Islam › Re: Pay Back Your Missed Ramadan Fast! by usmanpogo(m): 12:52pm On Jan 30 |
The 30-day fasting ritual of Ramadan has roots in pre-Islamic Arabian paganism, specifically in the rituals of moon-worshipping tribes (such as the Sabians of Harran) who fasted to appease the moon god, Sin, when the moon was obscured. |

LordAdam16: warships from iran, china, and russia to conduct live fire exercises in the gulf of oman and indian ocean "within days"
india has been briefed since they're the only other major power in the neighborhood
as i said earlier if na naval segment of this war forget it sh*t will be handled
the us is now transferring more aerial assets direct from mainland us they're moving two complete THAAD systems meant to protect mainland us to the middle east
total war is here we feast this weekend
-Lord You're really eager for this war to begin What if there's nothing to feast on this weekend ? I don't think there would be a declaration of war between the US and the Iranians. And if so, the Iranians have more to lose because there's a huge chance civilians would perish in numbers unforseen if there's a declaration of war. Saying the odds are against the Persians is an understatement, it'll be carnage. If those countries you mentioned were going to defend Iran should it come under attack, it might be a different case but the Iranians are on their own as I have said since day one. It's in the best interest of the Persians to make a deal, hopefully this time it sticks. |

obedience4: This is the most scary one of them all.. Imagine the sacrifice the US made on behalf of the allies during WW2, a war that wasn't going to effect her directly..as the battlefield in Europe was thousand of miles from the continental US..
the US paid the ultimate sacrifice.. go and look up the human casualties incurred by the US in Europe.. The cost and risk of moving troops and material through the Atlantic ocean while under threat from Germany uboats
Yet one fella wants to bring propaganda because he is anti US.. without the US supports the Soviet Union would have been taken over by the Nazis
That's why sometimes I understand Trump's sentiment to Europe.. the yanks turned the tide of the war in Europe..they sacrifice so much even when they didn't have to.. Fun facts Notable US companies like GM, Ford, IBM and Coca-Cola were raking-in huge profits dealing with the third reich. From a business perspective, it made no sense to join the war. The Soviet played a huge role but so did the Americans who could have stayed away because the Germans posed no threat to the Americans, only the Japs. |

Obedience40: Two different systems of governments!! US States are empowered by the constitution so they have some level of autonomous power .. Nigerian States virtually has none!! State police in the US are currently protecting civilians protesting right now..how will a governor in nigeria protect his people?? when the primary force responsible for the protection of the citizens, the Nigerian police force is under the control of the federal government.. you simply can't compare the two Finally condemnation and a superior argument 🫡
And also what Trump is doing activating and deploying federal agents into States are within his scope as president of the US..ICE and other agencies like the FBI has jurisdiction in the entire US.. the problem is the way the ice agents are going on with their mandate.. so reckless and inhumane |

Scorpio99: What is happing in the United States under Donald Trump should not be used to define democracy. Before we ever heard of Trump, the definition of democracy was already taught in schools and an unbiased mind knows that if applied according to the letter, it is the very best form of government. The actions of Donald Trump and his ICE agents have no definition or anywhere you can crumple them in democracy and I think that is what we should focus on. Democracy has its definition and its definition predates Trump, we shouldn't use the action of one man to define it, cos that is exactly what I see here. Using Trump's actions to define democracy.
So, yes. Democracy is beautiful. Boss man When I said isn't democracy beautiful, I meant it's ironic, as it gives equal opportunities for fools and the the wise. That's the beauty of democracy. |

What's going on in Minneapolis is utterly befuddling, law enforcements carrying out public execution without reproach or condemnation from the government is not a scenario one could envisage happening in the US, the so called land of the free. Apparently "freedom" itself is relative under President Trump.

Gbadebo19: Explain yourself or we declare you an eternal enemy inside the lake of fire 🤣🤣 Every successful empire in history have had to do something inhumane to get ahead, if history is a good pointer the only advantage the victor has over the vanquished is the innate ability to do what's morally reprehensible. Take for example the Japs vs the US during WW2 The Japs were monsters when it comes to morally reprehensible acts, they left an unparalleled level of carnage in the Pacific but they met a more evil monster in the US, a monster so evil it'll watch the Pacific burn to get ahead. That's what it takes to be a victor and the US understands this principle. A meaningful vector in history is to embrace amorality and sheer force, that's how the world works. I hope you catch my drift ✌️ |

Grow some balls? Very ignorant statement.
Wagner and other Russian specialists are already present in Venezuela. Weapons are being shipped to Venezuela openly. More will come when the war fully kicks off. Or did you see the Russians hiding it?
The only difference is that the Russians will not make a spectacle of weapons shipment like the Americans. They'll just keep sending them batch after batch.
Russians are smarter. Publicizing your weapons shipment tells the other side what and what you've sent and where they are being sent to.
One thing I'm willing to bet my life on is that Americans back home in the mainland will be hit hard when Trump decides to attack Venezuela.
I WILL BET MY LIFE ON IT.

We have new players who have chosen the African continent as the next theater to settle geopolitical disputes. The Arabs and the Turks are here and not a lot of people see how this will end. Well, Israel has always wielded influence around the horn of Africa. Turkey's 400 hectares military base in Mogadishu was definitely gonna have consequences, I think we all saw that recently, surprised the Israelis waited this long. At this point one can't help but wonder what the AU is doing to prevent and secure the continent from these foreign influences. So far, all of West Africa is fair game to terror groups backed by these new players. |

It was operated by the Colombian communist terrorist organisation and drug trafficking group ELN. If the US is really serious about stoping drug flow, they might as well take the fight to the Chinese because almost all the fentanyl comes from there. The British once went to war with China in the 1800s for not allowing opium into China, even went further to seek compensation from the Chinese for obstructing free trade of opium. The US and the Europeans had shared interest and even the US offered military assistance to the British during the second opium wars. Perhaps the Chinese are intentional about this well "crafted revenge" At the expense of sounding like a conspiracy theorist, fentanyl is a synthetic opioid. Perhaps the Chinese are more sinister than we give them credit for 😂 How tables turn |

Scorpio99: ISIS is just a tool you say, right? Can you tell me why such tools do not exist in other religions?
About Islam, please don't teach me what I know. A person you know very well in the afternoon does not need to be verified by a hurricane lamp in the night.
A religion I was brought up in, I know the Qur'an in and out and I perfectly understand and speak Arabic as well. Don't teach me what I know please. I am speaking from what I know not what the US is saying about anybody.
I will tell you one thing. Do not let your petty grudges against the US blind you to the extent of not seeing what is right in your front.
Go to the part I bolded in your statement. Do you want me to start bringing out specific examples from the Qur'an where it is explicitly stated that xtians and Jews are to be killed if they do not pay what is called "Jizya'? a very wicked tax on people of other faith who don't accept Islam but are under islamic rule? Should I bring out specific agreements that the prophet of Islam himself broke with other tribes of Mecca after he gained the upper hand? Those tribes made agreements with him not to fight but as soon as he gained the upper hand, he broke the agreements and killed them all.
I don't want to engage in religious argument tonight but please argue only what you know, not just what you read on some blog.
ISLAM IS A VERY VERY TERRIBLE RELIGION. When the prophet left Mecca for Medina, he met the Banu Quraya ( and two other Jewish tribe) and a few Christians in Medina, they received him wholeheartedly. How the Jews were expelled from the Arabic peninsula is a story for another day. One of the Jewish tribe in Medina sided with the enemy but the Jewish tribe claimed they didn't have an agreement with the prophet. Did the prophet break treaties with the Meccans ? Yes Technically, he claimed he was commanded by Allah to do so. Just as Allah instructed him to take his adopted son's wife after catching a glimpse of her unclothedness. This is one of the reasons adoption was abolished in Islam. Quran 33:37 So when Zayd had accomplished what he would of her, then We gave her in marriage to thee, so that there should not be any fault in the believers, touching the wives of their adopted son, when they had accomplished what they would of them; and God's commandment must be performed. One way or the other, Islam is pure Arabic culture and practices. As a Muslim the Quran oppsoses association with Christians, Jews ans other non-believers. Quran 3:28 Believers should not take disbelievers as guardians instead of the believers—and whoever does so will have nothing to hope for from Allah—unless it is a precaution against their tyranny. And Allah warns you about Himself. And to Allah is the final return The sword verse Quran 9:5 But once the Sacred Months have passed, kill the polytheists ˹who violated their treaties˺ wherever you find them,1 capture them, besiege them, and lie in wait for them on every way. But if they repent, perform prayers, and pay alms-tax, then set them free. Indeed, Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful You're not allowed to attend funeral of non believers even if they are your parents 9:84 And do not ever offer ˹funeral˺ prayers for any of their dead, nor stand by their grave ˹at burial˺, for they have lost faith in Allah and His Messenger and died rebellious. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) believed that Allah (God) revealed his marriage to Aisha through dreams, where an angel showed her to him as his future wife, indicating divine intent for their union. Aisha was six at this time and the prophet of Allah was at least 50. Isn't Allah great ? Takbir allahu akbar |

aariwa: Since the end of the civil war Nigerian government heave almost zero investments in SE unlike they have done in your area but even at that igbos are not confined to space a space in timidity like your people that’s why igbos continues investing igboland ( travel to igboland and see for yourself) and developing in areas with federal infrastructure supports like Lagos , Abuja , port harcourt, west Africa etc. We can bet that if you travel to ph ,Kano , abuja , etc the houses built by your people not to talk of investments are not up to 20 as your people who travel to those areas mostly drive okada , taxi , sell agbo etc no denigration intended my brother but it’s the fact What do you mean denigration ? But if you want to go that route I'll be very happy to list the menial jobs your kindreds embrace here with passion like selling gala in traffic, driving keke napep, we even have some of your brothers working on farms here. These are decent jobs but if you think it's denigrating that's up to you. It's a fact your brothers and sisters have been coming with their sacks on night bus all in hope of financial opportunities down the west Jokes apart Buhari alone had 69 on going project in the SE before the end of his administration. "Tinubu Administration (Since 2023): There have been significant recent announcements of investments. Officials stated that the region is benefiting from federal road projects worth over N1.5 trillion. The Federal Executive Council (FEC) also approved over N1.3 trillion for ongoing federal road and bridge projects. Furthermore, the newly established South-East Development Commission and South-East Investment Corporation have a combined initial capital base and target of over N350 billion in a push for a $200 billion regional economy by 2035. Only Christmas holiday and every other region dey dry for one full month. Check the revenue during those periods make we find out something. I like how you think We can start with this festive period, inform your brothers and sisters to stay behind after the festive period and if possible liquidate their assets. Let's see how long it'll take them before they start taking night bus to the SW 😂 In the SW we have almost an equal share of both Muslims and Christians so we celebrate everything, it's impossible for it to be ever boring, we even celebrate our traditional festivals, so it's impossible for the SW to be boring 😂 Why can't you people do all these business in the SE ? If it's a Paradise, why have your people been making the exodus to the SW for decades ? If you say it's because Lagos was once the capital, what about other States in the SW ? The questions are : Why are you not doing those businesses in the SE ? This might be another self confession that the SE is a dead zone. Why are your brothers and sisters all over the country seeking economic opportunities ? If you really own 60% percent of businesses. You guys must love Nigeria so much that you decided not to invest in your region 😂 They say charity begins at home except this doesn't apply to the SE 😂 |
