https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHMdU-t8V9o Tesla often releases software updates to improve their vehicles, but there haven’t been many updates lately packed with new features. That changed today with the release of software update 2023.26, which includes a number of new features and improvements, some of which have long been asked for. One feature that has long been asked for finally arrived in 2023.26, and that is headlights automatically turning on when your wipers are activated. This is a feature that has been in other cars for years, but has been notably absent from Tesla vehicles. Another requested feature that arrived is Bluetooth game controller support. According to the release notes this feature will work best with Sony PS5 controllers, but any Bluetooth controller should work. |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZrzHc-Iu4z8 Elon Musk’s presentation at this year’s Tesla Shareholder Meeting did not pass without mentioning the company’s humanoid robot, Optimus. Tesla introduced the idea of making a humanoid robot around two years ago. Since then, the company is constantly sharing progress updates at major events like AI Day, Investor Day, and Shareholder Meetings. Tesla Bot (Optimus) was the last item on Elon Musk’s presentation at the Shareholder Meeting on Tuesday. Musk discussed Optimus in more detail compared to other products like the Cybertruck and the next-gen Tesla car which he went through briefly. Tesla also shared a video of the Optimus development progress before Elon Musk’s remarks (watch below). This video shows Tesla Bot performing various maneuvers inside the company’s robot lab and around the Fremont factory. |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXIm4wSdgXg A few months ago, Tesla Chief Designer Franz von Holzhausen said Tesla does not have a “pencils down” approach with the Cybertruck design. If anything indicates this, it was last evening’s most recent sightings of the Cybertruck, which featured the first looks at potential accessories and one of the cleanest prototypes we have seen yet. Over the past six months, various sightings of the Cybertruck have flown through the community, some better than others. Initial sightings in Palo Alto revealed a beat-up Cybertruck vehicle, which was likely a guinea pig in a variety of off-road and odd terrain situations to assess performance. This is not to say that Tesla has not brought some more refined and better-looking Cybertruck vehicles to the party in recent months. We know that Tesla is already managing a few test production runs inside Gigafactory Texas, which reached a 5,000-vehicle production run rate recently. As more sightings continue to be documented, we can see that the Cybertruck is only getting better as it nears production. Of course, Tesla’s revealed designs are the cleanest of them all: one from the Investor Day and one from last evening’s groundbreaking at the Texas Lithium Refinery. We reported several months ago that leaks had revealed Tesla was planning to launch a full-scale accessory development effort, along with a coordinated team, for the Cybertruck. The first looks at a roof rack attached to the Cybertruck were given by Tesla last night, and it seems there will be much more capability with the vehicle. But, in reality, who thought it would stop at its polarizing design? Tesla has always, for the lack of a better term, “marketed” the Cybertruck as the ultimate pickup. It can handle commercial applications, it can tickle the fancy of those who want performance and utility, and it can also just be one of the most unique vehicles on the road, if that’s what a consumer wants. However, one thing is for sure, the Cybertruck continues to look better and better, and with Tesla-specific accessories and room for third-party attachments as well, it makes room for the potential of even more orders before the truck has even started mass production. https://www.teslarati.com/tesla-cybertruck-strategy-more-with-every-appearance/

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sm8yTaxeuaw Tesla CEO Elon Musk attended the Miami Grand Prix over the weekend. During his visit, he participated in discussions on aerodynamics and battery technology, sharing his enthusiasm for electric vehicles and Formula 1 racing. Musk, who brought his young son to the event, mingled with F1 leaders and visited the Red Bull garage. He was warmly welcomed by the F1 community, chatting with F1 Chief Stefano Domenicali and posing for photos with team boss Christian Horner and drivers Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez. Musk Suggests an Electric Vehicle vs Gas/Hybrid F1 Race Following his visit, Musk took to Twitter to share an unconventional idea for Formula 1. He tweeted, "Fun discussion of aero and battery technology in F1. I proposed a pure EV vs gas/hybrid F1 race." This suggestion envisioned a new kind of racing event, bringing together the worlds of electric vehicles and traditional Formula 1 competition. However, fans quickly pointed out that a similar concept already exists in Formula E, the all-electric single-seater racing series. Several Twitter users responded to Musk's tweet, reminding him of the established competition. One user wrote, "There's Formula E, buddy," while another chimed in, "There is already a competition like F1 for electric cars." Improving Tesla Service This isn't the first time Musk has included F1 in a tweet. In May of 2022, he tweeted: Excited to work with Tesla Service to enable same-hour service as often as possible! Applying Formula 1 pit crew techniques to Teslas. It doesn't appear that those techniques have been incorporated, as F1 pitstops are around 2.4 seconds. Fans Remind Musk of the Existing Formula E Racing Series Despite the reminder, many fans encouraged Musk to become more involved in Formula 1, suggesting that he could use his influence and resources to innovate and push the boundaries of the sport. Some proposed ideas included having a Tesla Plaid car join the race or even Musk buying a team and competing directly. While Musk's proposal may not have been entirely original, it did spark conversation and generated interest in the possibilities of integrating electric vehicle technology into the world of Formula 1. As the electric vehicle market continues to grow, the future of racing may see a convergence of traditional and cutting-edge technologies. |

Tesla's regenerative braking| FSD Lane Markings| Tesla massive latest update https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eg0HN0lY0a8 Tesla will reintroduce a previously axed regenerative braking setting for its drivers, which can slow the vehicle without having to apply the brake pedal, storing the energy to be applied later, resulting in a boost in range. The issue with regenerative braking is that it is not a present feature in many cars, so some drivers are not familiar with how it works, its advantages, or the particularly different feel that comes with operating a vehicle outfitted with it. Tesla introduced regenerative braking in its vehicles to increase range by storing the kinetic energy generated from braking for later use and to help certain vehicle parts last longer, like brake pads, for example. It can help the lifespan of these braking components last more than 50 percent longer. With the introduction of the feature, Tesla had two options: low and normal, but in newer vehicles, normal was the only setting available because it was the more efficient of the two and contributed to greater range contribution and less wear to braking components due to less use. Now it seems Tesla is looking to reintroduce the “Low” regenerative braking option in its vehicles, according to NotaTeslaApp. Users who were accidentally given access to changes temporarily noticed the reintroduction of the low regenerative braking mode, which seems to indicate Tesla plans to roll out the feature to newer cars that have not had access to it yet. With the addition of the feature, Tesla is allowing drivers to cater their driving experience to their own preferences. Regenerative braking is an advantage many electric and hybrid vehicle drivers can access. It undoubtedly assists in the longevity of braking components and increased range in EVs and gas mileage in hybrids. Tesla is also planning a major overhaul to its UI in the coming weeks, as it has already started shipping Software Update 2023.12 to select employees, introducing various interface improvements aimed toward customization and ease of access. |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3QQ5PwyP5I Tesla has implemented another round of price cuts in the US, less than 24 hours before the automaker announces its Q1 2023 financial results. The price drop has brought the entry-level Model 3 to below $40,000 USD, before incentives. After cutting prices earlier this month across their entire lineup in the US, Tesla is now lowering the price on the Model 3 and Model Y by as much as $3,000. Unfortunately there have been no similar price drops in Canada. Model 3 Price Changes The entry-level Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) variant of the Model 3 now starts at $39,990, down from $41,990. Add in the now reduced $3,750 US tax credit effective as of today and the Model 3 could be purchased for $36,240. There was no price change to the Performance variant, and the Long Range is still unavailable to order. Performance: $53,990 (no change)Model Y Price Changes The Model Y price cuts apply to all variants, and they are all the same at $3,000. The newly added Model Y AWD with 4680 cells now starts at $46,990, while the Long Range and Performance variants now start at $49,990 and $53,990 respectively. All of these prices are before incentives, and unlike the Model 3 RWD, all Model Y variants qualify for the full $7,500 tax credit. Add in state-level incentives, like those available in California and a brand new Model Y can now be purchased for as little as $37,490 in Tesla’s biggest market in the US. All-Wheel Drive: $49,990 to $46,990 (-$3,000) This big question is how these successive price cuts have impacted Tesla’s industry-leading margins. During the Q4 2022 earnings call, and after the first round of massive price cuts in January, CFO Zachary Kirkhorn said Tesla’s margins were still above 20%. We will find out tomorrow at the Q1 2023 earnings call how much the price cuts since then have cut into their margins, but we won’t see the impact of tonight’s price cuts until the Q2 2023 report, and going by Tesla’s track record so far this year, who knows how many more price adjustments there will be by then. |

Masive Update| Tesla Cybertruck| Model Y 10% Charge Challenge| 2023.12 Software Update #EVInsights https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vP7iyC3p6M Elon Musk has stated that the Tesla Cybertruck may start its initial production this summer. Considering that summer is just over 70 days away, Tesla is definitely putting a ton of effort into its all-electric pickup truck to ensure that it’s ready to compete in the automotive market. With this in mind, it is no surprise to see Tesla testing the Cybertruck with what appears to be wheel calibrating equipment. This was hinted at in a recent sighting of the Tesla Cybertruck in Fremont. Images of the Cybertruck showed the vehicle equipped with what appeared to be a series of sensors. Its wheels were also particularly eye-catching. As noted by members of the Cybertruck Owners Forum, the Cybertruck beta in the recent sighting was equipped with a set of tires that are quite easy on the eyes. Mounted on the steel wheels, however, are what appear to be wheel force transducers, which are precision measuring equipment. Wheel force transducers are designed to aid in the evaluation and advancement of complete vehicle chassis and their components. They are used in a wide range of vehicles, from sedans, SUVs, and commercial vehicles, to race cars and industrial vehicles. When in use, wheel force transducers typically take the place of a regular wheel, measuring the forces and moments that act upon the tire’s contact patch. The Tesla Cybertruck has been described by executives such as Elon Musk as the company’s masterpiece for now. It is expected to adopt numerous features, including rear-wheel steering. Such features may require more calibrating work if they are to be used with systems such as Autopilot and FSD. Interestingly enough, this may not be the first time that a Cybertruck prototype with apparent wheel force transducers has been spotted in the wild. Last August, a rather battle-weary Cybertruck unit was photographed as it was being offloaded from a transport truck. Similar to the Cybertruck in the recent sighting, the vehicle was outfitted with numerous sensors then. It was also equipped with wheels that looked very similar to those in the recent prototype. |
Elon Musk has rejected concerns raised by Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy on Tesla's expansion in China. Also, Tesla has become the world's most valuable automotive brand, surpassing Mercedes-Benz and Toyota. #EVinsights https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VaDEOrpQ5y4 |
