Regionalism was abolished by Aguiyi Ironsi just to fulfill their usual talk that the Igbos must dominate the whole of Africa. We were doing absolutely well by region until he got there and decided to fulfill the mission of "we must dominate everyone". The same reason Azikiwe fought Awolowo for suggesting that cessation must be included in our constitution.

Regionalism is better because each region is able to manage their resources, security network, build infrastructures without waiting for the Federal Government. The FG is weaker and more economic and administrative power is given to the regions.

Ok now we know why it is abolished,but at this critical point the country is experiencing myriads of issues such as food inflation,insecurity and high exange rate. The question is will different region have different exchange rate, different inflation rate and all I think the president should address the issues before balkanizing the country into region.

The impartiality on the side of the government Is what I feel is costing us. Government shutting southern borders and northern border is not fair enough. If the government open up the southern border and there is an influx of foodstuffs to Nigeria, it should bring down the the price of foodstuffs here. The temporary solution is for either the government to shut down northern border so farmers can sell to local market,or open up southern border so southerners can bring in food from neighbouring countries.
