PoliticsNo Law Forbids Extension Of Tenure Of Retired IGP – Court by UsmanIll(op): 2:38pm On Jun 19, 2021
The Federal High Court in Abuja, on Friday, held that President Muhammadu Buhari did not not act in violation of the law, when he extended the tenure of former Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Mohammed Adamu by three months.

The court, in a judgement that was delivered by Justice Ahmed Mohammed, held that no section of either the 1999 Constitution, as amended, or the Police Act, forbade the President from retaining a retiring IGP in office “as a stop gap measure”, pending the completion of the process for the appointment of a substantive successor.

Justice Mohammed noted that both Constitution and the Police Act were silent on the issue of whether or not the President could extend the tenure of a retired IGP.

Christianity EtcCheck Out The Only Person In The Bible Who Was Buried In A Coffin by UsmanIll(op):
Joseph the son of Jacob is the only person to be buried in a coffin. The Bible gives a record of Joseph’s life in the book of Genesis. Majority of the people who died in the Bible were mostly buried in caves or tombs.

The book of Genesis Chapter 50:26 gives details of how Joseph was buried, the verse goes ahead to provide the number of years that the son of Jacob lived on earth. According to the verse in Genesis, Joseph lived 110 years before he met his death and he was buried in Egypt.

You may have probably read the whole bible but you may not come across a verse in the bible where someone is buried in a coffin apart from Joseph’s death, however, coffin is mentioned in the Bible in several verses. The verse that talks about Joseph’s death is the last verse of the book of Genesis.

Basiru who holds a doctoral degree in Property Law and currently represents Osun Central Senatorial District, mwade this disclosure while speaking in an interview with The Punch Newspaper over the controversy surrounding plans by the Federal Government to start the implementation of the gazette on the old cattle grazing routes introduced by the defunct Northern Region Government in the 1960s.

He added that the grazing law can only be applicable in Northern State not all over the country.

“It is regrettable that the President has not been properly advised by his attorney general and the legal team. They need to go and check their facts.
