JAKARTA - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy acknowledged that the aid that Western countries provide to his country comes at a price and is not free to deal with the Russian invasion.

America and a number of allied countries are known to provide a lot of assistance to Ukraine, including aid in military facilities and infrastructure to deal with the Russian invasion.

The assistance provided ranged from weapons, helmets to bulletproof vests needed by the Ukrainian fighters. Apart from the US and Western countries, aid also came from Asia, such as Japan which sent bulletproof vests and military helmets.

"The money allocated by Europe and other countries is spent only on humanitarian aid or weapons," said President Zelenskiy, as reported by TASS on March 14.

"Sometimes we receive weapons directly, but you have to understand that everything has a price," he explained.

"Every time the money we get is mentioned, well, everything is paid for, it's not free," continued President Zelenskiy.

In late February, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky asked the European Union to let his country join the union immediately. Ukraine's application for EU membership under expedited procedures has been received, registered, and is being considered, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andrey Yermak said on March 1.

Meanwhile, EU heads of state and government, gathered for an informal summit in France's Versailles, expressed their solidarity with Ukraine in a joint statement, but did not grant candidate status to Kyiv.

According to the latest statement, the EU will continue to strengthen its relations with Ukraine, which belongs to the 'European family'. However, according to Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, the process of Ukraine's accession to the EU could take months or even years.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky also said that both Russia and the West should provide security guarantees to their countries.

"Apart from the Russian Federation, security guarantees must also be provided by other leaders," he said.

Furthermore, the Ukrainian president also explained that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) does not offer protection to his country.

"What we need right now are not words, but security guarantees from countries and state unions that are able to provide them. We don't want to start another war," said President Zelenskiy.

Isn't it strange that no International media has seen it? The US has independent media houses that will jump on it, but it has to be the truth first.
What media does Russia have? All are state controlled. Anyone not saying what Putin wants is thrown in prison.

Did Putin try to make a deal with NATO against Ukraine joining NATO and they refused.?

it is tyranny to just wake up and attack a sovereign nation, without trying to go out for all possible peace making processes first. It is against international law.

There is no invasion ever that can be compared to what Putin is doing, why did he ever deny he was planning to attack Ukraine? It's illegal in all ramifications.

Have you asked yourself why Ukrainians removed their former leader, and chose someone with campaign promises to align more with the west? Putin annexed, Crimea, conducted referendum for separatists groups in Ukraine, against the wish of Ukrainians, so they know if they fold their hands, he will definitely come for them, which he didn't fail to do.

USA is not 100% right with all their decisions, they really go with America first before any other, but the world is in much safer hands with USA as world power than Russia, China, Israel .

Most of major wars is caused by land annexation and these later world power wannabes countries are known for eyeing one land belonging to others.

Personally. one of the reasons I support USA as world power, is the same reason I will rather choose to leave Nigeria for USA instead of any fu*k*ng Russia, China, Israel or North Korea. I remain in Nigeria with Buhari than live in any of these countries.

I would have loved to point out a few publications for you to read yourself but unfortunately I'm so exhausted now. Please don't follow the Western media they would only brain wash you. The have chosen a side which clearly show how bias they are. Abeg another time make I sleep first

You are very correct....but it won't be a pretty sight if USA goes to war against Russia that would be the end of modern civilization..its going to be a nuke war...we in Africa won't be spared the consequences of a nuke war...the nuclear weapon is the reason NATO are been cautious and we pray it doesn't come to that..

I agree with you but it's the hypocrisy of the west/USA that I so much hate. They are just after their own interest and pretending to be doing the world a favour.

The US fell out with Cuba when it became a Communist state.

The Soviet Union started building nuclear plants in Cuba, for what you may ask.

It was the building of nuclear plants the America resisted. The US demanded the removal of the missiles already there and the destruction of the sites.

After many back and forth the leaders of both superpowers recognized the devastating possibility of a nuclear war and publicly agreed to a deal in which the Soviets would dismantle the weapon sites in exchange for a pledge from the United States not to invade Cuba.

So, how is the same with Ukraine?

Thanks for this line of argument. I like people like you because you can do some research to back up you argument. But, have your heard of the bio chemical labs in Ukraine? The one USA built with the help of WHO? What's the difference between that and a nuclear plant. USA is so hypocritical they have done worse that the whole combined. When it is America doing the invasion/west then its okay but when its Russia then its evil.

I'm a peacefully person but I will outrightly defend myself in the face of aggression and thats what Russia is doing. I guess you've not heard of the Minsk agreements between the west/USA and Russia which they are denying that it doesn't exist. Before the invasion Russia has repeatedly asked for an agreement for both Ukraine and the west honour the agreement but they all refused.

Read about the Cuban invasion by the USA. Why did the USA invade? The did because the Cuban where allowing the Russian to station weapon there which they term aggression same thing they are now doing to Russia.
