Abuja May 12, 2021 A former student of POMA University, situated at Dalemo, Alakuko, Lagos State, Miss Janet has called on the Government and its relevant regulatory agencies to investigate the unwholesome activities going at the university. Janet is a former student of POMA University, who was issued a Fake Degree Certificate and Professional Certificate from POMA who later left to actualised her educational quest in another University, but narrated her ordeal after waiting endlessly for NYSC Mobilization. According to her, what she experienced while on Educational voyage by secondment to POMA University, should be a thing to worry about and advised vulnarable intending students to look before they leap. She also challenged the Government of Nigeria and Benin Republic respectively, especially those agencies of government saddled with responsibility of setting standard for education to live up to their responsibilities. In her words. ''Subjecting innocent student to go through her experience doesn't portrait the government in a good light. ''Sadly, I received my Certificate(Fake) since 2019 from POMA University but they could not mobilize me for mandatory NYSC service because the University did not get statutory clearance and approval for operation''. After series of investigation, we found out that POMA University is not Accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education, Benin Republic. Upon investigation from the Ministry of Higher Education, Republic of Benin, it was noted that the University is not Accredited in Benin Republic, though they often showcase a forged Accredited Number which the ministry declined and most of the Professional Certificates it issued are not registered. After making us pay huge sum of about #200,000 for NYSC Mobilization, they failed to do the needful and till date, all effort to recover back our monies proof abortive. The School does not have any reasonable activities in the address stated on their websites as Africa Campus even though it operates from a small unauthorized building at AT IFELAJA ROAD, DALEMO ALAKUKO LAGOS.. In the past, it has been reported that POMA University or POMA Business University have been engaging in dubious Collection of monies from members of the public in pretence to mobilise them for NYSC, yet many of this innocent students were never mobilized. We urged the members of the public to stop patronising this institution characterised by unwholesome activities. POMA University is a disaster waiting to happen if the Governments of Nigeria and Benin Republic, do not take decisive action to shut down its operations.

Education and research been the bedrock of development of nations suffers several crises in Nigeria. These includes corruption, inefficient government policies, poor funding and low budgeting resulting to poor educational infrastructures, inadequate classroom, teaching aids such as (projectors, Computers, Laboratories and libraries), paucity of quality teachers and poor learning environment. However, the effect of COVID19 has indeed affected all strata of social interactions and has change the mode at which everything is done currently in the world. Most advanced nations have mitigated the scourging implications of this global health crisis through the use of technology for teaching and learning. Nigeria is not excluded from this crisis, as such requires operating differently following the trend of events as they affect all aspects of social interactions. However, the sense at which we are technologically advance suggests current inadequacies and impediments for future generations and our educational system. https://schoolconnectafrica.org/education-and-research-been-the-bedrock-of-development-of-nations-suffers-several-crises-in-nigeria/ The future of any nation rest upon how technologically advanced they can be in meeting current crisis for future implications. Nigeria as a nation in the committee of nations currently faced with COVID19 pandemic resulting to the closure of schools requires technology as imperative for teaching and learning for aids; an absence of which spells doom for teaching and learning in Nigeria. The government must be enjoyed building a scientific culture of solving social problems with technological advances and development in teaching aids. A society filled with myths and non-scientific culture suggests an impediment to growth in educational development. For meaningful development to take place in the educational sector; the government need to re-address the issue of funding. Private educational investors, teachers. Establish a proper parents/guidance and students/pupils’ reorientation towards achieving the goals of education. Also, education must be made affordable for all and sundry. To meet the current economic challenges melted by the COVID19, technical education and innovation centers must be encouraged and well-funded, if this nation must move out of this present technological and scientific dependence. Government and the organized private sector must as well fund research programmes, inventions, mass production of invented products and develop policies and strategies centered on technological development in solving the current crisis faced in the educational system. As such, the future of our education, teaching and learning rest on how technologically advanced we can become in the shortest possible time. One of the most frequently ask questions we always get asked about waist training permanent, which are How long does it take to see results from waist training? ; Is waist training permanent? such questions…There are a few misconceptions for almost newbie and even some senior, so we can hopefully discuss in this article.Table of Contents:Let’s get permanent results with waist training How long does waist training take to show results? There are a lot of myths about waist training, and these myths might one of reason make you started interested in it. Also, you will surely face some problems like is waist training is permanent? ; is waist training results permanent? so on, when you first get started… The answer is NO, it semi-permanent results. There have many factors to impact your whole result included the nature of your body, personal goals, and so on. One thing for sure which is the waist training will not cause crushing your internal organs or body ribs. The waist trainer corset will provide effective compress the soft tissue of your body torso in order to cinch in your waist and not to your physical detriment. If not, this practice may not last for centuries. Am I right? Let’s talk a bit about what that means in practical terms. You still can enjoy semi-permanent results if you consistently keep waist train. Let’s get permanent results with waist training Many women wear a waist trainer corset for the instantly slimming effect. And you can see the results immediately once you put it on. That’s because the high compression features of waist trainer corsets can cinch your waistline up to 4 inches or even more. What about long-term results? If you want to keep waist training permanent result, you need to follow a waist training regimen, and also supplementing a workout routine and healthy diet. i.Start by selecting the right best waist trainer corset is critical, and it might take time to decide on the size and style that’s fit for you. When you have done this, you will need to season the waist trainer corset by wearing it snug, but not too tight, for short periods of time, say a four – five hours a day. ii. Over the course of several weeks, you can gradually increase the time you wear your waist trainer corset during the day. And as you are more comfortable and your waist trainer corset becomes seasoned (i.e. it started conforms to your curvature), you can increase the hours of daily wear and cinch a little more. Soon you will be wearing your waist trainer corset all day, and able to comfortably get rid of your waistline to the maximum. iii. What you’ll start to notice is that when you take your waist trainer corset off, your waistline remains smaller – not quite as small as with the waist trainer corset on, but smaller than when you started. As long as you keep putting your waist trainer corset daily, you can keep semi-permanent results. Also!! A waist trainer corset is one of a supplement to help you reduce your waistline, but the work needs to come from you. That’s mean along with put the waist trainer corset for a few hours every day, you also have to combine with a balanced diet and engage in a waist training workout for at least 30 minutes every day to help you sweat harder and intensify your training by stimulating heat in your midsection. How long does waist training take to show results? If you really follow above proper waist training regimen and combined with a healthy diet and workout, you can start showing results in as less than one month. But other than, your metabolism, genetic makeup and the present shape of your body, commitment, lifestyle and even genetics all may play a role. Read this how long do you have to wear a waist trainer to see results? What’s also critical is that you have to sustain a healthy lifestyle even after you get rid the fat. Since we said previously, it’s only temporarily trimming your body into ideal shape, so there’s a chance your body will get back to its original shape after you stop putting the waist trainer corset, all things being equal. Thus, you want to maintain the shape you want, then you have to keep up your waist training regimen and combined with healthy diet and workout. That’s why we say waist training is semi-permanent result. Bottom Line Although the waist training is not a permanent result thing, but don’t be too sad. If you want the best results, you need to keep going. One healthy meal won’t make you healthy instantly, one workout won’t make fit immediately. If you stop any of these, the results will also stop. Hope this “Is Waist Training Permanent” article can solve your confusion. https://www.celpil.com/newbie-or-expert-is-waist-training-permanent/ celpil |

"Education is a thing of the mind"- Maria Montessori. Education in Nigeria didn't start with colonialism it started with the beginning of life in the African continent. Enoch (1996) stated that “traditional African education is not --- admired for the mere fact of its being indigenous to Africa, rather a mere permanent, justification thought”. Before the British arrived in the early nineteenth century, there were two major types of education in Nigeria. The first was the Islamic religion education in Arabic of Northern Nigeria and the second is the indigenous education. Everything was enough and orderly in an organized state, without reading and writing, there were languages, taught, life basics at different levels. At the time, the elementary science of healing, science of farming, and also of rearing of animals was fascinating without actual synthesize or machineries Africans educated themselves on how to use what they have to develop their own society. All this was before the British colonized Africa and brought Christianity and renamed all we had to be called primitive. We were awesome at what we did before colonization came to label Africans primitive. Among other things Colonialism brought education, with the missionaries in 1814. The colonial brand of education viewed education as a “central body of essential knowledge that must be transmitted to all who came to school” (Wango 1978). It started with just teaching the language of the colonizers to people (colonized) who were to be known as translators who helped the British missionaries to communicate with the congregation. Colonialism castigated everything we had from traditions to normal everyday etiquettes so as to create the colonial world in a colonized land. To the Europeans the aim of introducing western education in Nigeria was to fit the ordinary individual to fill a useful part in his environment and to ensure that the exceptional individual shall use his abilities for advancement of the community and not to its detriment, or to the subversion of constituted authority. Education ever since then has evolved tremendously unlike other sectors going wild and wide to meet international standards or better world standard even with our curriculum. It would be no news though to find out that the origin of that curriculum so to speak is westernization because like every other path we've chosen as a country westernization was our mother. At one-point orientalism came in place in the educational sector of Nigeria. The curriculum so to speak is incomplete as it lacks cogent tutoring on specific aspects of our black culture or history. It has been disorganized to rhyme totally with another man's culture. Because our history and culture are rich enough to educate our own if only, we would do the needful and grow or expand our own things. Education cannot be limited to writing and speaking alone, it holds more capacity to do more in development and societal growth. The colonial brand of education was essentialist by orientation which viewed with reference, an aim of education that sought the spiritual purification of the learner. This essentialist aim of education is upheld in Nigerian education; thus, it is clearly stated in the national policy on education (2004) that Nigerian education is meant to develop the child spiritually. The colonial education system focused strongly on examinations. Most points given to a school’s performance went to the numbers and rankings of its examination results. This emphasis on examination is still in use today to judge educational results, performance and to obtain qualification for jobs in government and private sectors perhaps this might explain why many of Nigerian students are involved in examination malpractices which make it possible for undeserving candidates to obtain high grades and certificates that they cannot defend. Colonial education also affected Nigerian indigenous system of education. This was because the missionaries were after formal training of the mind, for this reason they encouraged boarding accommodation so as to supervise, control and direct the learner along proper lines (Nnamdi 2002). The world as moved from the way it was before, that's what our Education should do too. The Nigerian curriculum is outdated and backward as it adds not exact value than reading and writing like it did in the past. With the pandemic, a lot has to change, away from what used to and what is supposed to be. A people's system of education should reflect first their culture before any other culture that's what true and real education is actually, we can't achieve so much if we let go of our own ways to learn the ways of others as though we were blind before they came along, it’s all in the mind and that's what education is meant to change. By ADEBOLA Faith Oluwatobiloba Campus Connect had earlier reported a blast in Akure, the capital of Ondo state. While the cause of the blast remained unclear, with preliminary reports suggesting that it was a bomb blast. Twitter users likewise have attributed the blast an Asteroid hit, in reaction to NASA's prediction of an Asteroid hitting the earth in the early hours of Saturday. However, the governor of Ondo state, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu has come out to address the public for the first time since the blast, a few hourhours ago. According to the Governor, via his twitter handle said "I have been briefed by the security chiefs that in the early hours of Saturday March 28, a vehicle in a convoy transporting Explosives to a storage facility in a neighboring state developed a fault while in transit along the Akure Owo road about 2km from the Akure airport. Security personnel and other individual transporting and ordinances noticed smoke from the vehicle. After several attempts to extinguish the resulting fire failed, the vehicle and it's consignment ignited causing a massive explosion that was felt in Akure and its environs. Presently, efforts are being made to ascertain if there are casualties. Following my visit to the scene, I have directed that the area be cordoned off to allow the explosive ordinance department/bomb squad to extricate the vehicle buried underground because ...it is unclear if there are still explosives that are yet to be detonated . Everything is under control and I will be updating the public on any new developments. We understand that this is taking place in the midst of a global crisis. We ask that everyone continues to stay calm, stay safe and continue to #TakeResponsibility in this #COVID19Nigeria fight.” VISIT https://www.campusconnect.com.ng/2020/03/akure-blast-governor-akeredolu.html |
DISCLAIMER: NAKOSS URGES THE GENERAL PUBLIC TO DISREGARD THE FLAGRANT REPORT WITH THE TITLE, "KOGI STUDENTS' ENDLESS WAIT FOR BURSARY" Following the publication of an article entitled "Kogi students' endless wait for bursary" by a certain Arogbonlo Isreal on the The Nation's Campus Life and Kogireports.com dated 30th October, 2019, who falsely led the public to actually believe he had the NAKOSS body under his wing and was working for them, the NAKOSS body hereby uses this press release disassociates itself from the claims contained in the aforementioned report. Not only did the writer made concocted lies about the NAKOSS body engaging in a mass protest, but he equally gave off a misconception concerning the NAKOSS President's press conference held on 21st October, 2019 of which the Reporter wasn't present. During the Press conference which had in attendance Jounalists from News Agency of Nigeria, The Graphics, Campus Connect as well as chapter presidents of the union, The National President, Comrade Moses Omeiza Audu made an appeal to the government of Kogi state with retrospect to the sudents' bursary that was yet to be paid, as that would facilitate the influx of students to the polling units come election day slated November 16th, 2019. It would give them hope considering how the bursary system has been riddled with irregularities and mishaps. Also, it would show the government was not inept and were on a student-first basis, seeing as they had agreed to accrue the student monies. These were what the President had said at the press conference. However, Mr Isreal Arongbonlo, in the flagrant report made false presumptions about the press statement and decide to infer the wrong meaning from it, by stating that the President was aggrieved and had given the Kogi State government a 16- day ultimatum, lest there would be a mass protest. Plus, he putatively misled the public to believe that the NAKOSS body would engage in a protest. It is in this regard that the NAKOSS body state clearly that they do not have any affiliation with Mr Isreal Arongbonlo both at the National and at local chapter levels. The mass protest would only be a breeding ground for hoodlums of all sorts, plus it is injurious to the citizenry and also what the Association stands for. With that knowledge, the mass protest which Mr Isreal adjudged that NAKOSS would sponsor is totally unfounded and untrue and that the public should disregard the news. NAKOSS would never engage in violent activities to gain audience with the government, as the Association has always lived by the peace mantra.

Yesterday is equally the International Day of the Girl Child. I was privileged to be in the panel of discussants at the Federal University Lokoja alongside, Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture, Kogi State and a host of other legal and academic generals. We considered *Empowering the Girl Child for a Better Nigeria* In the meeting, I posited and we all agreed that there is no better Empowerment for the girl child that us better than quality education that opens their minds to critical thinking. And that falls squarely on one of the cardinal thematic areas of Leverage, the Summit that was just just concluded. It is the largest gathering of Great Minds in the North Central. One of the questions I had to deal with bothered on the traditional Nigerian(African Belief) that; the Girl Child naturally does not qualify for formal education and can afford to live without being schooled. My first reaction was; "that may have passed in 1947, but certainly not in the 21st century. My position therefore was ; that we are no longer in the 1947 preclinical era. The 21s century Girl Child has value, has interests and passion, can and should be allowed to speak for themselves and go to any length within the law to express themselves. Let your parents know, humbly, that the era of no education for the girl child has been long jettisoned. In this century, girls can only amount to anything, if they are sponsored through school. In fact, the economy and politics may be safer in their hands as they are naturally not prone to violence.. Debatable though. The world on social media is awash with stories of women who have made amazing contributions in staggering developmental projects across Nigeria, Africa and the world at large. However, the girl child must do away with the defeatist mentality of I can't do it. I know this may not be for all the girls, but most of the girls see themselves as competitively disadvantaged. They must put behind that in untoward vulnerability that tends to put them totally under the control of elements within their habitat. This I say, should not take away their celebrated humanity and emotional fluidness for that is womanly. They must learn to sponsor themselves and support each other. They need to be bold enough to stand for what they believe in. They should be able to toe the paths of the Akunyili's the Iweala's and all other amazing women who represent quality around the world. They need to take a chance and not wait for one. In this part of the world, people do not give you a chance, you just take it. This is not about gender equality or inequality, it is about them, giving themselves voices in our society while maintaining their understanding of the providential positioning of the male folks in their lives. The women are amazing people. They became women after being girls. With them, the world is safest, the world experiences love. They are strong and resilient. Therefore should be protected and encouraged; motivated and not ABUSED, PROVIDED for not harassed, supported and not intimidated. They should stand up for themselves. As the men stand for them. I am Daniel Nwankwo (D'Godboy) give the girl child a fair chance!
