confirm it as fake. Same goes for gory contents”, Mr Raji said. “We do so much than messaging, we want to empower and improve on the way messaging is done today, by giving access to users to shop, while chatting and talking at the same time. Mr Raji noted that every Nigerian is qualified for original product. “Whether you’re looking for a quality brand new or used phone, the longest battery life or accessories, there’s always something for you on Student Connect Nigeria, the first Nigeria’s Messaging app which enables users to not just chat but shop for quality controlled products and services that you can trust.” He said, Student Connect Nigeria has tremendous potential for growth and also passionate to creating high paying jobs and growing the nation’s technology sector, so for investors, developers and citizens that is looking at becoming part of a growing startup, they can get across to us.” “Many countries in the world, particularly in Asia, have managed to put their apps together, notably the Japanese, the Chinese, the Koreans and Indians. “Our desire to contribute to the society tapping from the priceless experiences we have acquired over all these years in school, have started bearing fruits, starting with the unveiling of this ‘Student Connect Nigeria’ App” “Africa must be developed by Africans, in collaboration with the international community,’’ he said.

Student Connect users can follow people without having to share a connection through a friend request. This includes public figures like celebrities, influencers, and reporters. Posts those you follow appear in your News Feed. If your account is set to public and allows followers, friend requests that you ignore or reject automatically become followers. This means that these people will see the content you post unless that person is blocked. People who have followers who are not friends can set restrictions for how those people can interact with their public posts. Your friends differ from followers in how much access they have to your profile and how they can interact with you and your posts. But this also depends on your own sharing, post, and privacy settings. There is a distinction that separates the two, which comes down to a basic principle: Student Connect friends are those you know personally, while those you follow are people of interest to you, though they're outside your circle of real-life relations. Student Connect friends are for close connections, while followers allow posts to reach wider audiences. Users can select the friends, people, and pages to follow to curate their News Feed and consume content of interest on the app. Join our community by Register OR Login www.studentconnect.ng https://studentconnect.ng/read-blog/36_what-039-s-the-difference-between-friends-and-followers-on-student-connect-niger.html |
(PART ONE) Like an idea whose time has come, as unstoppable as wind, Bashorun MD Eseyin, a political force in Kogi Politics, blasts through the entire landscape of Kogi West Senatorial District as he won the Senatorial Ticket to fly the flag of the ACCORD (A) for the Senatorial District. Dogged as ever, the Bashorun of Okagi Kingdom who had served the government of Governor Yahaya Bello as Special Adviser on Youths Empowerment, Sports and Students Affairs has begun grassroot mobilization across Kogi West Senatorial District with a view to coordinating a mass movement in support of his Candidacy. Being the youngest contestant for the revered office, Eseyin came with some uniqueness: In the wake of the massive clamour for a Yagba Candidate to emerge, a particular searchlight had beamed to the direction of Yagba Federal Constituency and its tripartite Local Governments in Yagba West, Yagba East and Mopamuro. When we clamour for a Yagba Candidate to represent Kogi West in the Senate, it is vital to shieve the Candidates through a net and narrow it down to a particular district in Yagba. Historically, all of Mopa, Isanlu, Oke-Oyi, Area Council and Egbe (Town Council) have at one point or the other represented Yagba in the National Assembly. Of these Districts, only Amuro, a politically oppressed zone, has never had the opportunity to represent the people at the National Assembly. Analysts have taken turns to point out this one point as making Bashorun MD Eseyin a strong contender for the Senate position. As he emerged as the flag bearer of the ACCORD (A) for Senate, it remains to be seen how the Party pulls its weight across Kogi West Senatorial District to deliver the hope of Yagba for Senate Movement. *What are his personal attributes, pedigrees and trajectory that make him the best Senate Candidate?* Watch out for Part Two. Alhaji Abdulraman Hassan Yahaya wrote from Lokoja.

By Asuquo Cletus Felix Nigeria, a continental giant, one of the most populated black nations in the world. A country full of human and natural resources. A State blessed with vibrant and energetic youths is turning into an abyss of ritual killings. Ritual killings in Nigeria have become a glorified norm. Nigeria has become a safe aboard for ritual killers. What used to be an abomination in Nigeria, has become a way of life. It has proven that life in Nigeria is short, brutish and painful, as the nation is plaguing into notoriety as a country of killers. The latest is the gruesome murder of 22-year-old Oluwabamise Ayankole who was abducted after boarding a Lagos state government-owned bus – Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) and was later murdered and had parts of her body removed which confirmed the suspicion that she may have been killed for ritual purposes. According to report, Bamise, who was on her way home from work, was thereafter killed inside a BRT (bus) at Ebute Ero. Also in Calabar South, part of the Cross River State capital, a man identified as Christian Eyo, was arrested for beheading his aunt. He, according to reports allegedly kept the severed head in his room. Though he claimed that he killed his aunt because she seduced him, investigation revealed that his action was linked to ritual killing. Early this year, it was also reported that a youth, Musa Hamza, 22, was arrested in Bauchi for allegedly beheading a teenager and dismembering , and burying the body parts in a shallow grave reportedly for ritual. Recall that on New Year’s Day, the corpse of a missing 300-level undergraduate of the University of Jos, Jennifer Anthony, was found mutilated at a hotel, including her eyes missing. The alleged ritual killer, Moses Oko, 20, was nabbed a few days later in Makurdi, Benue State, and it turned out to be her boyfriend. The list is inexhaustible. The rate at which these crimes is growing in Nigeria is unpalatable, disgusting and shameful, as it has completely taken over our national affairs. The underlying factor responsible for the carnibalistic tendency, is desperation on the part of our young ones who are eager to get rich quick. Family neglence, moral bankruptcy, core cultural values have not been re-enforced in many Nigerian households and families. Religious centers, clergy who often speak and reemphasized on the need to get rich quick are amongst some of the reasons for money rituals. For instance, many Nigerian churches, tell their members to make quick money and sometimes tag it as miracle money. Now is not the time to issue, sit on the fence and lament. It requires serious drastic measures from across all sectors and walks of life. For us as a nation to get rid of ritual killings, we must restructure our values. Religious leaders should stop teaching messages of prosperity, but instead reimbibe messages of strong christian faith, teaching messages of love as well as encourage peaceful coexistence, and hardwork. Family should reorientate their members on the need to get rich legitimately, as well as discouraging the tendency to get rich quick. As the scriptures put it “those who are eager to become rich will not remain innocent”. The government on their part, should arrest, and prosecute individuals who amass so much unexplainable money. They can do this by freezing such bank accounts, confiscating illegal properties, as well as deal decisively with those culpable of money rituals. https://studentconnect.ng/read-blog/21_has-ritual-killings-come-to-stay.html |

It’s one thing to set a goal and another to achieve it and the one thing that is in between is “Focus”. Focus is the ability to pay attention to a particular thing. No matter what you are trying to achieve, whether it’s career, relationship, family or just life in general, Focus in very key and can propel your success. Not only does focus help you achieve your goals and live the life you desire, it helps you increase productivity, reduces tension and allows you deliver on work effectively and efficiently. I remember in my early years of “the hustle”, I was cleaning the car of someone who used to drive me to work and I said to myself I would own a car like that one day, being focused enabled me achieve my set goals and to own more than the number of cars I envisaged. Remember, it’s not enough to just set goals, you must have the drive and focus, only then can you achieve them. In as much as focus is important, the corporate and business environment is changing everyday and as such we must all move with the times. One advice I always give is “No matter where you find yourself, whether it’s a multinational organization or a business of your own, do your best to help it achieve its goals” and one way to do that is to be creative and innovative. You cannot remain stuck in old ideas and expect to grow in a new world. What is creativity? It is coming up with a new idea that will help the organization or business grow. What is innovation? Innovation is implementing that idea in a good way. To be creative and innovative, you must study, you must think outside the box. Do not limit yourself, ask questions and be opened to learn new things.
